Computer and maplist configuration

I work in an video/motiongraphics company, it's a small one and currently I'm reshifting and reorganising things. Since were getting a few new systems and the fact that I'm in an endless discussing with my supervisor about maplist configuration I thought I'd ask here.
My supervisor is convinced that you shouldn't put your project (ae, premiere, encore, etc) on the same HD as your footage.
For instance, HD 1 is the projects HD this HD only contains the .prproj, auto save and preview files (HD1/ProjectTitle_project/...). The footage for the same project is stored on a seperate HD (HD2/ProjectTitle_footage/...). The render files are on a third HD (HD3/Scratch/...)
My sollution (since it's more compatible with transferring projects from one editing set to another) is a PROJECT HD with the .prproj files and all the footage, audio, etc in one folder with individual subfolders (PROJECTS/2012_11 ProjectTitle/...) and the render files on a separate HD (SCRATCH/RENDER/...).
The new system is configured like this (at least this is what i think is best)
MAC HD (system drive, only program's and such)
PROJECTS (This is the map where all the projects are based)
SCRATCH (Two partitions, 500 gb for stockfootage, soundeffects, etc., 1,5 tb for rendering etc.)
FINISHED (running projects that shouldn't be transferred completely to the backup disk)
All suggestions for maplist configuration and disk configuration are VERY WELCOME!

This is a copy of ONEof the keys in the registry I changed as told by Apple support today. I also have changed others as instructed by GEAR software support to manually delete GEAR drivers (that I had installed but couldn't delete some of the others they mentioned from Windows system 32. Then some bright spark at work told me I need the Gear drivers so I downloaded the software and installed again.
Sorry, just this minute went to insert image and it is giving me a message saying this sort of content is not allowed?.
The most recent key I altered is in: HKey _local _machine. System\class - 4D36E965-E325-11CEBFC1-08002BE10318. Upper Filter data: Upper filter NTIDrvr SiRem GEARAspiWDN.

Getting problem while installing Snow Leopard (10.6.3) on my Mac Mini. The following issue is showing :

I’m trying to install Windows XP on a system, and Setup gets stuck at the “Setup is inspecting your computer’s hardware configuration” stage
how can I fix it, i turned off and on, and the message still there help pleaseIf you have a PPC Mac, you can't install Windows unless you are using something like Parallels or a virtual application. If you are using Boot Camp, eject the disc, reboot and try again.

I have downloaded AI Trial but on launching I am getting a Configuration Error which reads '

I have tried the restart suggestion, but the problem persists.

I am using an Mac PPC version 10.5.8 and I am trying to download the correct version of Flash Player. I did once but I had to install a "Clean Install" of my computer and when finished I had put back the new Flash Player I just installed well every time I try install the new player it is place in my Trash Folder and I can not get Player to work. I installed a new wireless router on Tues. (May4) up until that time I had no problems using Firefox. Now I cannot get it to open on one computer, and the other it will open but will not load. Wondering if it has anything to do with the router, my provider or our computers. Again, it had been working fine. I am also unable to open interent explorer now on either computer.

I purchased a new computer and transferred itunes to it but now can't get podcasts downloaded after the transfer to sync with device.
So you have these podcasts downloaded and stored in your iTunes library is that correct? However, they will not sync with the device? Are these video or audio podcasts?
How is your Nano currently configured to sync podcasts? You can check this by viewing the iPod's Podcasts configuration tab in iTunes. To view this tab, plug your iPod in and select it from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes to bring yourself to the Summary tab that now shows to the right. Look for the Podcasts tab along the top and select it. Here you can configure how and what Podcasts are synced.
If you do happen to make any changes from under this tab, be sure to hit the Apply button to sync the updated changes to the Nano.

You should be able to just place them in your Books library in iTunes and check to ensure that your Book library is configured to sync to your iPod when you sync your iPod to iTunes.

I have just downloaded Mountain lion on my Macbook Pro(haven't installed it yet) . My question is, can I copy the same downloaded Mountain Lion from the Applications on to an external hard drive and use the same on a different computer? I am having problems with internet connectivity right now, it would be amazing if it can be installed on the iMac without internet connection.
So is that doable?

