My computer is asking for my password to make any changes to the root directory, system and Library folders, and and sub folders within those. I dont recall it doing this in the past. I am logged in as the Administrator.

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.<br />
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".<br />
In the Compatibility tab, make sure that Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" is not selected.<br />
Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program directory.<br />

ICloud always asks for password following email change?

I recently changed my apple email.
But the iCloud on my macbook pro (2009; running Mavericks) will not recognize the new email as being the one for iCloud.
It continuously interrupts what I'm doing and asks for my password.
Any suggestions on how to solve this?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

Computer Asks For Password When None Was Set !

I have just helped my neighbour download MacJanitor.
We opened it and it asked as usual for the password. As he has never (knowingly) made up a password we left the box blank and clicked "Continue" only to be confronted with a message telling us the wrong password had been entered. (A couple of years ago when I didn't have a password, leaving a request box empty always worked for me).
He said something about this type of thing having occurred before!
Any idea what is going on and what he can do about it?
His equipment specs - G5 17" iMac, OSX 10.4.0 , Superdrive - everything bog-standard.

Getting rid of MacJanitor wouldn't solve the problem. Any software that is installed to run maintenance scripts will require authentication for the installation. If it doesn't then I wouldn't install it.
I can recommend some better alternatives to MacJanitor:
Macaroni
Anacron
PseudoAnacron
All three automate the process by running the scripts even if the computer was turned off at the normal time the scripts are set to run. You can find them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

I dowloaded garageband it askedd for my password to make changes and it rejected my pw I use this pw daily to access any suggestions please?

I place in the p/w I use daily and the box shakes not recognising the p/w I know the p/w is correct I use it to enter any suggestions please?

The password you are being prompted for when installing content on your Mac is your computer's administrator password. It might be the same as your login password, but it could be different. If you need to reset your administrator password please follow the instructions in the link below.

I have tested the blogs posts and change the settings in our development environment
and no windows authentication was shown with my username on the SharePoint 2013 environment. But, all related to change IE settings. In our organization, we have around
2000 users. It be impractical to set for users for these IE settings and network team regularly pushes group polices.
Q: Is some configuration has to be set on IIS or
some settings on SharePoint that users don’t get windows authentication? I have tried most of options but could not resolve this issue.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Sites go into the Intranet Zone, not the Trusted Zone. Only Intranet is configured, by default, to automatically pass credentials to SharePoint.
Yes, there are scenarios where this may not work, e.g. if you've configured the Web Application with Kerberos but didn't configure the SPN. Or if you're using Kerberos Constrained Delegation with Domain Controllers older than Server 2012 and your users are
in a different forest, etc.

Startup asking for password never asked before

Why would my imac ask me for a password, never did before. At startup shows my pitcher and below to login. On bottom center of window has shutdown, restart etc...the backround looks like the mission controll backround color silver or grey, I have my computer set not to ask for password.

Open the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences and turn automatic login off and back on. Also ensure it's not disabled in the Security pane and that FileVault isn't enabled for your account.

How can i make my iMac stop asking for passwords?

How on earth can I make my iMac quit asking me for passwords? I've tried a few attempts at resetting Keychain passwords. Nothing I do seems to change any behaviors. I'm also complete noob to Mac so go easy with the jargon. I've even had a session an apple support person and fixed it temporarily.
my imac is current with OS X 10.9.2

If you're trying to back up your device to iCloud, that doesn't have anything to do with your computer. You back up to iCloud over wifi. All you do is go to Settings>iCloud, sign in with your Apple ID to create your account, scroll down and tap Storage & Backup, then turn on iCloud Backup. You can then tap Back Up Now at the bottom to start the back up manually, or lock the screen and connect it to your charger and it will back up automatically every day.

Hi I can't update my apps when I try to update it asks for password when used it goes back to update. I think I'm not alone and have tried changing date switching off signing out and in and rebooting. Is there a solution or do I need to take it in?

I can't update my apps each time it asks for password when entered it goes straight back to update. I don't think I am alone in this. OK...now I appear to 'progressed' I changed my email address back to original on Apple id and then was able to delete icloud account. Apparently I couldnt do it as it kept requesting password when I entered passsword ( both old and new one, it wouldnt accept it as it had my old email address in ) It didnt do that on ios6 . Anyway I deleted account, but now I tried to login in with my new id/password and it says unable as already in use!!! More help needed please! Its a nightmare!!

I changed my password on Airport Express and now can't connect in iTunes. It does not ask for password ,I just see trying to connect and it fails. How do I enter new password in iTunes when it just keeps trying to connect ?

If you have changed your AppleID information or password, you will need to sign out of your existing iCloud or iTunes Store accounts and sign back in with the new information.

- Go to settings>Store and sign out and sign into your account.
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.
