Computer interferes with phone volume

My mother's new (used) eMac causes a drastic lowering of the volume of incoming phone calls. She doesn't even have to be using it--it simply has to be plugged in! If she unplugs it, callers on the phone can be heard perfectly again. All filters (wall jack) and wiring are correct. The phone is a Uniden 5.8 GHZ cordless; the phone and Internet provider, AT&T. Any advice at all from any smart person would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.....macquest

My next suggestion would be to try replacing the filter. These can be temperamental and trying a new one may resolve the issue. Normally, an ISP will supply more than one with your modem so you might want to check to see if you have more in with the packing materials that came with the modem if you still have it.
Additionally, certain volume settings are held in the PRAM settings. I know it is the phone volume that you have said is lowering but I am wondering if the computers volume levels could have anything to do with the problem.

You may want to try resetting PRAM. In the article linked to, there is a link in the left side bar for how to reset PRAM.
This should not hurt anything but you may need to reset certain settings afterwards such as date & time etc.

    Help Somebody!  My phone is stuck because I tried to sync my computer music with my Iphone and now all my Iphone does is show a pic of the power cord with an arrow going up to the word Itunes with the blue circle and the Music symbol in it!  I cant even use my phone! Ugh, so frustrated!  I entered a gift card and downloaded 2 songs and now what was going to take 2 min and cost $2.00 has now cost me hours in time and frustration.  Anyone know the techno how this works? I know its more simple than it is for me.... I just don't have the tech stuff down. Kids get this stuff better than me...

    Correct.  it does not magially appear in other places.  It will only be where you put it.

    Correct as well.  Iphone will sync with one computer at a time.  Syncing to another will erase the current content.
    You need to copy everything ( itunes library/contacts/pics/calendars/files/docs) from the old computer, or your backup copy of the old one, to the new one.

    As long as you have iCloud Control Panel installed on your computer, they should show up in your Pictures folder under My Photo Stream.

    Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
    Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

    Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
    Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
    Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
    (If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
    Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
    If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

    This didn't happen by itself.
    If there is more than one iPhone or iOS backup available with iTunes on your computer or with your iCloud account, you choose the backup you want to restore the iPhone with.
    You must restore the iPhone again and this time select the correct backup.

    I understand that after resetting your iPhone, you are being prompted for Apple ID information that is not yours. This can happen if an iPhone is restored without turning off the Find My Phone feature. For more information on this, please refer to the attached article.

    You should not have an issues with removing accounts and messing with others users backup. As long as you are not removing the main account that is yours that you use for back up, everything will be fine.

    I can't be more clear because I don't know what the problem is. My iPhoto is just not behaving the way it should. This is my second Mac with OS X and I know two ways to create a new Library and the results are the same in both senarios...
    I have tried to create a Library by doing what you suggested. I get the box that says my iPhoto Library was not found. If I click "Create Library", it asks "save as" and "where" then iPhoto opens and says "Loading Photos" but never does (and will create an iPhoto Library with the "Library.iPhoto" and "Thumb32.data" docs).
    The same thing happens when I try to create a new Library by starting iPhoto while holding the option key.
    My first post indicated the one thing that worked was to login as a new user. I was asking what the next step was because I thought there was a next step to that process. Guess not?
