Computer de-authorized
Anyone know the reason why my Mac would suddenly just be de-authorized? I have one computer that has always been authorized for my iPhone. The last time I synced my phone (last week), all was fine. Today, I'm getting the message *+"This computer is no longer authorized for applications that are installed on the iPhone 'xxx'..."+* I don't want to be doing something (like re-authorizing) my iPhone or iTunes, only to have it get messed up. I haven't been very much confident with Apple and their mobile software ever since my issues updating to iOS 4.
So 1. I want to make sure that it's okay to Authorize my computer, even though I never de-authorized it in the first place. And 2. Why did it do that in the first place, when all was fine before, with nothing new added or removed since the last time I synced.
Thanks.
F'n iTunes. Tried to re-authorize, and got the 5002 error message. So I looked that up and a bunch of tips came up. I decided to do the easiest, repair permissions on my Mac. After permissions was repaired, I hooked up my iP again, and again it asked me to re-authorize because my computer "wasn't authorized". I hit re-authorize, it looked like all was well, then I suddenly got a message "this computer is already authorized...blah, blah, blah...you can authorize up to 5 computers.", I hit ok, and the syncing went on as if nothing ever happened. ***?! What is Apple doing over there? Their once amazing and reliable products are acting like as if they got MS to work on them. Putting out garbage after garbage. Geeeez. In all my years as an Apple user, I have experienced more "crap" in the last 6 months, than I have in the last 20 years prior to that. Like I keep saying, it's all about the glitz and glam these days for Apple, they've stopped with the reliability and simplicity. What used to "just work", is now "works when it feels like it".

I am trying to home share with my new MacBook. The music library I am wishing to share is not displaying anywhere on my new laptop under music or library. My computer is authorized and I have tried restarting itunes, etc. Any help/ideas?
Are you using the same ID for homesharing on all devices.
By the way shared libraries don't show up under either 'Music' or 'Libraries'. -
The home computer iTunes will not let me sync certain apps bought directly from iTunes with the iPhone. The two ID's (home Apple id and iPhone id) are not identical. The Store 'Authorize' function tells me that the computer is authorized. How do I get all apps to sync across all devices (I also have an iPad). Thanks.
you need to be signed in on both devices to teh apple id that the apps were bought on to sign out on the device go to settings>store >tap on apple id >choose sign out>tap on sign in, to sign out on the comp click on stre at top>sign out >sign back in with the correct apple id

I was trying to sync my itouch with my new mac, and some songs won't download because they are not authorized for this computer. But even after my computer was authorized they still won't sync. How do I fix this?
I have the same problem. It is only with tv shows and only with programs I have downloaded after the software update.
Apple support sent me the above link too....but it doesn't solve the problem...my computer is authorized and the content is in my library and will play on my Mac air, but it will not sync the tv shows, it keeps saying my computer isn't authorized for it.
No answers here, but you are definitely not alone with this issue. -
I have purchased a new computer and authorized my iTunes with my Apple ID; however, my iPod Classic, which I have had for many years, will not sync hundreds of songs that I have purchased and says the device needs to be authorized.
I have searched high and low and there does not seem to be a way to authorize the iPod Classic. What can I do to sync my purchases to my iPod? I have tried reformatting/restoring it as suggested. It continues to only allow me to sync non-icloud/itunes content.
Help! What exactly happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

I purchased an audio book from iTunes store. It successfully downloaded to my iTunes library< but will not upload to my ipod Touch, even though my computer is authorized. Any suggestions? Any and all are greatly appreciated.
If your iTunes is set on manual sync, then you have to manually drag and drop. Otherwise every time yousyncyou'll get all changes even if you don't want it.

I repeatedly receive an error message when trying to sync my ipod touch with my itunes library with my new computer which reads, "Some of the items in the itunes library were not copied to the ipod because you are not authorized on this computer." However when I try and authorize my computer I always receive the message that this computer is authorized. What am I doing wrong? I'm missing about 100 songs as a result of this error!!

