Computer crashed whilst installing photoshop elements 11, now serial number invalid?

Recently purchased photoshop elements 11, when installing my computer crashed. When attempting to install for a second time it now displays a message saying my serial ref is invalid?
Do I need to get a new reference?
If so, how do I get a new reference?

Dgjr7878 it is likely that the current installation of Photoshop Elements and it's licensing files got corrupted if your computer is crashing.  Is this a common occurance?  If so you may want to address the stability difficulties you are experiencing with your current computer prior to reinstalling.
There are additional steps you can try to recover from your computer's unexpected restart.  Which operating system are you using exactly?

    I would first go to your Adobe Account and make sure that all info in it was correct and then match up all S/N's with your records. If you find any problems, then make corrections.
    If all matches, but does not work, contact Adobe and see if they still sell replacement DVD's for CS2. Adobe usually does, for a small price. Still, you will need your correct S/N, so you will probably be back on the phone to Adobe. When I once used them for a S/N problem, they were quick and did a perfect job.

    Check your Adobe account online.  If you registered the software when you first installed it then the serial number might be available there.

    Thanks, I tried it, but that did not work.  Another Forum leader determined that I bought a WIN license and I have a MAC.  Not sure how that happened.  I have sent a message (hopefully given the absolute user unfriendly interface for any problems) to the Order folks.  If they don't reply, i will cancel the credit card charge.  That might get their attention.  What a terrible company.

    I have had nothing but problems in other software programs since installing PE11.  The most recent?  PE11 replaced ALL of my programs with itself.  Try to open Excel?  You get PE11.  This happened with every program.  I had to totally uninstall PE11 to get my computer back.  Any suggestions?  I have a newer HP running Windows 7.  I'd like to use PE11, but wondering if its worth the frustration.

    As CS 6 was never tested on any of the latest versions, there could be an issue with compatibility of the OS and the software that you are using.

    I have just purchased a hard copy of photoshop elements 10, but our computer will only run CD's not DVD's, so I can't run the disk. I have got a serial number but I don't know where to put it to download photoshop, since you can no longer download the free trial elements 10 (only elements 11).     If you never installed and do not have the packaging that the disk comes in then you are not likely to be able to do very much.  Had you installed and registered it you might find your serial number recorded in your Adobe account online.  As it stands, you have nothing more than a disk and that is not proof of ownership unfortunately.

  • Photoshop Element 11 missing serial number

        Bought on amazon in Aug 13 (only tried to install it over a month ago (Dec 13) after buying new computer). It is not on the box, or under sticker on the box, or on the CD sleeve. I cannot return it to Amazon as the return window has expired in September. What to do? I have the box, order number etc..
    Did the one month trial that is now expired.

    I'd be inclined to scan the bill, then contact Adobe at http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-deactivation-products.html#ac tivate-problem and explain what happened. As you're able to provide proof of purchase they may be able to issue you a new serial number.
    If that doesn't help then I'd be inclined to investigate your country sale of goods legislation. Most countries don't allow a company to sell goods unfit for purpose and this legislation will take precedence over any guarantee or 'returns windows'. Selling a product that needs a serial number, without one, is not selling goods fit for purpose.
