Computer ID Authorisation

Adobe digital editions will not authorise my computer and get error below:
Activation Server Error
Code: E_AUTH_NOT_READY
Digital Editions encountered an error on the activation server.
Does anyone have a fix for this.  I have uninstalled Digital Editions and also tried changing my password but it will not Authorise my Computer.

Ctrl-Shift-D, (Cmd-Shift-D on mac) will bring up a dialog that will allow you to remove the authorization from the computer.  Afterwards when you relaunch ADE it will ask you to authorize - make sure you do so with your AdobeID (the one that is tied to the books you want to read).

  • Computer not authorised for syncing with iPhone with IOS 7

Unable to sync iPhone 4S (with IOS 7) to my PC.  Error message is that computer not authorised.  Have tried all on-line steps to rectify.  e.g. Control Panel User settings.
Anybody have any clues on this problem?

    Hi oxman78,
That definitely sounds frustrating! Let's give this a go to see if we can isolate the issue futher:
First, connect your device and choose the "Music" tab. Next, uncheck the "Sync Music" checkbox, and apply the changes (so there is ultimately no music syncing to your iPhone).
Once you have done that, recheck the "Sync Music" checkbox, and apply the changes once more. This will instruct iTunes to completely remove all music from your iPhone, and then copy the files once more. If you have a large amount of music, this initial sync may take a while.

  • Some songs cannot be played due to "lack of computer's authorisation"

    Hi,
I've purchased an album from itunes store. But few (only few) songs are unable to be played due to "lack of authorisation of my computer".
When I try to authorise it, I'm said that the computer is already authorised. The songs are still unable to be played. I tried to unauthorised
the computer and authorise it again, without any result. When I try to play these songs by player other than itunes, there's silence. Other
songs from the album play normally. Anyone had something like that? I would be very grateful for help.

  • HT5624 I've opened up iTunes and went to buy a song, but then it came up with a box saying "this is the first time you are purchasing an item on this computer" even though my computer is authorised. What do i do?

I've opened up iTunes and went to buy a song, but then it came up with a box saying "this is the first time you are purchasing an item on this computer" even though my computer is authorised. Then when i put in my password it takes me to the security questions and i dont know what the answers are. What do i do?

A computer can be authorized to play content purchased using a particular Apple ID (the iTunes Store account).  However, being authoized to play content is not directly related to being able to buy content using that Apple ID.
For example, a parent may purchase content for a child and authorize the child's computer to play that content, but that does not mean the child is able to purchase content using that Apple ID.
If this is your Apple ID, you should know the answers to the security questions.  If you do not, you'll need to contact Apple iTunes Store customer support

  • How can I get round problem with itunes. I get message saying computer isnt authorised to play some tracks Ive downloaded, tells me to authorise which I do, then a message appears saying the computer is already authorised but I still cant access the track

how can I get round the problem I have with itunes. I have bought and downloaded various tracks to my library. When I try to sync my iphone from my PC I get a message on screen saying that it is not authorised to play them and tells me to authorise the computer by clicking store, entering apple id and password then clicking authorise this computer. I do that then get a message saying that my computer is already authorised yet when I try syncing the track again the same thihng happens. Im getting nowhere!

If only some of the songs on an album are giving you the authorisation message, that suggests those song files are damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • I have bought a computer and authorised it and transfered library to it. Trouble is most of the songs have been duplicated 5 times and will take forever to delete one at a time. Can I select delete all exact duplicates in one go??

My new computer runs windows 7. I have transfered my library from my old computer to the new one but the library songs are duplicated 5 times.  How do I remove the exact duplicates easily without deleting every one individually.  When I am satisfied with the new computer and the itunes do I then de authorise the old one.

Apple's official advice is here... HT2905 - How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls.
Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created.  If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.
(If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to show it temporarily or CTRL+B to keep it displayed)

  • HT1420 'computer not authorised to play this song' however when I put in the new ID & password - it says it is authorised - I can get no further.

    Any one that can help?
CD was raised in 2008 on a different computer, tried to reload it tonight - all I get is 'this computer is not authorised to play this song'. It gives you the option to change the out of date ID name and password to my new one - fine, it comes up 'this computer is already authorised to play this song' - then when I try to play the song again it goes back to the 1st message. A circle with no way out!!!

  • Bought 4 songs off an album. 3 play ok, but 1 says computer not authorised to play it. Stupid!

When we try to authorise the computer it says the computer is already authorised!

We fixed it. The song in question had downloaded as an acc audio file, whereas the other 3 had downloaded as 'purchased acc audio file's. We re-purchased it (for free) and all is ok now.

  • Items not copied but computer IS authorised. Help please.

Error message on synch always reads: "some of the items in the itunes library ...were not copied to iphone because you are not authorised fro them on this computer.
I jhave authorised the computer, repeatedly.
Any ideas how to solve this?
All I can think of is that some of the tiems were purchased long ago using a idfferent apple ID where I no longer have all the passwords and cant receive emails anymore.

Open About this Mac from the Apple menu.
Look for the Serial number (I think it can be found by clicking on the Version number twice). If not there, click More Info…
The Serial number will be in the Hardware Overview.
If the Serial number is missing, that may be the problem. However, I don't know how to fix it.

  • HT1848 I am not getting the option to deauthorise my computer and authorise a new computer when in the itune store.  dont  know what to do.

Not getting the option to deauthorise my old computer which isnt here anymore and then authorise my new computer.  What do I try next?

If the computer's running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.
If the computer's running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.