I recently replaced my dead airport router with a Netgear91-5g router and synced it successfully to my Lexmark Pro 915 printer and my computer; yet when I try to print wirelessly I get the message: "printer not connected; printer offline". Lexmark support verified that my printer was connected to the new router and the problem was with the computer's printer configuration and they could reconfigure it online if I paid for their "Premium Support" services ($119 for one year, 3 fixes). I declined, feeling sure that this is something I could do if I knew how. Could it be an incompatability issue with OS 10.8.3?
You saved me $$$ that I can ill afford on my fixed income. I was very unhappy with the "support" from Lexmark... what a rip off! Thank you dwb!

Communication between the computer and the disc drive failed
The disc can’t be burned because because communication between the computer and the disc drive failed (error code 0x80020022). This computer has been out of the box for less than a month and this has been a growing problem.
My problem was FIXED at the apple store..... there was something wrong in the system preferences and the genius deleted something that recreated it's self. Surely enough we we're able to burn a 600 mb dmg of nothing onto a few test disks. For anyone having this issue...it's NOT The media, it's some configuration issue within the computer's preferences. I'm telling you all to take your machine to the nearest apple store and have them fix it, if your machine is still under warranty the fix is free. There was no hardware issue, so the optical drive was not replaced.

I have a PC computer and an i-phone 4S. I set up an i-tunes acct online w/ icloud. After a recent update my PC started receiving an error message on start up. It says "AppleSyncNotifier.exe - Entry Point Not Found". It also says, " The procedure entry point smlTextreaderConstName could not be located in the dynamic link library libxml2.dll". I click on OK and it moves on. It doesn't seem to affect my computer, but it's annoying. Any ideas on correcting this?
UPDATE - (Made a second post so it'd be clearer)
I uninstalled Office 2003, then iTunes, then all of the associated software (Mobile Device Support, Apple Update, Quicktime, EVERYTHING)
Reinstalled Office 2003, then Office 2003's Service Pack 3, then all Microsoft Updates for Office 2003. Then I configured a blank Outlook profile, no data other than the IMAP info for my .Mac/Me account. Then I downloaded (didn't used my existing copy) of iTunes 7.7 and reinstalled. Sync'd phone. Changed MobileMe settings. Told it to sync contacts and calendar with Outlook. It warned me because it was the first sync. Told it to take ALL of the MobileMe data and replace the data on the computer (which was blank.) NOTHING showed up in Outlook. When I tell it to sync Contacts with the Windows Address Book, it works fine.
In Conclusion, it still won't sync with Outlook, when it's set to Sync with Outlook I still get the annoying MAPI errors. So I switched to to Sync the Contacts with the Windows Address Book, and I'm backing up my WAB file now with my nightly backups.
I suppose we'll see if it gets fixed when I format/reinstall on Vista Ultimate in the next month or two. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm open and willing to try them.
On a completely unproductive note: Despite my love for Exchange, I hate MAPI. -
I am unable to print to a Canon iR-Adv C5045 from a MacBook Pro (OS X 10.9.4) that is connected to Windows NT computer and shared on the company network. I am connected to the network by ethernet.
I was able to add the printer manually by going to Advanced, Windows printer via spoolss, smb://computer name/printer name and used the Canon iR-ADV C5045/5051 driver.
When I print it appears to be printing but nothing comes out. I checked the completed jobs from the Print Queue and the job is listed. Checked the print log on the printer and it isn't listed. Is there a different driver I should be using for this configuration?You may not have a choice as to what driver you can use. If the ADV C5045 only has the default UFR2 printer kit, then you will have to use the UFR2 driver - which is what you are using now. If you can access the copier, press the Counter Check button on the control panel. Then on the display you will see an entry labelled Check Device Configuration. Select this and scroll down through the pages. You are looking for an entry called PS. If you see it then the Canon does have the optional Postscript printer kit enabled and this will let you use an alternate driver. One suggestion would be to create the printer again using the same setting that you have done already but this time select the Generic Postscript driver included with the OS rather than use the Canon driver. This will help to determine if the driver is the cause.
If there is no PS option you will have to use the UFR2 driver and this could be the problem, as the Canon drivers don't always work well on a Mac via a Windows share. As a test, are you able to create a print queue directly to the Canon rather than via the Windows share? If you can, then this will let you check if the driver currently installed will work, as there can be settings on the copier that can block/stop you from printing. Assuming that you can print to the Canon with a direct connection from the Mac, then we can work on getting the printing via the shared queue. But if it doesn't print directly from the Mac, then it confirms that it may not be the server and more to do with the copier.
