I cannot copy or sync any songs/ albums to my ipod touch 64gb. Have no problem with my ipad and iphone.

Tried both methods you have mentioned previous many times without success - to answer your questions
What exactly happens when you try to sync?
    Nothing is copied
    Does iTunes see the iPod?
    Yes
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
    No
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Yes - just once when I first got it
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Yes computer os has been updated, I think
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Yes, on my computer and on my ipad and phone
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
Yes, synced my iPhone first, this morning
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?
Tried every combination imaginable, including the settings that I had when syncing my iPhone this morning.
Hope this helps - it's a real pain.

  • Get info sync'd back to PC from iPod Touch after system restore.

I use Windows PC and Mac Mini sharing same monitor. A virus on the PC constituted a system restore....and would like to sync contacts and photo's back to PC. Is that possible and (if so) how?

also, (same reference) is it possible to sync contacts and photos from the PC- iPod Touch to the info or itunes on the mac side?

  • Cant sync my songs into itunes from iphone

Hi guys I rebooted my computer and I have installed iTunes again. Because I have reinstalled, my songs wont show up on the library when I go to on this phone it shows my songs but I cant sync new songs because it says remove and sync? How do I get rid of this I don't want all my songs to get deleted, Also most of my songs are not from iTunes store.... Help?

By 'rebooted' do you mean that you only rebooted it, or that you reinstalled its software ?
If rebooted then aare the songs still on your computer, just not in iTunes - by default your iTunes library is stored under :
    Mac OS X: /Users/username/Music
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\
    Windows Vista: \Users\username\Music\iTunes
    Windows 7 and Windows 8: \Users\username\My Music\iTunes
If it's there then File > Add To Library in iTunes should let you add it back.
If not then you should be able to copy iTunes purchases (including apps, films etc) back from your phone via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases.
For non-iTunes purchases (and for purchases if need be) there are some programs listed half-way down this page which can copy them back : Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device
Then add them to iTunes via File > Add To Library
If iTunes thinks that you are trying to sync the phone to a new computer : Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive

  • Audio sync problem with videos imported from iPod Touch

I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation that I used to shoot video at a family birthday party. When I imported the footage into iMovie '11, the audio is not in sync with the video (video is about two seconds behind audio) and there is only the left channel of audio. I verified that the video on the iPod plays just fine--no audio sync problem, both left and right channels work. I just upgraded to iOS 5 on the iPod Touch. The iMac is running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
As a workaround, I can import the video into iPhoto instead. When I play the video in iPhoto, there are no audio sync problems and both channels of audio can be heard. I have imported other iPod Touch videos successfully into iMovie '11 in the past few months, but this has been the first time these problems have occurred. Any help would be appreciated.

Premiere cannot handle clips with variable framerate.
Your converted clips need to have constant framerate.
Otherwise use a converter like Handbrake.

  • ITunes deleted songs/videos/playlists from iPod touch and won't sync them onto iPod, but songs can still be played on iTunes however I just can't transfer them back onto my iPod. HELP!

Hey, so I'm wondering if any of you can help me with this issue, I'd be unbelievably grateful for any help, I can't resolve it and I dislike my long commute without my iPod to listen to! Thanks in advance
HOW IT HAPPENED: I had my iPod touch (32GB, 3rd generation) plugged into a speaker charging whilst playing music, and simultaneously I had iTunes (latest version for windows) open on my laptop (Dell - Windows). My iPod started to sync wirelessly with iTunes on my laptop and my music suddenly cut off.
WHAT HAPPENED: Once the sync had finished, all (almost 4000) songs (and videos) had been wiped off my iPod (including any playlists) with the exception of less than thirty songs, all of which I'd noticed were songs I'd purchased on the iTunes store, a seemingly random selection though - some from a couple of months ago, some from a couple of years ago.
I closed down everything on my laptop and restarted both laptop, iTunes and iPod then plugged my iPod in to sync. My iTunes library on my laptop is fully intact, complete with playlists, and I'm able to play songs normally from there, however despite numerous attempts, they just won't sync onto my iPod. Interestingly, no apps were deleted from my iPod. There's plenty of room on my iPod now, and even when everything on my iTunes library is synced onto it, there's still around 3GB space, so it can't be an issue to do with lack of space. I have no idea why it's happened, and the settings are for everything on iTunes to be synced to my iPod (I checked again) so it's not an issue with selective items to sync only either.
A huge thank-you to anyone who can help me!

