Computer cannot recognize Zen V Plus

My computer does not seem to be able to recognize my Zen V Plus. When I plug the player into the computer, the Zen is able to charge the battery, but I cannot access it in any way through the PC. Creative MediaSource does not detect it, Windows Media Player does not detect it, and Windows Explorer itself says nothing is connected. When I check the Device Manager it shows the Zen there, with a yellow exclamation mark. Checking the properties of the player shows the message "This device cannot start. (Code 0)"
I'm running Windows Vist 32-Bit.
Any ideas?

I don?s use Vista but I know something that might help if you haven?t done it already. That being, uninstall and then reinstall the Creative Software. Regardless of what operating system you are using, software (any software) sometimes does not install properly the first time. I?ve run into this myself with other programs - not Creatives software. After reinstalling, everything worked fine.
Another thing to?try is using the reset button?on your unit. I'd try that first before you reinstall the software.
Good luck!!

  • "USB Device not recognized" -- Computer cannot recognize ipod.

My computer (HP laptop) just, out of nowhere, stoped recognizing my ipod.
The message that comes up is "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows cannot recognize it." It comes up as an "Unknown device" instead of a USB Mass Starage Device or an ipod.
The only reason this problem may have occored is because my friend borrowed it and tried to hook it up to her computer, which is Windows Vista. (Mine is Windows XP) I did not know she was going to hook it up to her computer, so I'm not sure what could have happened. Is there any like between hooking an ipod up to Windows Vista and then trying to hook it up to Windows XP?
I've seen that a lot of other people have had this problem too, but I haven't found any solutions yet. I've tried everything in suport--The 5 R's, Changing to disk mode, chicking my USB drives, ect. I realy would rather not take it to an ipod store, because it costs money.
    Any solutions?

I would be interested in any responses to this problem. We have 2 1st generation nanos and last week both of them stopped being recognized by our computer. We also have 2 2nd generation nanos and a 3rd generation nano. The 2nd and 3rd generation nanos are working fine but both of the 1st generation are having the same issue as RachelRocketship's. We have tried the same solutions that she has with no luck.

  • WMP won't recognize Zen V Plus

I have a Creative Zen V Plus and Windows Media Player doesn't recognize it. It shows up in device manager and as a seperate dri've when I plug it into the USB.
I have updated all firmware, re-booted the mp3 player, checked that all USB ports have power, re-installed the software and downlaoded Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center 6. for Windows Vista. All of which did nothing.
The Customer Support at Creative says it is a windows issue, HP says it's a Creative issue. Any suggestions on how I can fix this?
    Thanks.

After switching from Win XP to Vista I needed a new way to organize playlists on my Zen V Plus, and I just could not get used to Windows Media Player. Then I discovered MediaMonkey, and to me it is *so* much more intuiti've. I am using it mostly for podcasts, but it looks like it does just everything, and it is free.

  • My computer cannot recognize my Ipod

When I plug my ipod into my computer it says the device has malfunctioned and windows cannot recognize it.

    - Try resetting the iPod.  Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Does the iPod work OK?

  • Creative software won't recognize Zen V plus

,C I am running Vista. Trying to transfer a playlist form the Creative Medisource 5 Organizer and when I click on Transfer Playlist it tells me the no Creative mp3 player is found. I can go to "Computer" and it shows up there and I can explore it through Windows. Is there something else I need to install?

  • Computer wont recognize Zen visio

    Hi,
I recently bought a creative zen vision M. I like it a lot. But, the computer does not recognize it. I have another USB cable which I also used to try, but is still doesn't work. Then, I tried another USB port, but it still doesn't work. Now I'm getting desperate, so I use the removable hard dri've option, and the computer, and all my media players recognizes it! And, I can put, and sync with all programs!. So what can I do?

  • Computer cannot communicate with 8600 plus

My Officejet 8600 Plus has been working fine on a wireless network for about a year but after restarting the computer yesterday morning, I keep getting the message "...cannot communicate with the printer".  I've tried all suggestions listed below to no avail.  I can access the printer's ews page from the computer and I receive my apps over the internet nightly. I've Ran the network test from the printer and everything passes.  The network configuration page shows the printer to be connected and ready with the correct ip address.  I ran the HP print and scan doctor and it shows everything is working.  I also ran the Windows troubleshooter and it showed no problems with "the printer is ready".  I've disconnected the router, printer and restarted Windows.  I removed the printer via the "devices and printers" window as well as the HP software.  I reinstalled the software, connected the printer and ran the wireless setup.  I updated the ip address on windows.  All to no avail.  Any help would be appreciated.

