Computer Crashed..Lost All iTunes.
I did have my songs( must not purchased) on my ipod. I recently tried to make a purchase in iTunes and because its been so long since I made a purchase I had to create a new account. Now, when I connect my ipod I get a question to copy only purchased songs. I have over 200 songs not purchased..I don't want to loss my songs.
Any ideas as to what I can do?
I'm having a problem still with accessing my old account. I did go in and change my password. When I go in to Genius and it ask for my password and apple id..I put it in and it doesn't accept it. I keep getting that the id or password is incorrect.
As, I mentioned before, I was unable to sign on to my account and I was told by apple tech to create another account. I took your advise and tried to recovery my old acct but I think because I already create another acct it not allowing me to see old account.
I guess I'm never going to be able to backup my ipod music.
Can someone help me?

Computer crashed, lost all itunes but they are still on IPOD- sync trouble
My computer crashed and I lost everything including my itunes library- luckily all my music is on my ipod. I found the latest itunes and installed it and then found I had to register the computer for itunes which I did. There is an option to tranfer purchases (which I assume means transfer them from my ipod to my computer) but every time I try this the whole thing freezes. Also the computer appears to sometime have trouble recognising the ipod- when I try to access the USB through my computer is says there is no disk. It appears I can't put any new songs on until I sync the ipod- but my only options appear to be sync and erase and I will lose hundreds of dollars of music.
Welcome to AD!
Is your PC authorized for the itunes store? If so, when you connect your ipod, you should see a message about transferring purchases. Here is a screenshot of that message
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848
Clearly, you DO NOT want to push the "erase and sync" button! -
Computer crashed, lost all my itunes.
Hi everyone. This is my first post on here. OK, my computer just crashed and I had too restore it back to factory and I lost all my itunes. Is there anyway that I can transfer my itunes from my ipod video to my itunes library on my PC? I really dont want to buy all my music again. Thanks for the help.
FrankYou can do it, but it is important NOT to let your iPod synchronise with your empty library as that will delete the music from your iPod.
Here is a selection of programs that can copy from iPod to PC:
YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
iGadget Windows Only
iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
iPod Access Mac and Windows Versions
PodUtil Mac and Windows Versions
iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
PodPlayer Windows Only
CopyPod Windows Only http://www.copypod.net/index.php
Or to copy in Windows (A little more complicated)see:

Crashed computer and lost all itunes...
my Computer crashed and i lost all my music on my itunes. i still have it all on my iphone, but can i somehow get all my music from my iphone to my new computer or is it gone forever if i resync with my new computer??
This is one of the reasons why maintaining a backup for the important data on your computer's hard drive stored on an external drive or some other external media is important, which should included your iTunes library.
Did you lose all important data on your computer's hard drive, or just your iTunes library?
iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content from an iPod or iPhone that was purchased from the iTunes store only.
First you need to authorize your new computer with your iTunes account with iTunes.
With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone. -

Pc crashed lost all itunes music
My pc crashed and I lost all my Itunes music. is there any way to download from my ipod to my itunes? If not what can I do.
thanks
LisaConnect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use our iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod.
The transfer of content sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay. -
Computer crashed - lost all - need info please
my home pc crashed and I lost info. my question is: do I need to start all over with a new itunes download - how to get all my songs and info from iphone to the "new" itunes. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!
The iphones music and pic sync is one way - computer to iphone.
Your data should be backed up to an external source, as hard drives can and do fail. You can take your back-up data and put it on the new computer.
If you do not have back-up, you ay be able to save the music purchased from itunes by attaching iphone and clicking File>transfer purchases.
The iphone is not a storage device. -
Computer crashed, lost all content. Need to transfer songs from iPod to PC
My computer was hijacked by a virus and all software was eliminated including iTunes and all of the songs/photos. I still have them on my iPod-Photo but don't know how to synch them back up with my "restore" PC.
Dell XP Windows XPI have a solution for you, but I have it in the office. If you don't get a solution today, email me at [email protected] and I will forward the directions. It's quite simple.

I had downloaded all of my itunes library to my iphone from my home computer, My home computer crashed and all my itunes library was lost but it is still on my iphone. Is there a way that I can take all the music on my iphone that is all of my music from my itunes from my old computer and download it to my new computer that I have another itunes on? I tried to sync the music on my iphone to my itunes and I could not figure out a way to sync the music without erasing all of the music on my iphone. Does anyone have any suggestions?
For music that you've purchased from Apple that are on your iPhone you should be able to copy to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. Also if you are in the US then you should be able to re-download past music purchases for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
For your own music that you've copied, then if you haven't got a backup on, for example, external drives or CDs/DVDs then you could see if any of the utilities mentioned in this old post still exist and work -
My computer crashed with all my itunes files. I was able to get some off and transfer them to another computer. I am afraid to sync my ipod to the new computer becaused I do not want to loose all of my playlists and other music. Will this happen?
To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
Delete the "songs" that do not play in your iTunes library and reimport them. -

I had to format my main computer and lost all of my itunes music
Recently, I had to re-format my main computer, I lost all of my iTunes music, most of it is on my iPad. How do I transfer this music from my iPad to my current iTunes. I really don't want to have to copy a couple of 1000 CDs again.
Once you have the tracks recovered, you might also consider iTunes March. There is a cost involved ($24.99/yr), and it isn't without it's ... shall we quirks? ... but it is a very convenient way to manage music tracks on iOS devices.
