Computer authorised - but not!

I have a half-dozen tracks I purchased from the iTMS, which I have copied from my old iPod, onto my MacBook Pro. I logged into my iTMS account and authorised them to be played on the MBP (which, presumably means I can copy them to my new iPod). It seemed to go through the reauthorisation process and I received a message along the lines of "Authorisation Successful: You have now used up 2 of your 5 permitted authorisations."
I then attempted to play the tracks in iTunes, only to receive an error: - "You are not authorised to play this track on this computer". Eh, what?! I just authorised the computer and was told it was successful! So I tried again. And again. And again. I have now attempted to authorise this computer at least 2 dozen times.
Of course I receive the same error when attempting to copy them to my new iPod.
Is anyone else experiencing issues with (re)authorisation? I should add, in case it wasn't obvious from my spelling, that I'm based in the UK.

As you can imagine, this is more than a little frustrating. I am running 10.4.9 and whatever the most updated version of iTunes is (7.2?)

This may not apply, but I've learned to check: are you sure that when you authorize that you're using the iTunes Store ID that you used when you purchased those tracks? Sometimes people forget that they used a different account for some tracks and so are confused when a track doesn't play.

Just FYI, Apple phone support cannot help with any iTunes Store issues. For iTunes Store problems, you need to use the web forms at the bottoms of most of the pages on the iTunes Store Customer Service site.

  • Can Vid Chat with one computer login, but not the other--HELP!!!

    When I login to my computer using my account, I am unable to video chat. However, when I login using my daughter's login, I can video chat. What gives? As far as I can see the settings are all the same. I can get as far as sending an invitation to video chat with somebody, but then it just churns while waiting for the other person to accept the invitation. In other words, they accept, but the last connection step doesn't happen. It happens when I'm logged in under my daughter's computer login, but not mine. Also, when I get an invitation to video chat, the same thing happens. I accept and then it just sits and churns waiting for that last step. I have a .Mac account and she has an AIM account, but it doesn't help when I switch to my AIM account. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

    Go to Users/(your account)/Library/Preferences and delete com.apple.ichat.AIM.plist and restart iChat.

  • Voice Memos shows in computer iTunes but not on iphone

    Now, I have iphone 5, OS 8.1 (Powerbook Pro OS 10.6.8).
    Earlier OS, I used to be able to enjoyed and managed the Voice Memos from iPhone to the computer iTunes Playlists, then selected and dragged it to a new playlist. Once I synced the new playlist back to the iphone, I could play it back repeatedly under Music on the iphone. (if play under the Voice Memos on iphone as you know it won't repeat and stops all tasks).
    Now, even though the new playlist with the voice memos shows in the computer iTunes,  but once I sync it to the iphone the new playlist with the voice memos will no longer show on the iphone. (again, the reason I do so, because, if played under the Voice Memos it won't auto repeat and stops all tasks).
    Suggestions Please.

    Note: I tried to converted the Kind from ACC to MP3 or MPEG.
             I tried to drop the Voice Memos item to the old PlayLists( songs), once it synced to the iphone the playlist will show with songs in it but not the voice     memos item.

    Instead of converted the Kind from ACC to MP3,  just changed the media kind from voice memo to music.
    It works again now! It took me 6 months to get to this point.

  • 2nd gen ipod shuffle will charge with one computer (vista) but not the other computer (windows 8).  Please help!

    My 2nd gen ipod shuffle will charge on my old vitsta computer but not my new windows 8 computer. Does anyone know why that might be? The new computer recognizes the ipod and I can see everything on it, change settings, etc. it just won't charge. Is there a reason as to why this should be happening?

