Computer can't handle multi cam?

I am new to Premiere Pro CC, I have only been using it almost two days. I come from years of Final Cut Pro. Here is the issue:
If I have 8 high quality camera takes, like a music video, and I want to edit it by doing it with multi-cam, obviously, even though I have a powerful computer, it's not powerful enough to handle 8 camera's of really large footage.
Now, in Final Cut Pro X, this was easy. All I had to do was select the files I wanted in multi-cam and click, "Create Proxy Media," then I had to click, "Play proxy media and not original," in preferences. I edited the video, then when I was finished and wanted to export, all I had to do was go back to the preferences, uncheck, "Play proxy media," and the multi-cam would automatically now be switched to the original media, not the proxy media. Thus, exporting the high quality files.
I have looked at tutorials and around the internet, I cannot find how to go about this in Premiere Pro CC. I know how to create the multi cam in Premiere Pro CC but as I said, I'm not going to be able to play it back.
So, how do I create small play back footage such as proxies, and then turn that off when I'm ready to export and have it replaced with the original footage?

yes, you can try to relink to the originals when time to export. most of the time it will relink fine, but once in a while it goes haywire. the relink doesn't work when swapping out certain different media types, so best to test it all out first before getting stuck with a bad relink after editing is done.
using preview renders is limited, if you apply any effects to the footage it will have to make new preview renders, vs applying effects to a proxy file that wont need to be re-rendered. so its sorta easier just to do it once as proxy and not have to fight preview renders, or worry about the lost preview render bugs.

  • My computer can not detect a camera on my iphone 4S

When I connect my phone to my computer, it says it can not detect a camera and I can't download my pictures/videos.  How can I fix this?

gdgmacguy asked for the OS your computer is running, why exactly did you think anyone wanted to know the version of iTunes on the computer?
Seems like there may be a user issue here.  Try replacing the user, see if that resolves the problem.

  • My computer can't read the camera album for my iPhone 5 after updating to ios 7

My iPhone 5 was recently updated to iOS 7 and now, it's camera album photos cannot be detected by my computer. Any advice on what to do???

All lightening connectors sold by Apple, or by companies officially licensed by Apple to sell the technology, have microchips in them indicating the technology is legally licensed to be used.  Prior to iOS, Apple was not enforcing checks on that.  However, with iOS 7, the system actually now checks the chips, and devices from manufacturers using the technology illegally are being blocked.
You effectively have hardware that uses illegal, pirated technology owned by Apple, and Apple is clamping down on such producers.  In part I'm sure because some of the illegal devices have been causing complaints and problems from damage to devices and hazards to consumers.
At least in the USA and UK (and elsewhere I believe) you can bring the illegal hardware into Apple and exchange it for an Apple device for $10 (see http://www.apple.com/support/usbadapter-takeback)

  • Software issue, computer can't recognize Canon camera

    First time poster...
Running Vista 64-bit on a brand new computer... purchased a Blackerry Bold. Everything was running fine on the computer until I installed Blackberry software. Software stopped running... didn't do much anyway. When I installed Blackberry software, I noticed it also did some stuffwith Roxio.
I did an uninstall with windows only for the Blackberry... and didn't manually pull any stuff out of the registry.
I now have a computer that now won't recognize my Canon digital camera.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the Canon Zoom Browser... and tried various restore points for Vista that failed (just before I installed the Blackberry software). Notice on the restore registry the date software was installed, seperate entry for Roxio, and an uninstall for Roxio only. Did not notice an uninstall for Blackeberry... however it is nowhere to be found.
Anyone know a fix for the computer to recognize the camera again?
    Thanks,
    Richard

New Macbook Air. Used migration from a Powerbook G4 that had 10.5.2 installed on it. I now can't launch my Canon CameraWindow software - I get "No camera attached." I also can't get ImageCapture to work. IC will open and seem to download the photos to the desktop but they don't appear on the desktop. I can't find them anywhere. Both software apps work fine on the G4 and also on my regular MacBook. The ImageCapture sees the camera and even tells me how many photos are on it. System Profile sees the Canon attached to the USB.
Be sure your Canon software runs on Intel platforms. You were using a PPC before. Most, if not all PPC software is not Leopard compatible. You need all new apps for these things when you run an Intel-based system.

