Can anyone help?

Hi,
In order to assist you, we will need the .DMP files to analyze what exactly occurred at the time of the crash, etc.
If you don't know where .DMP files are located, here's how to get to them:
1. Navigate to the %systemroot%\Minidump folder.
2. Copy any and all DMP files in the Minidump folder to your Desktop and then zip up these files.
3. Upload the zip containing the .DMP files to Onedrive or a hosting site of your choice and paste in your reply. Preferred sites: Onedrive, Mediafire, Dropbox, etc. Nothing with wait-timers, download managers, etc.
4 (optional): The type of .DMP files located in the Minidump folder are known as Small Memory Dumps. In %systemroot% there will be what is known as a Kernel-Dump (if your system is set to generate). It is labeled MEMORY.DMP. The difference
between Small Memory Dumps and Kernel-Dumps in the simplest definition is a Kernel-Dump contains
much more information at the time of the crash, therefore allowing further debugging of your issue. If your upload speed permits it, and you aren't going against any strict bandwidth and/or usage caps, etc, the Kernel-Dump is the best
choice. Do note that Kernel-Dumps are much larger in size due to containing much more info, which is why I mentioned upload speed, etc.
If you are going to use Onedrive but don't know how to upload to it, please visit the following:
Upload photos and files to Onedrive.
After doing that, to learn how to share the link to the file if you are unaware, please visit the following link -
Share files and folders and change permissions and view 'Get a link'.
Please note that any "cleaner" programs such as TuneUpUtilities, CCleaner, etc, by default will delete .DMP files upon use. With this said, if you've run such software, you will need to allow the system to crash once again to generate a crash dump.
If your computer is not generating .DMP files, please do the following:
1. Start > type %systemroot% which should show the Windows folder, click on it. Once inside that folder, ensure there is a Minidump folder created. If not, CTRL-SHIFT-N to make a New Folder and name it Minidump.
2. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced > Ensure there's a check-mark for 'Automatically manage paging file size for all
drives'.
3. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings > System Failure > ensure there is a check mark next to 'Write an event to the system
log'.
Ensure Small Memory Dump is selected and ensure the path is %systemroot%\Minidump.
4. Double check that the WERS is ENABLED:
Start > Search > type services.msc > Under the name tab, find Windows Error Reporting Service > If the status of the service is not Started then right click it and select Start. Also ensure that under Startup Type it is set to Automatic rather than
Manual. You can do this by right clicking it, selecting properties, and under General selecting startup type to 'Automatic', and then click Apply.
If you cannot get into normal mode to do any of this, please do this via Safe Mode.
Regards,
Patrick

  • IPhone driver crashes my PC with a BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH?

Hey guys, here is my story:
2 days ago I downloaded some music onto my iPhone using iTunes with no problems.
Yesterday I downloaded a new iTunes 8.0 and installed it onto my Windows Vista desktop, it seems to work fine, found 10 updates for my apps, downloaded them, plugded in my iPhone to update apps on the phone. Nothing happenes, iPhone doesn't show up in iTunes or MyComputer, and it's not even charging. I also just bought a new web camera from Logitech 2 days ago, someone in the iPod forum said that Logitech or HP out of date drivers might cause this problem, but all my drivers are up to date (I think my NVidia driver may need updatind, but I can't verify right now because I'm writing from work). So that gave me an idea of what might be the problem. I have to add that everything worked fine before updating to iTunes 8. So I unpluged the web cam and iPhone appeared in MyComputer as a camera, getting closer. I tryed to use a sollution from a G-man from a different post, so I go to Device Manager / Portable Device / Apple iPhone / Update Drivers then manually direct it to Program Files / Common Files / Apple / Mobile Device Support / Drivers and at this point my computer crashes with a BSOD!
Windows has shut down to prevent a file USBAAPL.SYS from damaging your computer.

Every time the same result. Help plz, everybody exided about getting a new 2.1 update tomorrow and I cant even connect my phone to iTunes. I want to see if there are any sollutions here before calling tech support and waisting 2 hours, because they proboly will tell that it's odd problem and I should get a mac or return my web cam, none of those options will work for me. It is for sure not any of my stuff, it's iTunes 8 that messed things up.

There are over 200 people in the iTunes section of the forum with the same problem (thousands around the web), looks like in most cases unpluging a HP printer or a Logitech Web camera or keyboard helps, but it didn't work for me. I am not going to uninstal HP or Logitech drivers! Apple is going to fix this and some guy from Apple, Ray, said that we should wait for about a week and then try to download and reinstal iTunes. I'll wait, but I'm very upset because 2.1 comes out today and I'm not gonna be able to update.
There is a temporarily fix by downgraiding to iTunes 7.7... but the new FW update WILL requare us to have a newest iTunes. Apple did it again, it's normal for them now, their stuff just don't work any more (Just Works my ...;))

  • When Firefox version 16.0.1 is open and I try to work with it then my computer crashes after a short period (blue screen).

Previous versions worked correctly and also IE works allright. My laptop runs Windows 7, 32bit.