  • DVD Plays on computer drives, but not on dvd players

    iDVD 06 - This is a new problem, just happened two days ago. Previous dvd's burned with idvd 06 work just fine on old and new dvd players. I always test them after burning. However this new project will only play on computer dvd drives (mac or pc) but not on my dvd players. The menu screen shows up, but when the play button is pushed it never starts. Disk is clean, re-burned dvd, re-exported the video and re-did the entire dvd, same issue. I have not changed any settings in iDVD 06.
    Yes, I even re-installed idvd 06, but then somehow I lost some of my old themes (which happened to be the ones I wanted to use) I did back up my previous copy of idvd 06 which has my old plain themes that I love to use in the package, so I do have those. But if I bring them into the newley re-installed idvd 06, all the features do not work. Such as being able to change the type size on that paticular menu.
    I am using Verbatim 8X DVD-R's and have successfully used these just the other day on another project! And those work just fine on an old and new dvd player!
    I had to get these dvd's because my burner would not burn on the 16X DVD-R's that I recently bought.

    No rhyme or reason... but tried one more time after putting back my old copy of idvd 06 with my oldest themes in it, and I now have DVD's that will play on regular DVD players!
    Now, if Apple could just get us a firmware update for the SONY DVD RW DW-U10A which came with my G-5 and then maybe we could all burn disks at the new 16X speed! Instead of limiting our possibilites.
    Oh and yes, I did contact Sony about firmware updates. They informed me that this is really an OEM drive (whatever that is) and that Sony does not support it!

  • Photosmart 7960 worked fine with old computer (XP), but not with new computer (W7)

    Recently replaced my HP Pavilion a650Y running XP with custom-built running Win 7-64.  7960 printer worked fine w/ XP and worked (test page) once with Win 7-64.  Now when I try to print, job shows up in print que, bur printer goes off-line and gives me "printer error" message.  I can print test page from printer front panel, so I know printer is working, but can't print anything from computer.

    I'm running a mic into my digital audio interface, which connects via Firewire to my computer.  The mic input is mapped to an audio channel strip.  When I attempt to run sound out using the stereo out on my computer, it works okay for about 10 seconds, but then starts progressively becoming more distorted.  At first, I thought it might be a bit rate issue, so I dropped it down very low.  This corrected it momentarily, but, again, after about 10 seconds, the distortion came back.  When I change the output to one of the audio outs on my digital audio interface though, it works fine.  However, I don't have the Y cable I'd need to take 2 of the mono audio outs on that device and merge them into a stereo out that I could plug into my computer speakers (that's all I've got right now), so I'm stuck with mono out.  Do you know why I'm getting this distortion on my computer's line out?  I don't have audio distortion problems if I'm watching Hulu or anything, and my Saffire drivers appear to be up-to-date and Focusrite says the device is supposed to be compatible with Mountain Lion.  Help is much appreciated!

  • How could the website look fine on my computer.. but not on another.

    In one of my websites www.acsmechanical.net, the images aren't lining up with the background I created. I got it to look right on my computer, but when I use another computer and go to the site there is a "gap". Different screen resolution maybe?     I'm sorry, I fired off my repy without seeing that you had asked on how to solve the issue.
    I think the problem is your using tables, they are always hard to line up in that fashion.  With the way you have the overlapping, it would take some doing with <div> tags, but it looks doable.
    If no one provides yhou with the anwer, I will try to look at it later tonight, have to run off soon.

    Most computer USB ports don't output enough power to charge an iPad, or they only do it VERY slowly. You're best off using the wall charger that came with it.

  • No messages are dowloading for one account, but two others are working. Server settings are fine, messages are dowloading on another computer OK, but not mine.

    My thunderbird has stopped downloading messages in one of my accounts, the other two accounts, from different providers, are working fine.
    We have two PC's downloading messages from the same account, and it has worked fine like this for years. The other PC is still receiving the messages. I've checked my webmail, and can log in fine there, the settings in my account have not been changed in Thunderbird, and are the same as the other PC.
    I looked in the error console in Thunderbird, this is what message I get :

    Error: An error occurred during a connection to pop3.vianet.ca:110.

    Can windows 8.1 access Windows Server 2008R2?
    Also,please check the event viewer to see if some error log appeared when the issue occurred.