  • HOW CAN I DO MULTI CAM EDITING, OR MULTI CLIP EDITING

I want to know how i could do mulit cam editing or multiclip editing with final cut express.

Here's how I did it a few times:
    1. Add video tracks (and audio tracks if needed) to your timeline to equal the number of cameras you have. Of course if you have more than 4 this will start to get impractical.
    2. Edit in your clips from your different camera angles, one to each video track.
    3. Double click each clip in turn to get it into the viewer and click the Motion tab. Change its scale to 50%.
    4. Select each clip in turn in the timeline and move it to one corner of the canvas. You need to have "image + wireframe" selected in the Canvas popup menu in order to move it with the mouse.
You should now have up to 4 different camera angles shown at the same time in the Canvas, each in its own quadrant.
    5. Now the hard part is to align each clip according to time. Hopefully you have some sort of visual cue you can use to align the clips.
    6. Then play through the timeline and use the razor tool to cut the clips where you want a camera angle change.
    7. Select each camera angle piece you want from each cut you made and change its scale back to 100% and center it at 0,0. Delete the unused clips.
    8. If you want, you can move all the clips that remain back to v1 so that you can use transitions between them.
What to do with all the various audio is another question. I usually use the audio from the best source all the way through, only changing to the other camera angle's audio when necessary.

  • Bug?: Tabular Form function "addRow" can't handle multi-line Row Templates

    Hi all,
i created a custom Report Template (Named Column Row Template) which creates 2 lines per Record (which in fact is 2 rows in a HTML table).
In the APEX function initTabForm (apex_4_0.js) the sample row (f01_0000) is read and stored in gTabFormInitRow
This is done by using a jQuery Selector like this: jQuery('#init_row_'+pRegionID) which returns only the first row of my multiline record.
Is this behaviour intended or is it a bug? Or do i have to change my HTML structure?
    brgds,

    Hi Marc,
    thanks for the quick reply.
I was afraid you would say it is intended behavior :-)
A table per row has the disadvantage of loosing the automatic column width, i would have to set the column width to a fixed value to maintain a nice look.
Well, thanks for the moment, i'll try to find a general solution and (if i succeed) get back to you.

  • Brand new MacBook Pro can't handle 720p Video in iMovie?

Well, my Black 2.0 GHz Core Duo MacBook has been replaced by the new 13" 2.26 Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro (I had to pay the difference) and I had it upgraded to 4GB of Ram and a 320GB Hard Drive!
I use a Kodak z1085 IS Digital Camera that records videos in 720p quality. When I import them into iMovie '09, I get this message:
This is the same thing that I got on my Core Duo MacBook. If I did not optimize the video, it would play choppy and could not keep up. On my new MacBook Pro, I still get this message saying that "my computer can't handle it." I can undersatnd my old Core Duo MacBook not being able to handle it, but when a brand new $2000 MacBook Pro can't handle 720p video, somthing has to be wrong here.
Are there cretin specs that indicate what computer can handle what? I'm guessing that this MacBook Pro CAN handle it, but why am I still getting that message? Do I need a $10,000 Mac Pro Tower system to make it happy?
Can anyone please explain this and help me out?
    Thanks,
    Scott

    +Well... for starters, the 2.26GHz MB Pro is not a $2,000 machine.+
Sorry...$1.5 thousand. Still too much for a brand machine that isn't "powerful enough" to run software that came out before the computer did.
+For all intents and purposes, it's an entry level notebook (despite the name "Pro")... with only slightly higher specifications than the white MacBook.+
So its only slightly better then the model that can only handle solitaire or any other basic application? I find it odd Apple would include iLife if these machines can't handle all of the features that they are supposed to. Pro means professional. that means this machine should be able to handle PRO applications like Final Cut, etc. But how can it if it can't even handle iMovie! Not to mention they screwed us out of using the old version...so I am stuck using this version!
+I'm not exactly sure what you mean when you say your black MacBook was replaced by a new 2.26GHz machine... but you had to pay the difference... It sounds like you were perhaps having problems with your MacBook and Apple allowed you to upgrade to the newest version paying something additional. If that's the case, it sounds like they were very generous as you had a first gen MacBook that was about three years old.+
Yes that is exactly what happened. My Black MacBook had many issues. I sent it in for repair three times and even took it to an Apple store when I was on vacation. (don't have any apple stores where I live) All of these repairs did not fix the problems and they kept on coming! So they offered to just replace it. But they don't sell the Black MacBook anymore. Only the white...and I don't like the white (thats why I bought the black!) so that is when they offered me the MacBook Pro if I paid the difference. In which I did. So that is how I got my new MacBook Pro.
+Are you saying that your video plays choppy on your new machine... or just that you get the message stating that it may play poorly?+
Both....It shows that message, and does play somewhat choppy. Not as choppy as the old MacBook though.
Like I said, I'd just like to know what Apple calls "good enough" so it doesn't display that warning.