I have the same problem!! only thing is that i have the ipod touch 5th generation and a mac. I've been trying to find a way to get all my music to play cuz it will only play on itunes but when i try to play it on my ipod it'll just show a circle with a red square in the middle next to the songs i cant play.

  • HT4528 My iPhone 4s would not sync - it kept canceling.  I backed it up and did a full system restore.  Now it won't restore my apps.  It starts on 1 of 51 and then tells me it's canceling sync and it stops.  My apps are all black. How do I fix this?

My iPhone 4S kept canceling while syncing.  In the Apple support communities, it was recommended that I do a full system restore. I backed the phone up and did the restore.  Now it won't finish the restore process.  It gets to where it will restore the apps and it says "copying 1 of 51", and then it cancels the sync.  I have no apps on the phone - they are all black and they say "waiting". How do I get the apps reloaded on the phone?  Do I have to delete them all and redownload them? I'm not even sure that will work.  Do I go to Verizon and ask if they can fix it?  Any suggestions?

If I do a full system restore on my MBP  will i get ilife off of the boot disks that came with the computer.
Hi on my MBP i am going to restore it.
It came with iLife will this be on the boot disks?
    Thanks

If your computer shipped with Snow Leopard, that means it shipped with two disks: an Install disk that contains the OS, and an applications disk that contains the iLife suite. You would use the applications disk to reinstall iLife.

  • Time Machine: Full System Restore On New iMac...

I currently use Time Machine on my 24" iMac with a 500GB external hardrive. If something were to happen to my current iMac (i.e. My kid knocks it off the desk and it breaks), and I was forced to buy a new one, would I be able to use Time Machine to restore the new iMac to the last Back-Up of the old iMac? If so, would it automati ally transfer all of my pictures, movies, music, etc. to the new iMac as well? Thanks for any help y'all can give me on this subject.

not using full system restore utility on the leopard install DVD. your current system lacks hardware drivers that would be needed for a newer computer and if you do a full system restore of your current computer onto a newer computer using the restore utility on the leopard DVD it will most likely not even boot.
however, during the original computer setup you'll be given an option to transfer user data, settings and applications from a TM backup of your old computer. that option does not transfer system files but it does transfer everything else including your pictures, movies, music etc.
You can also do the same thing later using Migration Assistant (it's in /Applications/Utilities).

  • Unable to boot after Time Machine full system restore!!

I was having some serious slowdowns with my computer. I did multiple RAM and HD hardware tests, everything seemed to be working fine. I had recently deleted a bunch of files in order to free up some HD space, so I thought that may be the culprit. So I did a Time Machine backup and restored the Powerbook to it's original 10.3 software. All was fine. Then I upgraded back to 10.5 and all was fine. Then I did a Time Machine full system restore overnight and got the message "Your restore was successful, you must now restart your computer" (or something to that effect). Now I get the start-up chime and startup screen (apple logo) but then the computer shuts itself down. I have reset the PMU and PRAM to no effect. I have tried booting up in safe made, also no dice. I have tried starting it up with the time machine HD attached - doesn't help. I guess I'll need to hit the genius bar but wanted to ask the friendly discussion forum folks first. thanks in advance.

    Hi coldengray
Did you try to start from your System-CD? Hold down C-key during startup, start DiskUtility from the menu and verify/repair disk and permissions there.
If the CD is not available you can also connect your TimeMachine-Disk, select it as startup volume in System Preferences/StartupDisk, restart and then run DiskUtility from folder Applications/Utilities
    Good luck P

My old computer crashed and I can't sync new songs from my new computer to my IPod without erasing all of the existing content on the IPod.  Can new songs be added without erasing?

    Yes by:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
However, you can make this computer the syncing computer by:
    - Transering iTunes purchases to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
    Copy music
    - For synced photos you need a program like TouchCopy or PhoneView. The do music too.
    - After everything is on the computer connect the iPod to the computer and make a backupo by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup
Note that the backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps, music, synced photos.

  • Question Regarding A Full System Restore...

