Computer authorization - I only have 1

Hi,
My hard drive on my laptop recently took a crap and needed to be cloned and swapped out. I didn't think to deauthorize that hard drive and now I can't play any songs that I purchased on my new hard drive. I followed all the steps on the computer deauthorization section but it says that we have 5 authorizations and I only seem to have one. There is no link to authorize any more. Please someone help me figure out how to deauthorize the hard drive I no longer have access to and/or obtain more authorizations!

If you reached the limit of 5 authorisations, you have the option once a year to deauthorise them all in one go:

I have the same problem. Right now my iPhone 5S shows 3 instances of the computer to which it is connected under Settings » General » iTunes WiFi Sync. I'm having problems connecting and syncing, and this is probably the cause: the phone chooses one of these connections, and it isn't the one that's actually in use. What's probably happening is that the phone and computer establish a connection using a dynamic IP address, the address becomes "disassociated" due to error, another address is associated, the phone retains each address/link, and each link is displayed as if it represents a separate computer (the fact that the name of the computer is identical is ignored, as the only thing that is considered important is the IP address). But that's all conjecture. More important, I'm not sure how to fix the problem. A network reset doesn't do it.

iTunes match will only work from a computer in terms of uploading new content. You should be able to copy iTunes purchases back via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iTunes 11). About De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
1. Open iTunes on a computer
2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

ITunes repeatedly prompts for computer authorization for only one song

I already tried apple recommended resolutions but unfortunately they were not my resolution. Only one song after purchasing lots of others cannot be played because it asks computer authorization. I'm using windows 7 and itunes is the most recent. Now no one in apple is replying to my email. Did anyone have the similar case like this and solved,, please suggest the solution!

I just solved by myself. I signed on to another computer's itunes and downloaded the song. It looks like no better solution out there. I hope anyone else who encountered the same problem - for the first time and frustrated badly like me - get help from this.

Reformatted my computer so i only have the songs in my ipod

Hi, I just reformatted my computer today and reinstalled itunes. Unforunately, I lost all the data stored in itunes, including my 797 songs. However, I still have the songs in my ipod. So is there any way to transfer the songs from my ipod to itunes?

When I sync my ipod with itunes i am told that 96 of my songs are not authorized on this computer. I follow the directions to authorize and the message answers that I have 5 computers and this is the only one authorized. I only have one computer. How do I get itunes to sync those 96 songs???

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. If you are out of authorizations but only have 1 computer, deauthorizing all computers and reauthorizing your correct computer might be a good idea. See this article for instructions:

HT204074 Is "Deauthorize All" my only option for Computer Authorizations?

According to the support pages I have read, I should be able to "Manage Devices" on the Account Information page. But I only have "Deauthorize All" as an option. I'm I missing something? I'm I not looking in the right place? Is "Deauthorize All" my only option for Computer Authorizations?

On AT&T, 450 minutes, 200SMS (200SMS is no longer offered) and unlimited data for $80.40 after taxes.

I have recently purchased a new lap top. Both my wife and I share our Itune music. When I purchesed the computer I was able to authorize my itunes account on it and move my purchaced music over from my iphone. However, I was not able to move my wifes music over because she has too many devices authorized under her account. Most of those computers are no longer in our possession and have been thrown out. Authorizing deauthorizing has NO effect at all on your itunes library. You lose nothing.
You should also alwasy have a backup copy.
You MUST deauthorize all.
You have the only answer there is.

I have made several purchases from the Apple Store, But when I tried to access them I receive a message that says 'Your computer is not authorized to play this track/album'. So I try to authorize and another message says 'You cannot authorize 5 computers at once.' What does this mean? I only have this one computer.

At some point other computers were autorized on your account.
Open iTunes and go to the iTunes store > Accounrs (in Quick Links section on the right) > sign in > From the you can use the Deauthorize All option. Apple limits use of this to once a year. After all are deauthorized you will be able to authorize your computer.
