Computer Crash/ Program Lost

I can't download photoshop, because the Adobe installer thinks I only need updates.  What should I do?

Your title and subject are in conflict with each other. Please elaborate.
As far as I can see this has nothing to do with Web printing.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to backup, not good, then you can redownload some purchases in some countries.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • HT203167 Computer crashed and lost all music.  How can I get a listing of all prior purchases and get them downloaded again?

Compaq computer crashed and lost all music that was on the computer. How would I go about getting a listing of all purchased items and download them again? I know when i first got set up it said I could download up to 2 times when purchased and I have only downloaded once.  But need a listing of songs as well.

One thing that I also recommend in the future is to back your iTunes library up relatively regularly.  You can get your purchases in the cloud just fine, typically, but at the very least, it will save some time by backing it up.

  • My computer crashed and lost all of my music and all my cd's were stolen how do I transfer the music on my IPod back to my computer so that I can update my IPod?

My computer crashed with all my music on it. All of my cd's that I had uploaded onto my computer were stolen.  The only way that I have all my music is on my IPod.  However, I am afraid to update it because I don't want to loose all the music that I no longer have that is on it.  How can I transfer from my IPod my music library onto my new computer without losing any of my music?  I mean it has not been updated in over a year because I have some really good music that I don't want to loose.  Please help me.  I would like to add some really great music but can't for fear of crashing the music I have.  Thank you in advance.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.  Have you failed to do this?
If so, then you can buy programs that will retrieve the music from the ipod (not supported by Apple).

  • HT1766 How do I get my music from my iphone to itunes after computer crash and lost previous itunes library?

My computer crashed and I lost iTunes library and all playlists from computer.  Now I have a lot of music that I want to save to iTunes and cannot.  Additionally, I cannot add new songs without erasing the entire library from my phone.  HELP!!!

Restore the iTunes library from the backups you were keeping regularly of your computer.

  • Computer crashed. Lost all my i-tunes.  HELP

I had transferred some 1,300 songs from my CDs to iTunes and then loaded them onto my iPod. THEN, my computer crashed and the person who got it running again had totally wiped everything including my entire iTunes library. How can I put the songs on my iPod back into the iTunes library. I don't even dare connect my iPod to the computer for fear of it wiping everything off. I am NOT real savvy on this. I run Windows XP and have the Classic iPod. Thank you to ANYONE who can lead me through this.

For iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
Find out how to do that here.
How to copy iTunes purchases from an iPod or iPhone to a computer.
For all other non purchased content (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it is a little more involved than other methods.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Other free programs are Pod Player, SharePod and Floola.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
iPodRip also has the feature enabling you to reconstruct playlists.
There is also CopyTrans. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.

  • HELP! computer crashed.. lost music.. ipod wont let me put new songs on

Okay my computer crashed... now i got it fixed and i have the few hundred songs on my ipod... no longer on computer
now every time i open itunes a note saying something to the extent of the ipod is registerd on another computer do i want to erase all files on ipod.. i hit no as i dont have the songs on the computer anymore... after hitting no the computer wont allow me to access the songs at all or update the ipod!
    what do i do?

    Hi jagsgurl15,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
Copying songs from your iPod to your computer
"The iTunes library on your computer holds all the songs you've encoded from your CD collection or purchased from the iTunes Music Store. With default settings, iTunes automatically copies the songs in your library to your iPod. When you use your iPod as a hard disk, you can't see the songs iTunes copies to your iPod in the Finder or My Computer. This is normal. Using the Finder or My Computer, you can't copy these song files from your iPod back to iTunes or to any other computer. The synchronization between your iPod and your computer is always one way: from iTunes to iPod.
If you've erased the music library on your computer, there's no way to use the Finder or My Computer to copy the songs from your iPod to reconstitute the library on your computer. One solution is to encode the songs from your CD collection again, then sync your new library with iPod. If you purchased songs from the iTunes Music Store and didn't back them up, there's no way to download them again. You'll have to buy new copies of the songs."
Taken from Using your iPod as a hard disk
Can you get them from a backup off your old computer? Or didn't you do a backup?
    Regards
    Colin R.

  • Using Mac OS X, v 10.5.8, with Firefox 16, computer crashed & application lost. Help! How can I reinstall it?

The icon for Mozilla Firefox 16 seems to have disappeared from my desktop & from my applications folder when computer crashed. How can I get Firefox 16 back?

    Try this:
    * Delete the Firefox icon from the dock.
    * Create a new icon by dragging the Firefox application to the dock.
You have a Mac with a PowerPC processor.
    Are you running TenFourFox?
For an unofficial Firefox 17.0.2 ESR compatible version (TenFourFox) that runs on PowerPC Macs with OS X 10.4.11 or OS X 10.5.8 you can look at:

  • My computer crashed and lost everything How do I get all the data off my Iphone to a new computer?

I lost everything on my computer. My iphone 4 has all the things i need on it when i try to sync it itunes tells me it is going to clear the phone I have already atherized the new computer.

You may be able to buy a program to do this - not supported by Apple.
the ipod is not a storage device.  The sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The only exception is itunes purchaes.
The music should be on a computer as that is where they came from in the first place.

  • Computer crash has lost music on my computer music library

    Hi
I have had a major computer failure and have just reloaded the back up discs. My music does not appear to have backed up properly. I seem to have lost all of the playlists and also there are 2600 tracks on my ipod but only 1085 tracks in my i-tunes library on the computer. If I synch, will the tracks on my ipod upload to the computer and re populate the library. Or by synching, would that delete the tracks from my ipod. If the latter, is there anything I can do?
    Thanks

*If I synch, will the tracks on my ipod upload to the computer and re populate the library.*
    No
*Or by synching, would that delete the tracks from my ipod.*
    Yes

There are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you only want to copy your purchases to the computer that can be done using iTunes, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (including purchases) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

  • Hi - I have recently had a fatal computer crash and lost all my downloads. Is there any way i can get them back?

Is there any way I can get them back  - any help greatly appreciated

    diana93 wrote:
where would the pictures be stored in the computer ? Where should I look for them?
They would be wherever you put them.
They would only be on your computer if you imported them.  You would have selected a program and/or location and imported them as you would with any digital camera.

  • Computer crashed, files lost but stored on iTunes. Will my files still be there if I access my iTunes on a new computer?

My iTunes was on my windows 7 pc as well as the mp3 files saved in my computers library. This computer fell and the hard drive I believe, is broken. I'm getting a new laptop soon and want to know if my songs on my iTunes will be there and if I can still make changes to them (title, artist, etc.) when they are not backed up in the computers library. None of these songs were purchased on the iTunes Store. Help please :(

They won't be there unless you signed up for iTunes Match.