  • Premiere becomes completely unresponsive during multi-cam preview

While editing a 5 camera multi-cam project, Premiere completely locks me out during playback of the project.  It's like my user interface just completely died.  The project plays and nothing I do will stop it.  Autosaves do not occur and I am forced to wait an hour for the whole timeline to play (haven't waited to see if I get control even after then) or 'end task' to kill the Premiere application, thus losing all my work up until the last save.  I have had moments where Premiere locked my out for a few seconds, but I always managed to eventually get control.  The last 2 times I never got control back.
I'm running the latest version of Premiere CC on Windows 8.1.
Any help in how to interrupt Premiere's coma in this situation would be greatly appreciated.  Really sucks doing the same work 3+ times over.
    Michael

    i3770k 16gb RAM.... I don't think that's the problem.
I called Adobe Tech Support and they located the problem.  I had the wrong sequence settings, which had the wrong preview format (codec).  Apparently, the best way to create a sequence with a multi-cam track is to right-click on the multi-cam clip and select 'create sequence".  This way Premiere chooses the optimal preview format for the video clip types it contains.  And this is the only way to get Premiere to optimally handle multi-cam clips with various different video formats properly, such as mine.
I don't understand why one even has to worry about this sort of thing.  Why shouldn't Premiere ALWAYS choose the optimal playback format?  Coming from other editors I always found it really weird in Premiere that I had to select a sequence preset that was related to the video format I was editing.  For one thing, many projects have mixed format types so this system that Premiere employs seems flawed and outdated.
Anyways, eventhough Premiere still drops a few frames during playback of my five 1080p streams, I can now edit and watch the multi-cam preview without fear of being completely locked out and losing control of Premiere.

  • Viewing multi-cam monitor for multi-cam sequences not on track 1

    Hi,
I just found out that the multi-cam monitor in the Program Monitor goes blank if the multi-cam sequence is not on track 1. Is there a way to fix this? Thank you in advance.

How do you toggle the track targeting so that you can see the multi-cam preview for two stacked multi-cam sequences? I'd like to cut between different takes and it'd be a pain to toggle every time. Final Cut Pro has no problem of doing this but it seems that Premiere is a little picky about track targeting. I attached an example of how the project would look like going through two takes of multi-cam sequences.

  • Editing more than 4 clips using the multi-cam function. cs5.5

How can I edit more than 4 clips at a time using the multi-cam function in 5.5?

Ok, here's what I have so far...I managed to split up the video and edited both in the multi-camera view. Now I want to join those together so that I can use the multi-camera view to edit them together. Is there a way to do that? I tried nesting them both and laying them on the same timeline to use the multi-camera function, but now, I only get one view again. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Thanks for your help so far also. This is very interesting!

  • Multi-Cam Monitor on Regular Sequence?

can you use Multi-cam monitor on a "Regular Sequence" or can you only use it on a "Multi-Camera Source Sequence.

I don't understand the point of the question.  If you have multiple cameras you need to cut between, you use the Multicam feature of PP.  If you don't, then what would be the point in wanting to use the multicam monitor?

  • How do I enable "create multi-cam source sequence" option?

I am trying to create a multi-cam sequence of an interview. I have one audio file (.wav) and two different camera angles (.mov's). I highlight all three and right click, but the "Create Multi-Cam Source Sequence" option is disabled. I tried going to Clip in the menu as well. No luck. How do I enable this so I can create a multi-cam sequence?

If you are in Premiere version CS6, unselect the audio and sync your video with in or out points, timecode or clip marker. I am assuming you are prior version CC as I believe audio disables 'creating multicam source sequence'. Versions CC and beyond have the ability to sync with audio, so not sure as to why your option is greyed out.
