Computer Clock set to date before Jan 1 2008

I woke up this morning to find my iMac (less than a year old) showing a message "Your computer clock is set to a date before Jan. 1, 2008..." Also, there were other pop-up windows on the screen saying "krb5kdc", "configd", etc. were not responding or something and that it may cause applications to behave eratically. The computer worked fine yesterday up until bedtime. No power surges, no new installations or anything. Also, I did a virus scan that came up clean. I had to manually set the date and time. Oh, and now it won't recognize my home network and I shut the entire network down and restarted it but the iMac still won't recognize the network even though the checkbox to remember the password is checked every time. Once I get to Safari, it won't connect to internet yet shows full connection. And I clicked to open the Pages program and it took about 5 minutes to start up. Any ideas what has happened??

Exact same thing happened to my MacBook air, except the date was march 24th 2001. I've tried everything with the network including base station resets, manual ip config, repairing permissions etc. Nothing works. I agree the solution is probably to reinstall the os and restore from time machine but that poses a problem with the air since I need a wireless network to access the remote disc feature, unless I can find a SuperDrive. If anyone thinks of an alternative solution please let me know.

  • My MacBook pro says clock is set to date before January 1 2008

How I I get my MacBook pro to rese to the correct time? It has done this before and when restarted it is back to normal. It seems to happen when the battery goes dead. This time it won't correct the problem itself.

It seems to happen when the battery goes dead
When you lose power to the clock chip, it cannot remember the time.
    System preferences > Date&Time > ...
... will allow you to set the Data & Time again. Check your Time Zone and that a sensible format (e.g., US, Canada, or UK if that is where you live) is selected, and NOT Custom.

  • Computer Clock will not hold setting

After taking my MBP into the genius bar to have a hardware issue fixed the machine clock will not stay set. Every time I restart I have to reset my machine.
    Anyone have any suggestions?
    Here is the error language:
+Your computer's clock is set to a date before Jane 1, 2008. This may cause soem applications to behave erratically. To set the clock manually, open Date & Tome preferences. For more information. choose Help > Mac Help+
I am forced to set manually each time I reset.

The clock in a laptop is kept alive by the laptop battery. So, if it is being reset, it seems something is wrong with the power subsystem. You might try going back to the genius bar with that.
Otherwise, you could also try [Resetting the SMC|http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964].

  • The clock is set to a date before 1 Jan 2008 and some applications may behave erratically.

hi. this afternoon. I accidently set my time to 1987.
then after awhile. I cant borswer any website. then I try to open app store. And it is all white pages.
but all my sofeware are still working.
then i reastar my Imac. it shows "your clock is set to a date before Jan1. 2008"
okay. And I was going to change it.
    but it dosnt let me.
I opened the setting. but it just shows loading date & time forever.
i had wait for a hour already. still show like that.
thx. i really need help. what can i do . it drives me crazy ...

If you can launch Terminal (found in /Applications/Utilities) you should be able to run the date command.  For example, if you do this now, you could run:
    sudo date 011120462014
    That should set your time to January (01) 11 (11) 8 (20):46 p.m. 2014.

  • Clock set before 2-24-01 - WHY????

When the mini was turned on this morning (out of town for a day, so turned it off before leaving) the clock was 2-26-94 with the wrong hour setting and a window that read Clock Set Before 2-24-01 etc. I turned on the automatically set clock date (was not previously on) and connected via ISP and it updated, but from using other Mac's over the past 12 years this usually meant the internal battery needed replacing although most lasted 3 or more years. So this happening in a Mini at one year puzzles me.
This is second time this has occurred.
    Solution?
It's Under Apple Care but I didn't get the "quick Reference Guide" that was supposed to be in the original materials or the Apple Care Protection Plan
    materials.
    Mini, 1GB, 1.42 GHZ, 80G   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

I would set the clock now.
Then, after you have made sure that the date and time are correct, I would turn the computer off.
Then, un-plug it from it's power supply.
I would leave the computer un-plugged for maybe 5 or 10 minutes.
Then, plug it in, and turn it on.
Check the date and time again.
If the date and time are incorrect again, then you know that either you're battery is dead or you're system has a PRAM problem somewhere.
If the machine is under warranty, then I would call to arrange an inspection and have it serviced.
If it's not under warranty, then you might try replacing the battery.
The Mac Mini uses a coin-cell battery like the PC's do.
So, you should be able to obtain a replacement battery at just about any local store. I haven't looked at mine, but it should be a CR2032 which is the same battery used by PC's and the iMac G5.
You should be able to find a battery at Wal-Mart, Radio Shack, and just about any other place that stocks batteries. The CR2032 is a common stock item at most stores.
As a side note, at least you're only goes back to 2001. I used to have a computer that would revert back to 1953 or 1956 when it's battery died. I can't remember which year, but I know it was in the 1950's.
Strange since we didn't even have personal computer's back then (much less the digital timers used in computers). How weird. I know the clock in that machine was made by Dallas Semiconductors.

  • "The end date can't be set to occur before the start date" issue

I have a subscribed calendar that draws from data in a Filemaker database. In all of these records, the start date & end date are the same. When I try to refresh the description, it fails with a "NSCocoaErrorDomain / error 1560" error, and the console log shows "The end date can't be set to occur before the start date."
Well, it doesn't occur before the start date. It's the same as the start date. I can work around this by setting my Filemaker database to add a day to the end date, but that's a clunky solution.
Anyone else run into anything like this?
    (iCal 4.0.3 and OS X 10.6.4, btw)

It may not be the same problem, but the message was the same (end date...etc). I tore my hair out at the time trying to solve it. It was on my fathers computer. Everything appeared to be correct and consistent. What solved it was logging into MobileMe/account/personal info/time zone, where I found the time zone was wrong. I can't remember the detail now but at the time it seemed like a third place where time had to be correct. Worth your checking there anyway.

    OK Vicky, good clues...
    See if this helps...
Open Keychain Access in Utilities, use Keychain First Aid under the Keychain Menu item, then either check the Password under that item, change it, or delete it and start over. See if there are duplicates, should be one for Incoming & one for Outgoing.
Resetting your keychain in Mac OS X...
If Keychain First Aid finds an issue that it cannot repair, or if you do not know your keychain password, you may need to reset your keychain.

This is normally to do with activation. You need to contact Adobe directly using the link below. Use the dropdown menu for boxes (1) & (2) to scroll down the list and choose:
    1. Adobe Photoshop Elements
    2. Serial number issues or activating my product
    3. Click on the blue button: Still need help? Contact us – then click the button marked “chat now”
It’s usually possible to start a live chat, if an Adobe agent is free, and often to get the problem fixed right away. Ensure you have your serial number.

  • Sales order cannot be created  for the delivery date before 20.10.2008

when i create a sales order today (18102008) sales order cannot be created  for the delivery date before 20.10.2008
how the system is checking the 2 days duration for delivery date - which table is having this duration days.
is it dependent on sales order type.....
actually i checkeup in V0V8 - even then i couldn't  solve this error when i am creating the sales order.
    Pls suggest

    Dear Selvamuthu
In normal circumstances, you can create as many as sale orders as you can irrespective of delivery date, and system will not  prevent to create unless you apply some user exit for some reason.
Check any user exit is applied for that sale document type where some logic would have been written in such a way that if stock is available, sale order can be created.
    thanks
