Hey, My computer crashed recently, and i need to resync my ipod with my new itunes without erasing everything, heres the thing though, i've checked other topics about it but i cant get my ipod up on the source list because i get nothing when pressin shift+control, and when i let go, i get the message that my ipod has been synced with another itunes library please erase and resync :S

technically your ipod should still be usable with the mac. You can put the ipod into whats called manual mode. This way the ipod will retain the music and you can use the ipod with your mac. You just wouldn't be able to use the auto sync feature. go to this site http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61148 that will tell you how to select that option. As far as getting music that is not purchased from itunes from the ipod to the computer i am not an expert at that so i really dont have any suggestions other than i know it can be done. If you could find a good transfer program im sure it would be simple enough to move the music onto the mac then restore the ipod and load the songs back up.

My computer, which is a Dell Inspiron laptop running Vista, crashed and I had to replace the entire hard drive. I even had to reinstall Itunes. I have some of my music on my Ipod touch, some on the kid's ipod nano and some (mostly holiday music) not on either ipod. I have quite a lot of apps on my ipod touch, and I am unsure how I can get back to synchronizing again without losing my apps and especially without losing the data I have saved (on my ipod touch) for certain apps (grocery lists, etc.) Also, will I lose my calendar data and my contacts? Computer crashed/no backup/how download new songs without losing old

My hard drive crashed. I did not back up my itunes library for my ipod mini. My library is wiped out but my son has songsin the new library he created. If I attach my ipod to load some new songs onto my ipod will I lose the songs I now have on it.

i want to use my ipod to store music on, so when manually managing files is it necessary to have the files that are on my ipod, on the pc, whenever i want to add new files??.. i tried manually adding music but it wiped all the movies and notes i had on my ipod (but no longer on the pc) so obviously i went wrong somewhere :/
i have lost patience with trolling through the pdf manual.. killer on the eyes, i prefer hard copy and the instructions that came with it are s@#t. *sorry mr ipod man but they are* so if i can be pointed even to the right page of the pdf one i'd be most appreciative

For a fresh download on a new hard drive, it's best to start with the CC desktop app. Sign into adobe.com and download it here: creative.adobe.com/products/download/creative-cloud
You can then launch the desktop, sign in and download PS & LR.

Install it just as you did before. You should have backed up the download to a CD or backup HD and have the S/N archived with the backup. If you did not backup (please do in the future), you can download from http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html unless it was an upgrade (I don't think you can use these files for upgrades).

iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iPod, iPad, and iPhone, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
First you need to authorize your new computer with your iTunes account with iTunes if you haven't already done so.
With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.

If you purchased all songs in the iTunes Store, plug your iPod to your Mac or PC and iTunes will ask you to transfer purchases.

Move the music from the computer where it exists to the computer where you want it.

Lucky for you, I just found out how to get the music stored on your iPod by messing around with it. I'm not much of an Apple user (I only have a shuffle), so I'm not 100% sure it would work the same way as yours.. but it's worth a shot.
if your iTunes didn't sync with your iPod yet,... that would be great..
1, Make sure your iTunes does not automatically sync with your iPod (I don't know if this would help..)
2, Click on your iPod and go to settings, check "Enabe Disk Use"
Your iPod should now have a partition on My Computer called AFJCHAW's IPOD or whatever you named your iPod... If you go to that disk, you'll notice there's nothing in there.
3, Click on Organize at the top right part of Windows Explorer(Windows 7, don't know how in XP..), go th the Folder and search options, view tab, and click on show hidden files, folders, and drives.
If you go back to your disk, you should be able to find a folder
4, It'll be pretty straightforward then. Go to iPod_Control/Music. You'll find folders there. Inside the folders are each of your music files (they're renamed but the Details would still be about the same).
If you did get your music files back from this procedure, then, yay! it worked!!
If you didn't,.... it should've worked..

Computer crashed, have new one, need to transfer songs from ipod

My old computer completly crashed and it had all my itunes songs on it. I did not copy them to a CD or anything. I now can't turn the computer on or anything. I need to somehow transfer my songs from my ipod to the itunes on my new computer. The itunes on my new computer has nothing on it. When I plug my ipod into my computer, the ipod does not come up in itunes and itunes seems to freeze and doesn't work until i unplug the ipod. Yet the do not disconnect comes up on my ipod. I tried to use yamipod and sharepod but both of them could not find my ipod when it was plugged in, even when i had itunes up too. I have Windows Vista and the computer is a Dell Studio laptop. I do not know what to do, but I really need to get all my music on my computer. I have over 4,000 songs and can not afford to lose them. Please help!

Be careful when your iPod does connect, If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use our iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities for copying content from your iPod (such as YamiPod etc.) it needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
