Computer can't recognize scanner

how do i get my computer to recognize the scanner (Panasonic KB-S2046C) it's adobe acrobat 9.0 standard? I get the error message 162,0,0

    Here are some suggestions:
    1) Check the manual the Keithley manual to see how to configure the RS-232.   
        On some models you need set Factory defaults to USER and turn on the RS-232.   
        Also there may be a setting for SCPI which you want on (probably on by default).
    2) On your PC - open Device Manager. See if a COM port exists and is functional.
         You must get this working before continuing.
          You can set the COM port parameters by right clicking and selecting Properties.  
         (On some PCs the onboard ports can be disabled in the BIOS)
    3) If step two was OK, open MAX (Measurement and Automation eXplorer).      
        On the left side, click on Devices and Hardware.   
        Click on Serial and Parallel.   
        Go to the COM port you found in Device Manager.   
        Open a VISA Test Panel.
        Now I don't have one I can look at right now, so this is general idea:
       Configure the COM port to match the Keithley settings (should be OK if step 2 worked)  
       Go to the (I think) Input Output tab (you want to send a command)   
       The command string input should already have a *IDN? entered, if not, type it in.   
       Click on the Query button to send the command and check the response.  
       If you get an ID string back (Company name, Model, FW Version ...) then it works.   
       (Disregard an error saying it did not get enough charcters back.)

  • Software issue, computer can't recognize Canon camera

    First time poster... 
    Running Vista 64-bit on a brand new computer... purchased a Blackerry Bold. Everything was running fine on the computer until I installed Blackberry software. Software stopped running... didn't do much anyway. When I installed Blackberry software, I noticed it also did some stuffwith Roxio.
    I did an uninstall with windows only for the Blackberry... and didn't manually pull any stuff out of the registry.
    I now have a computer that now won't recognize my Canon digital camera.
    I uninstalled and reinstalled the Canon Zoom Browser... and tried various restore points for Vista that failed (just before I installed the Blackberry software). Notice on the restore registry the date software was installed, seperate entry for Roxio, and an uninstall for Roxio only. Did not notice an uninstall for Blackeberry... however it is nowhere to be found.
    Anyone know a fix for the computer to recognize the camera again?

    When I turned the computer on today, bluetooth just suddenly won't recognize my keyboard.
    I tried Bluetooth Keyboard Assistant, and it says "No keyboards have been found, please make sure keyboard is "discoverable".
    I just replace the battery, nothing changed.
    I restarted and restarted and kept getting the same results (the machine searches for the device and returns with a "no keyboards found, make sure keyboard is discoverable".
    This Mac and keyboard is new, just over 2 months old.
    My bluetooth mouse is working fine and appears on the bluetooth devices list.
    Just somehow the keyboard mysteriously disappeared.
    Anyone have a clue what's happening?

    I tried that. If I repeat this process enough sometimes bluetooth finds it, but when I type the passkey no., it cycles through the same "please make sure your keyboard is discoverable".
    I'm searching the forums and it appears this Mac wireless keyboard/bluetooth is a chronic problem.

  • How can I restore my iPod Touch if my computer can't recognize it?

    So I was downloading new apps from my ipod touch. I tried playing a game I had downloaded and after a few seconds the game would crash. This happened various times so I decided to reboot my ipod to see if it would work fine. After rebooting it, it wont turn back on, it justs stays at the screen with the apple logo. I left it there rebooting for several hours but still nothing would happen. I tried connecting it to my Mac to see if I could restore it but it won't even recognize it. I tried to reboot it several times afterwards but still nothing happens. I have my ipod Jailbroken but this has never happened before, and I have rebooted it before and it turns back on normally.

    Unauthorized modification of iOS has been a major source of instability, disruption of services, and other issues
    Also, jalbreaking voids the Apple warranty and mean that Apple will not provide support. That includes support form this Apple forum.

    The device (phone) side only support "PC Suite" mode, there is no "Ovi Suite" mode.
    The phone can connect as Massive Storage or PC Suite mode without any problem. But Ovi Suite does not detect the phone at all.
    Ovi Suite      version is 2.2.1.23
    Phone Software version is 12.2.082
    Why?

    I can see other discs such as music and stuff so I know I have installed it correctly but how come I can't see the blank disc that I need to burn?

    You can't burn discs remotely, you can only read data discs remotely (i.e. you cannot play movie DVDs either).
    Either copy the files to the remote computer or get an external drive.

    My HP laptop always use to recognize my Iphone 4 then all of the sudden stopped. I have been trying to transfer pictures and it does not see that any device or camera is plugged in to it like it use to. I have VISTA on my computer. When I go to My Computer it doesnt show anything is even plugged into the USB port. I tried all 3 ports on the laptop. The Windows help assistant talks about needing a driver..basically a software disc to load any new divice onto the computer. How would I get a driver for the Iphone?? I never needed that before.     Hi..Yes, I Tunes is installed on the computer. I sync with it no problem. I am trying to get the pictures from my Iphone onto my computer. When I use to plug the phone in I would get a pop up from Windows saying do you want to transfer pics to computer, do you want them to erase off phone once transfered, etc. Now I do not get the pop up. It is like the computer no longer recognizes that my Iphone is plugged in. Technically the pics are on my computer in the Photo Stream folder..but I want to actually transfer them off the phone.
