My computer crashed. New operating system and drive installed. Apple won't recognize. Lost music, can't sync with ipod, phone, icloud or open music on computer.

Acrobat 8 is an older version .It might not be compatible with Windows 7 .
Try upgrading it to the latest version .i.e Acrobat 11.0.10 or any higher versions than Acrobat 8.
Many folks have gotten AA8 to work on Win7. I have only heard of one report suggesting that AA8 will work on a 64-bit system, and I am not sure about the report. If you have a 64-bit system, you will likely need to upgrade, though if you play around you might be successful in finding a solution (Adobe will not help since it is not a certified platform, but some folks here might if they have been successful).
In any case, after installation you will need to do the updates for proper operation. If you can not do them from within Acrobat, you may have to download them fromhttp://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows. You need to install the updates in ORDER unless indicated other wise. Reboots can typically be saved until the last update is installed.

The sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases.
The ipod is not a backup device.
You need to copy everything back using your backup copy.

Flash Videos - Crash Operating System

I have sarted to experience a problem whilst watching Flash Videos on my 2007 Macbook (Snow Leopard) OSX 10.6.8.
The problem is that after a few mins, the video becomes juttery, and then crashes (repeating audio snippet), with an opaque black message onscreen, requesting that a hard reboot (via power button) is completed.
Any ideas on how to fix (occurs in Safari and Firefox - lateast version of Flash installed)? Seems like this was previously a problem for Lion users.

Computer crashing after system update to 10.6.4

Hi. I'm on a macbook pro. Everything was wonderful until the update. Now I'm crashing seemingly randomly.

at start up --- never getting past the apple
I just hold the powerbutton to crash it...restart. It works for a while and then crashes again. Would love your advice.

I can't remember exactly when I updated but my day today has been filled with whirling beach balls and s-l-o-w loading apps (Mail, Safari, iPhoto) and now iPhoto on my iPhone seems to be affected. Was your problem a gradual one or all at once? My iMac has been slowing down more and more and now I just swear all the time.
PS--My iMac is only 4 months old.

New computer, new operating system, no installation software

I previously had my WRT54G router configuration software installed on my XP-based laptop, which recently died. I replaced that laptop with a MacBook (Macintosh). I am now unable to locate the installation software. Can I use my new MacBook to control my router (my sons' computers are connected, wired and wireless)? If so, can I get the software online, and is it compatible with Mac?

Control meaning act as a network administrator? Then yes. You can do it even from a Mac (it just have to be connected the network first). However, it's always best to practice changing your router settings from a computer that is wired to the router. And as mentioned, there's no software needed for Macs. Just access the router's management page from a browser (default address is http://192.168.1.1).

I just purchase a new desktop computer (Lenovo) operation system window 7 and had and Kaspersky Anti-virus install, however it appear that it does work with firefox version 7. Any advise for me because I'm an strong user of Firefox browser.

You can turn off compatibility checking, but more and more of the Google Toolbar will not work. Google is no longer supporting the Google Toolbar so you should use the alternatives.

I have had problems syncing on my Windows XP computer and yesterday I got my laptop back with a virus removed and was able to sync. Then I updated the operating system to 5.0 and now the restore won't work. Please help! I got error code 50.

I have had problems syncing my iPhone 4 and my iPad on my Windows XP laptop. My computer had a virus and spyware, but is now fixed. I was then able to sync both phone and ipad, but when I tried to update to ios-5.0, the update worked, but the restore would not. Now I don't know what to do with my phone. Is there a way to get the restore to work, or should I set it up as a new phone. I have lots of apps, etc. that I do not want to lose.

The computer that has my itunes and that I connected my ipod nano to has crashed...is there any way to connect my nano to a new computer (same operating system; win xp pro) without wiping out the library/songs i have on it?

Yes. When you connect your iPod to a different computer, you receive a message stating "Your iPod is linked to a different iTunes library, would you like to link it to this library and replace everything that's in it" or something like that. If you click "YES" it will erase everything that is in the iPod and replace it with what's in the new iTunes. If you click "NO" your iPod will go into manual mode, which will not erase everything on your iPod, and will allow you to keep adding songs to it, by clicking and dragging them from the iTunes library to the iPod in the source list.

Error loading operating system- windows xp/windows me

So, I have a Hp Pavillion 9715 desktop with windows xp professional and basically yesterday I turned on my computer and all it would do would go to the black screen saying "error loading operating system"
Now I'm not really sure what tp do I was going to reinstall window xp, but i dont how to do this as i don't have the cd and the computer wont even power up in safe mode. I then realised that my computer's operating system is windows millenium edition, which i havs the recovery cd for. i could use this, but id lose all my data. i was wondering if there was a way to save or transfer all my files to a different hard drive. Or if there was a way to use the recovery cd to repair everything without me losing all my personal files, or would this not work because it would be windows me that is reinstalled and not xp?
If anyone at all could help me id be so grateful, its quite annoying/upsetting. Thanks

Wow! Your PC is almost as old as my (1996) Compaq 14XL244 Notebook.
It still works, but required hard disk replacement about six years ago. I suspect you will have a very hard time getting any files from your IDE hard disk. You can try putting the hard disk in an external enclosure and connecting it via USB to another PC.
The error message that you are seeing means that the BIOS can no longer recognize the hard dive.
It is probably time to consider updating to a more recent PC. You certainly got plenty of good service life from it.

Report to display Operating system, and AD boundary or collection ID

I found a report on this site that got me close but it doesn't list the actual operating system and version. I know it should be fairly easy to add but I know next to nothing about SQL. Basically I am just looking for a report to run
that will provide the Computer Name, Operating system version and ad boundary or collection name.

Collection name would be virtually impossible because the machine will be in many. If you wanted to see all that info for every machine in a given collection that would be easy.
AD Site may be doable. Not sure how accurate it would be, that would depend upon if your machines travel from place to place.

Operating system wont load

i believe that i may have turned off the power switch on the wall that feeds electricity to everything in my room, while my computer was running pro tools. Now when i turn on the computer, my operating system does not load and it does not ask for my password. All i see is a blank blue screen, but my mouse is being recognized. I hope my files are not lost.What do i do to restore my OS(tiger) without losing all the files on my computer?

1. I suggest you begin troubleshooting using the process specified in my "Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption" FAQ. Perform the steps therein in the order specified. This is a good procedure to run after a power failure.
2. A blue screen at startup can also indicate a problematic Startup or Login item. If step 1 above does not resolve the issue, my "Troubleshooting Startup and Login Items" FAQ can help you pin that down if such an item is exacerbating the problem.
