Computer issues since installing Photoshop Elements 11

I have had nothing but problems in other software programs since installing PE11. The most recent? PE11 replaced ALL of my programs with itself. Try to open Excel? You get PE11. This happened with every program. I had to totally uninstall PE11 to get my computer back. Any suggestions? I have a newer HP running Windows 7. I'd like to use PE11, but wondering if its worth the frustration.

Dgjr7878 it is likely that the current installation of Photoshop Elements and it's licensing files got corrupted if your computer is crashing. Is this a common occurance? If so you may want to address the stability difficulties you are experiencing with your current computer prior to reinstalling.
There are additional steps you can try to recover from your computer's unexpected restart. Which operating system are you using exactly?

As CS 6 was never tested on any of the latest versions, there could be an issue with compatibility of the OS and the software that you are using.

Installing photoshope elements 12 and premiere elements 12 on Mac/windows

I own a Mac with bootcamp installed. so I have a mac and windows 7 (one computer)
I have installed photoshop elements 12 and premiere elements 12 on mac
and want to install it on the window side.
On the windows 7 side I do have photoshop elements 7 installed but, what to uninstall and
put in 12.
12 has been registered
and so has 7

All versions of Elements can coexist, so you don't need to uninstall v7. Also note Barbara's reply in your other discussion concerning licensing.

Installing Photoshop Elements in a computer lab?

Hey there!
I am trying to install Photoshop Elements 12 in a computer lab. We have 33 computers that we would like to have Photoshop Elements 12 installed on. We have licenses for them but the concern is the whole Adobe ID setup. This is a high school computer lab and a big cause for concern is giving students access to our licenses and them also having the ability to sign themselves out of Photoshop. Right now we are looking at making Adobe IDs for all 33 computers, is this the best way to go about this? And is there any way to disable their ability to sign out? If anyone feels like helping me out, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I don't think there is any way to do this, since PSE is not part of Creative Cloud and the usual CC for Teams management and deployment tools will not work. Creating unique Adobe IDs seems the only way...

Have just re-installed Photoshop Elements 12 ok on my Windows 7 home computer following hard drive failure. For various reasons I have now decided I need to use this computer at work. I will buy new computer for home which will be Windows 8.1. I only want Elements 12 at home so I will remove from old computer. Will I be able to install Elements 12 on new computer ok?

You are allowed to have two activated installations. If you happened to have one on this Windows 8 machine before, it is possible that the activation used for it was never deactivated (did you deactivate it before you upgraded Windows?). Talk to Adobe support thru chat. They might be able to resolve this with you:

You haven't mentioned which version of PSE. If it is PSE 13, that requires a minimum of windows 7.

In any case it doesn't matter. I returned it to the store where I bought it.
Rule #1; Don't use a product if the people who produce that product (software, hardware, etc.) don't properly support it.
User forums and\or chat lines, are useful and may help. But! They do not constitute proper support (not for installation purposes anyway).

Please follow these steps:
Try to rename SLCacje to Slcache.old
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
and
SLStore to Slstore.old
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\SLStore
and Right Click on the Photoshop Elements 12 icon and run as administrator

You can't run PSE from a USB drive, nor can you transfer PSE to a different computer via a USB drive. PSE must be installed on a computer using the installer program provided by Adobe.

I don't have proof of purchase.. all I kept was the two cd's and the instruction book.I bought it in June of 2008, and don't think I have bank records that far back.I was hoping I could get the information from my installed copy.. there a long number on the bottom rightwhen I open it, but that didn't work and a number etched on the back of the cd... but it too didn't work....

It is not viewable on your old computer. We may be able to get you a replacement serial number. Do you still have your proof of purchase for Photoshop Elements 5?

you probably should have two files, an exe and a 7z file in the same directory. if so, click (or double click) the exe.
if that fails, what files(s) (name and extension) and file size(s) have you downloaded?