If you get a BSOD then make sure that all system drivers (e.g. graphics display and mose) are up to date including your security software (firewall, anti-virus).
Does it mention any program or DLL as the cause of that BSOD?
*Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings : untick "Automatically restart"
Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
You can use the Autoruns utility to see which programs and services are started.

  • Iphone 4s, sending a message crashes quite often with picts

I have a message thread open and go to reply...
I snap a picture, hit the audio button to for speech to text...
hit send and...booom...message app just closes.
    anyone else?
    even happens with different people.
    open message
    insert existing picture
    record some text
    hit send
    BOOM; message app dies
If I TYPE the message it works fine.
    anybody else see this behavior?

Same here. Made an appointment at Genius Bar yesterday and confirmed it's a repeatable bug and occurs on every iPhone 4S they tested regardless of carrier (ie. Sprint, Verizon, or AT&T).
The Genius I spoke with reported it to engineering, so with luck it will be fixed in the next iOS update.
In the meantime, my workaround is to send the photo first, then dictate the text into a separate message.
    I hope that helps.

I need to know which update(s) I can apply to help stabalize the system.

Typing the body of the thread message in the title, huh? -)

Only Apple could hamstring and tie Mac OS to Windows. There isn't any other than whether you can download the drivers into Windows (you can) but Apple puts a block on the installer setup even if your mac does not support it.
Windows 7 needs at least Boot Camp 3.1 and 3.3 is what you should already have. And you are not getting security updates if you don't have at least 10.6.8 as was pointed out.  --- you arent using Software Update as you should. And you should backup and clone Mac (and Windows) as well.
You need Mountain Lion to use Boot Camp 5.x which supports Windows 7 & 8 and 64-bit.
I would upgrade to Lion if you can realizing that Rosetta and PowerPC are no longer supported though.

Is there a download of the Boot Camp 5 Support Software if I'm not using OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.3?
Yes, you can download the Boot Camp 5 Support Software here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1638
How do I use the Boot Camp 5 Support Software I downloaded from the web page?
The download file is a .zip file. Double click it to uncompress it.
Double-click the Boot Camp disk image.
Copy the Boot Camp and "$WinPEDriver$" folders to the root level of a USB flash drive or hard drive that is formatted with the FAT file system (see question below for steps on how to format).
Install Windows, leaving the flash or hard drive attached to the USB port of your Mac.
Installation of the drivers can take a few minutes. Don't interrupt the installation process. A completion dialog box will appear when everything is installed. Click Finish when the dialog appears.
When your system restarts your Windows 8 installation is done.
Note: If the flash drive or hard drive was not attached when you installed Windows and was inserted after restarting into Windows 8, double-click the Boot Camp folder, then locate and double click the "setup.exe" file to start the installation of the Boot Camp 5 Support Software.
How do I format USB media to the FAT file system?
Use Disk Utility to format a disk to use with a Windows computer. Here's how:
Important: Formatting a disk erases all the files on it. Copy any files you want to save to another disk before formatting the disk.
    Open Disk Utility.
Select the disk you want to format for use with Windows computers.
Click Erase, and choose one of the following from the Format pop-up menu:
If the size of the disk is 32 GB or less, choose MS-DOS (FAT).
If the size of the disk is over 32 GB, choose ExFAT.
Type a name for the disk. The maximum length is 11 characters.
Click the Erase button and then click Erase again.
Which versions of Windows are supported with Boot Camp 5?
64-bit versions of Windows 8 and Windows 7 are supported using the Boot Camp 5 Support Software. If you need to use a 32-bit version, you need to use Boot Camp 4 Support Software, and you must use Windows 7. 32-bit versions of Windows 8 are not supported via Boot Camp. On my mac I have both Quicktime X and Quicktime 7 pro. Both applications seem to be crashing quite often lately. This happens when playing all files types. I notice it more with .flv file. • N500 with Vista blue screen/crash

Hi there, I bought a N500 (5ZG) with Vista Home Basic three months ago, and generally I'm happy. Unfortunately, every now and then, the system crashes with the blue screen coming up. There's no specific reason that I could identify, meaning it happens independent of what software/application I run
I've upgraded to Vista service pack 2 hoping it would sort it out; it didn't. I also have the latest BIOS update from Lenovo. Has anyone any idea what's going on here? Thanks.

Thanks, Harm. It will help in giving the shop some kind of direction because they miss things even though it is their actual job to know these things.
I've felt that it was running hot, they had mentioned re-appling thermal paste to the processor a couple days ago but didn't stress it.
There are 2 different blue screen issues and one is solved:
    1. The original irreparable crash which prompted me getting a new HD.
    2. The blue screen crash... on the NEW harddrive.... whenever I tried to open Premiere.(which apparently was solved when they re-installed
Windows a 2nd time on my brand new HD because my computer no longer Blue screen crashes when Premiere loads.
Addressing the heat issue could prevent future BSOD crashes and may have prevented the original crash.
Also, does BSOD refer to the irreparable crashes which render your HD useless or ANY crash where a blue screen appears?   I have been using BSOD to refer to a complete/total/final HD crash.
I don't smoke but these series of mishaps may get me started.