My MacBook is just over a year old and I'm noticing some odd behaviors of late. More beach balls and jumping cursors when typing emails etc. ( The cursor issue is irritating... I'll be typing and suddenly the entire message will delete, or the cursor will jump to another area within the email and I don't realize it... as I'm typing it's inserted in the middle of something I've already typed.)
I was wondering if I should do a full system restore? This is my first Mac, so my only experience doing a system restore back to the factory settings has been with a Microsoft PC and THAT is a pain. I do regular SuperDuper and Time Machine backups on my MacBook, but if I do a system restore and THEN do a restore from my SuperDuper or Time Machine won't that just put back onto my MacBook whatever is causing the beach balls and cursor issues? I would prefer to not have to do a full system restore and then reinstall individually all of my current applications as well as reconfigure my Airport Extreme/ Express and Apple TV etc.
Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?
    Thanks !
    Chuck

Hi - there's a few things i would do first if you haven;t done them already of i were you. Firstly, check your disk permissions in disk utility - go to spotlight and type in disk utility - click on the application and then in the right hand pane select you macintosh hd - once you've selected that go to the bottom middle of the whole pane where it says repair disk permissions - this can sometimes help rectify any cranky issues you have.
You can also fix your preferences - this site tells you how along with some other useful tips on sorting out system problems:
    http://www.macattorney.com/ts.html
Another thing to try is to run your routine maintenance scripts - your machine will run these automatically but only if your machine is on in the early hours of the morning! I've heard that under Leopard if your machine is not on the scripts will run as soon as they can after missing the scheduled time but i've no evidence of this in my Console logs. Anyway, manually running them is easy - there are daily, weekly and monthly scripts. To run them all at once:
open the terminal application from spotlight
    at the command prompt type:
    sudo periodic daily weekly monthly
press return and it may ask you for your system password. type that in and press return
it will take a few minutes to run these scripts.
you may also need to clean out your caches as per the detail in the article listed above. you can get software that performs these tasks for you e.g. macjanitor, onyx, maccleanse etc
and if you do have to reinstall, i'd go for the fresh install - yes it is a bit time consuming but it loads and loads quicker than windows! make sure you back up your important data first.
    all the best!

  • Full System Restore with Snow Leopard Upgrade DVD

I'm trying to do a full system restore to go from OS 10.6.4 back to 10.6.3, can I do the full restore with the Snow Leopard Upgrade DVD, or do I need the original Installation DVD that came with my computer?

  • Photosmart Premium C309a series: full system restore fails to result in HP Scan functioning

I had to recently have my iMac hard drive replaced. Upon performing a full system restore from a Time Machine back-up, I have found that HP Scan fails to operate at all, despite the printer itself performing its other tasks normally. This means that ABBYY Fine Reader also fails to operate with HP Scan as its 'calling application'.
I am using Mac OS X 10.6.8 and have run Apple Software Update and downloaded all outstanding HP software. Prior to my hard drive failure HP Scan worked fine. The full restore has installed the version I was running then as now, 2.4.1.
In order to obtain the Scan software obviously I originally downloaded the full software package from HP in order to configure its functions -however the current printer driver version is 4.1.2.
From the Error window that appears when I try to launch HP Scan, it appears that the problem may relate to HP Scan profiles not being loaded in the Library folder. However when I look there I am not able to determine if anything is missing. I suspect that they are there, but not being recognised.
As I already have all the software to operate the printer functions, why should I repeat the download to get HP Scan and the scanning function to operate again?
    This question was solved.

    Hi @MJM_archiver,
I see by your post that you had to replace the hardrive and after doing a full system restore from the Time Machine back-up, you are unable to scan. I can help you with this.
Try scanning through the Apple Software, to see if you have the same result.
How to Scan: Mac OS X v10.6.
The files might not have copied over properly from the back up.
I would verify and repair the disk permissions, reset the printing system on the Mac, then run the full uninstall and reinstall of the software.
Repair the Disk Permissions on the Mac:
    Close all applications.
On the Apple menu bar, click Go, click Applications and then click Utilities.
    Double-click Disk Utility.
Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left.
Click Verify and then Repair Disk Permissions.
    Restart the computer.
    Reset the Printing System:
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
Click the Apple icon ( ), and then click System Preferences.
    Click Printers & Scanners.
Right-click (or Ctrl +click) in the left white side panel, then click Reset printing system.
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type the correct Name and Password.
Click OK to reset the printing system.
    Uninstalling the Printer Software.
HP Photosmart Full Feature Software and Drivers - Mac OS X v10.4, v10.5, and v10.6.
    Test the printer.
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
    Have a nice day!