I can't burn a disc even though my computer is authorized
I'm having trouble burning discs from a brand spanking new laptop with Windows 8, and the latest itunes version! My computer is authorized, but the option to burn a playlist to disc still doesn't show-up in the file catagory. I'm baffled and frustrated....
Look at your sidebar. (If you don't see it, enable it by View > Show Sidebar.) Right-click one of the playlist names, and the contextual menu will include "Burn Playlist to Disc."

I installed iTunes to a new computer and authorized that computer but my music is grayed out. How do I get access to my music?
Is there a way to change that?
You can easily set up the iPod to automatically sync to your current iTunes library (or just do a Restore), but that will replace the iPod's existing content with content from your current iTunes library (erasing the iPod). If your old computer was "retired" gracefully and you were able to transfer its complete iTunes user data to your new computer, there is no problem because all of the songs on the iPod now are already in your current iTunes library. However, if there are songs on the iPod that are not in your current iTunes library, those songs will be lost. That may be a problem...
If you want to preserve what is on the iPod, you can try setting the iPod to Manually manage music and videos. I believe you can do that from an iTunes library that is not the iPod's currently associated library. Select the iPod in iTunes, so that you see its Summary settings screen. Check the box for Manually manage music and videos. (If iTunes puts up any warning about erasing or replacing the iPod's existing content, Revert the change and cancel out.) Click Apply. The iPod is no longer set to automatically sync. But you can add new content manually to what is already on the iPod. And the songs should not be grayed out.
However, you cannot use iTunes to transfer songs on the iPod to your current iTunes library (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store). If there are songs on the iPod that are not in your computer's iTunes library, you should eventually "offload" those song files because your iPod can easily break, become corrupted, or get lost. iTunes syncs content in one direction only (from computer to iPod), but there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. If you do an Internet search on something like iPod "transfer," you should get some links, including a CNET article on the topic.
Once all of your songs are "consolidated" in your current iTunes library, you can set up the iPod for automatic syncing to that library. -
I'm trying to email my goddaughter a gift certificate for itunes, but i keep getting a message that says, you have to contact support to complete the transaction. the computer is authorized, the credit card is authorized, and i have a userid and password with which i can log on to my account, so i don't know what i'm doing wrong. any ideas?
Hi...
My credit card is from El Salvador And I can't buy english movies?
Your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside.
"Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location."

Error mesage when trying to load songs onto ipod, computer is authorized
my husband and I have 2 different user IDs on vista and when I tried to load some songs from our public itunes directory onto his ipod, an error pops up saying this computer is not authorized to play these songs. When I try to authorize the computer in the itunes store it says, computer already authorized but I continue to get the error. I logged out of my account and back in but it still isn't working. Now when I tried to sync my iphone under my user id on the laptop I'm getting the error message that the computer is not authorized so it can't sync my iphone apps. It worked fine a week ago, this is not a new computer.
I have the exact same problem, meaning I have to reinstall a game I bought in iTtunes Store every time I plug in my iPod.
I just tried the signing out, restart, signing in proces, but it didn't work for me.. any other suggestions how to solve this?
I've been experiencing this problem ever since I updated itunes to 8.1, and even now after updated to 8.2 it's still the same.. -
I cannot sync my iPhone with iTunes for Windows. Even if the computer is authorized, it keeps on displaying an error message that tells that this computer is not authorized. I already tried to do the resolutions you have given in case this situation happens.
It's an endless circle.
See if these instructions help: iTunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases -
whenever i try to sync iphone5(version8.0.2) with itunes 12 on macbookpro.it appears cannot sync the purchased items on itune store. authorize your computer.i authorized it many times. but same response comes again to authorize.
If you are sure that you are authorizing the correct account/ID then:
iTunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases -
I have several songs that I purchased. They show in my library, but won't play on any of my devices - including my computer. I keep getting the "authorize the computer" prompt. My computer is authorized! I have done all the troubleshoots that are available. How do I get my computer and other devices to be able to play these songs? Almost all my songs play except for about 8 or 9.
If only some of the songs on an album are giving you the authorisation message, that suggests those song files are damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.
