Computer crash ? What does this mean?

I have a quicksilver dual gig mac and last night it crashed twice while I was trying to listen to cd's recorded on my masterlink. The message was
panic cpu(1) OX300-Data access
Unresolved kernel trap cpu/ox300
Proceeding back via except in chain.
What's happening with my machine?

If you have the horizontal menu bar showing (File, Edit, View,...), select View, then select Show Sidebar.
If the menu bar is not showing, dorp down the menu in the very upper left corner and select show menu bar, then follow steps above.

I connected my ipad to the charger and the apple logo appears, as well as small words on the side that you'd usually see on an actual computer. What does this mean? Is this a virus?

It is not a virus. It is most likely a software problem on the iPad. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

After a few seconds, there was a loud noise and I had no chocie but to hold down the power button to reset.
Computer now works fine. This is not the first time something like this has happened.
Please advise what I should go.

That's called a Kernel Panic, not much to go on, but have you blown the dust out of it lately?

Preferences crash -- what does this mean?

I have a log for a preferences crash. It starts with

Anyone know what this refers to? Preferences for e-mail or what? Anyone have a fix to prevent this crash?

I'm getting this issue too. If I go to Preferences->Usage the Preferences app crashes after a few seconds.
I have a 64GB iPhone 4S on the Three network in the UK. The issue occurred with iOS 5 and still occurrs with 5.0.1. The log says:

I'm not playing any music in the background at the time. I have sending of reports to Apple turned on, so they have the full diagnostic information.

I downloaded lion and and accepted the terms but it won't install on my hardrive. "This disk cannot be used to start up on the computer." What does this mean?

I have plenty of space remaining for this to be downloaded to the hardrive.

Have you checked to see what the Partition Map is? It sounds like, and this is a stab in the dark, that you might not be set on a GUID format.
To check, go into Disk Utility and highlight the drive you want to use. in the bottom of the Disk Util box, you will see the details of the disk itself. Check to see if it is GUID, listed under Partition Map Scheme.
If it is then you have a different issue and one that I am unable to answer. If it isn't then you will need to back any data up from the drive you want to use and reformat the disk to GUID. This should then correct the install issue you are experiencing. Reformatting is relatively easy, just following the prompts in the Partition Tab, in Disk Util.
However, to reiterate, back up any data ypou wish to keep prior to this! Reformatting will wipe the disk completely.

It sounds like you are trying to change your login in the Tunes store through iTunes on your computer, which you can only do once in 90 days, which you don't need to do for this.

If the computer's running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.
If the computer's running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

You need to authorize the new computer that youre working with. First hover over the store button at the top of the screen and then select the authorize this computer button then a popup will appear where you have to put in your Apple ID and Password. Hopefully this works for you

I am having this same problem. I took Kappy advice on restarting the Apple Mobile Device Service, however that did not work. I got this message in a pop up window that came up immediately.
Windows could not start the Apple Mobil Device Service on local computer.
Error 1053 The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I have already uninstalled itunes, all the related programs and I cannot reinstall, this Apple Mobil Device message stops the install.