  • Iphone upgrade has crashed my Iphone and causes blue screen error on PC

I just tried to upgrade my software and half way through my PC crashed. It said a blue screen error had occurred.
Itunes now shows that my phone needs to be restored, but everytime I try to do my PC crashes again. This has now happened three times in 1 hour. I have Itunes v.8.0 on my pc but this hasnt been a problem till now. I am so angry that I have lost everything on my phone due to a problem like this. Can anyone advise how I can restore my phone without totally killing my laptop?

With the blue screen it can be a few things that are interifering with it. First thing unplug anything from the usb ports on your computer and if you have like a logtech webcam make sure it is unplugged and also that if it is built in disable the driver. If you are on a pc you may want to go into device manager and update your usb drivers on your computer.

  • When I quit Firefox 7 a blue screen appears

When I quit Firefox 7 a blue screen appears. I go to quit Firefox 7 and then the screen turns blue and I have to press the power button to reset my computer. I'm running OS X 10.6 with the most recent updates. This seem to have started to happen when I updated to Firefox 7. I'm still checking to see if it happens on other applications.

I've got the same problem on my 2011 MacBook Pro (2.3ghz Core i7, 4gb Stock Ram, Intel 320 SSD 120gb).
I noticed it was happening a lot on a previous installation of OS X 10.6.8 using the combo update. I kept getting blue screens pretty much on command when quitting firefox, though I first noticed it happen trying to install Microsoft Office 2011.
I reinstalled OS X 10.6.6, updated to 10.6.8 using 'Software Update' via internet and the last couple months have been fine.
TODAY, however, quitting Firefox after closing down a bunch of tabs caused the system to freeze up and give me a blue screen. I remember I was able to replicate this problem by quitting firefox after closing 5+ tabs. Can't seem to do it on command now, but I'm hoping this problem doesnt reoccur anymore.
I bought an apple product based on its claims for being reliable. I need to get work done without headaches.

  • BI 7 Bex seems to crash quite often

    Hi All,
Since using BI 7 my Bex seems to crash quite often (I hear the same complaints from other users) . Lately it seems to be even worse. it normally happens when I am trying to update the variable selection screen The system freezes and I get a fatal excel error. (guess it may be a widespread issue with Bi7)  Does anyone meet the similar problem and do you have any suggestion for this.
    Thanks a lot,

    Hi everybody,
we experience similar problems - but: and this is very annoying: the problem occours very sporadicaly and seems not to be reproduceable.
There seems not to be any client-side log or error-message in the most cases. The client just crashes.  The server-logs state that obviously the client just disappeared and hence the connection was broken.
It seems as if the crash would occour often in the context of opening the variables-screen.
We're at SPS18 - which is currently the latest service-pack-stack-level.
So if you should have any hints how to get more information about the problem, please let me know.
The SAP-Support just reacted with a link to note 9 --> problem is not reproduceable --> not soluteable --> order a consultant.

  • Windows 8 crashes and is stuck in blue screen help menu after trying to update to 8.1?

Hi all, after recieving a prompt yesterday by windows to update to 8.1 (about time!), I turned on my computer this morning to see that it was stuck on the HP boot logo. After 5-10 mins, I realised it must have started incorrectly so i shut it back down and booted it up again. After the boot logo passed, the windows 8 symbol appeared with "updating your system" or something along those lines. I let it there for a while (20 mins) then when I returned it said that the installation had faield and was "returning to previous version of windows" One thing led to another and when the computer restarted again, I am now stuck with the blue screen troubleshooting menu. Yes, this would be easy to fix by a refresh BUT... It says to enter the password for Admin, the non-existent admin account with a required password?I tried the start-up settings, but that just creates another blue screen of death. How am I to bypass the password and actually access my computer? Even if I were to delete everything? There is a cmd option... Anyone know any commands that would be appropriate? Thanks in advance, Josh

, Hello and thanks for posting on the HP support forums.  The first thing you will want to check is if there are any issues with the hard drive you put in.  Run the BIOS diagnostics for the hard drive and the hard ware to make sure there are no issues. HP Notebook PCs - System Diagnostics (F2) And. HP Notebook PCs - Testing a Hard Disk from the BIOS Please let me know how things go. Thanks again for posting and have a great day.

  • MacBook starts with a blue screen

So a couple weeks ago my Mac starting to only start up with a blue screen and nothing else. I can boot into the install DVD; however, it doesn't give me the option to reinstall only to restore. Well I don't have a time machine backup. So yeah I can't do a restore. I went to disk utility and and repaired permissions and repaired disk and still nothing. I've tried the PRAM, safe boot, command + V...none of which works.
The only way to get my computer to a bootable state is if I hold down the OPTION key and select Windows. So yeah I can work in bootcamp but yep that's it.
    Thoughts?
This MacBook Pro is running 10.6.3 the DVD in the drive is 10.6.3.

You should be able to run that installer without erasing anything. I cloned a system the other day and it wouldn't boot. All I did was run the installer right over the top and it worked fine. Never deleted any files either.
