Computer Crashed, Can't Get Music on iTunes

My computer crashed and completely erased my hard drive. I managed to upload 149 of the 160 songs that I purchased from iTunes but can't get the rest, it simply stopped. I have about 100 other songs including all of my purchased music on my iPod, but I get the statement of how it can't read the contents of my iPod and that I need to restore it. I have copied all of my info to my hard drive, but that only includes the library list, not the actual files itself. How do I get these 100+ songs on to my iTunes?

This is a frequently asked question. itunes block the function of transfer the songs not purchase from ipod to computer, you can have a look of this answer, same issue: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=6301496#6301496

  • Have a current movie on my computer and can't get it into ITunes so I can put on my IPad

Have a current movie on my computer and can't get it into ITunes so I can put on my IPAd.  I tried dragging from desktop and nothing happens, also tried adding file or folder to library and nothing happens.

Convert your movie to quicktime or another format iTunes can play.
If you can add it and play it in iTunes, it will also work on the iPad.

  • I just updated to ios7 and my phone wants me to connect to iTunes before I can do anything.  My computer is broken and I'm borrowing someone else's.  Will it try to sync with their computer? Can I get around using iTunes somehow?

I just updated my iPhone 4S to iOS7 and it wants me to connect to iTunes before I can do anything. But my computer is broken and I'm borrowing someone else's. Will it try to sync with their computer? Can I get around using iTunes somehow?  I'm new to this; any help would be appreciated!

If the device is indicating to connect to iTunes, then it is in recovery mode. You will need the computer and iTunes to recover it. You can fix the iTunes to not sync to your device, but just let it recover the phone. I hope you would have a backup of your data in iCloud, since it is no longer available to you on the phone.

My computer recently crashed, I got it fixed, but my iTunes music was gone. Is there anyway i can get my purchased items back?

You can restore your music from any back up that you made? If you didn't back them up, the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage."
iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on any of the links on this page you'll find a space at the bottom to email your query: iTMS Customer Service

  • Computer crashed, how to get music off ipod onto itunes

My computer crashed, I lost everything. Is there a way to get the music I have on my ipod into my itunes? Other than just the purchased music? Thanks for the help!!

    Hello sunnydae,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
There are several ways you can pull the music off your iPod and onto iTunes. The first link below provides step-by-step instructions for the direct method if you have a PC as well as a few third party applications (for both the Mac and PC) if you choose to go that route instead. You can also do a simple Google search for "copy music from iPod to computer" and you should receive a number of sites that can help you out.
Just make sure that when you have your iPod plugged into your computer, that you don't hit "Erase and Sync" before completing the task of copying your music over.
Also, if you have any purchased music, you will probably have to re-authorize your computer by heading to the Store drop down menu and choosing "Authorize computer."

  • Old computer crashed can i get my songs on the new one with out buying them

my old computer's mother board went out and it wont turn on now, so i was wondering if there is anyway to get my old itunes songs on the new computer with out having to buy them all over i havn't tryed anything yet so i was just wondering if anyone had any answers. thanks

If the motherboard crashed, the hard drive might still be OK. You can put the hard drive in an external USB hard drive enclosure for about $25. ll your music should still be on it!

Our computer crashed (as in no more operating system) and I need to download iTunes onto the new PC, is it possible to recover original account info & library files via iTunes or is all of that stored on the hard drive?  I have an external hd, but haven't connected it yet.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Unfortunately, iWeb cannot read published web site files, only create them. Unless you have a backup copy of the domain.sites2 file that resided in your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder you'll have to rebuild the sites from scratch. However, Chapter 2.3 of this iWeb FAQ site has tips on using some of the published files in the reconstruction of the site.

  • My computer crashed, can i put music from my ipod to my new computer?

My laptop recently crashed... i cannot access it at all. I have approx 1600 songs on my ipod right now, from my cd's. I need to know if i can put all these songs on my computer without copying all the cd's again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
For all other non purchased music (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