Rats - sounds frustrating - and you have done your homework, too!
    OK... Ideas:
There is a new firmware update for the printer
    HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer - N911g Drivers & Downloads
Try a static IP address on the router side
If you have a Notebook, try this Hard Driver Reset on the Notebook side:

    OR

If you are NOT using Sharing, try turning OFF IPV6

  • HT1363 i have an ipod classic 120gb. it has a white screen although i can hear the sound of the click wheel and even songs would play.but once dicharged ,my computer cannot recognize it please help

I bought an ipod classic 120gb in 2008. once by mistake it went in along with laundry in washing machine. I kept it under the sun to let it dry and tried to start it but it wouldn't.I kept it for charging and it started normally.after around 1 month when it got fully discharged i again kept it for chargin but it showed white screen.Although i could hear the sound of clickwheel and songs too but the screen remained white..Some suggested to replace the screen. Please help

It's likely that the moisture fried some of the internal components of the device. You'll need to take or send your iPod in for service/repair.  Apple will do an out of warranty exchange versus actually repairing the device as a third party service would do.

  • Cannot uninstall Zen Nano Plus Softwa

By this, I mean that clicking "change/remove" in "Add or Remove Programs" brings no response. Is there any reason to be experiencing this?
    Thanks in advance.

This normally means that you have a problem in the Windows Registry - you click on an entry in Add/Remove Programs, it looks in the Registry to find where the uninstall information is kept and then carries out the uninstall. Either the registry entry is missing or the uninstall info is missing. Strange as it may sound, try installing the software again first and then uninstall it. PB

  • Zen V Plus keeps connecting and then disconnecting to the computer. HEL

So when I plug in my Zen V Plus into the computer using the USB cable, it pops up in windows XP as usual, but then 2 seconds later it disconects. I move it to the side and it re-connects, then 2 seconds later it disconects again. Can anyone tell me what's going on with my Zen??Thank you !!

I cannot guarantee that this is the answer to your question (I'm not an electrical engineer), but the same thing happened when I tried once to charge my Zen V Plus at work. But after reading this forum for a while, I came to the conclusion that the Zen waits for a specific signal from the USB port that says it's okay to charge it. If it doesn't get the signal, it goes to "sleep" for a while, then wakes up to check again. If still no "okay" signal is received, it cycles back and forth between sleeping and checking. That's why the screen lights up, then goes off for a while, then lights up again.
This is a GOOD thing I guess because it means I don't have to do the "disconnect USB dri've" thing since the Zen knows when it's receiving power.
At home I don't experience this behavior.

  • Computer won't recognize Zen V plu

The same thing happened about a month ago, the computer won't recognize my 2gb zen v plus.. Then I just reinstalled the programs, and everything was normal. It recharges my player normally, but I can't add any songs, videos, pictures etc. The player hasn't fallen down or anything. It's about 6 months old (bought in October. When I open My Computer, there isn't even a removable disc or sth. So, could anyone give me some advise?

When I purchased my Sleek Photo last spring, I had the exact same problem. My PC via Windows Update was up to date, and I knew it wasn't my hardware, USB drivers, etc. as I have another player (a Rio) that worked fine. I found this thread, and followed what the poster <EM>DM</EM> had said. This worked perfectly, make sure you follow the directions, and see if your PC is compatable with DM's fix. I hope this hel

  • ZEN V PLUS ISNT RECOGNIZ

Media Source or Media Explorer says its not connected when it is. I tried almost everything, here a few symtoms
    - I dont have a MTP category under device manager
    - MP3 is only half way charged (could that be the reason?)
    - I have USB .
    - Windows recognizes it when i connected it to the USB, then says I need to instal the hardware. When I let it auto scan to find the driver it cant find it. Where is it specifically on the CD so i can point to it's
    - Zen V Plus is listed under Device Manager as Other Devices with a "!". When i right click it it says "This device is not configured correctly. (Code )
To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver."
Plz HELP ME! Im getting so frustrated that if I cant fix it tonight Im going to return itMessage Edited by xxmithuxx on 02--200709:50 AM

Try putting the cd in, go back to device manager, and click reinstall driver? I'm not sure. Also, do you have Service pack or 2 installed? One of these service packs is required, and WMP0 has the driver actually needed for the Zen to be recognized. So if you have , try rolling back to 0, then going back. Go to www.microsoft.com and search for Problems with Zen Devices. Should find relati've info.
