Computer keeps freeing up and have to unload battery to restart it

Hi, this is happening all the time now, my computer locks up/freezes, my start and wireless buttons flash and the only way to restart the computer is to unplug everything and pop out the battery.
Any idea why this is happening, the computer is only 6 months old.

laptop pavilion dv5, 7 months old still under warranty. After being on the phone with the help desk twice for over 2 hours each time (reinstalling new BIOS update, checking my start up and what is attached), it is now worse than before; when my laptop goes to sleep it freezes, just the start button, wireless button and hp logo on the front blink. Only way to restart the battery is unplug it and pull out the battery.
It starts up fine and works fine until it goes to sleep. They suggested recovery and wiping it clean and starting all over but I use this for work and am reluctant to do that even though it is all backed up on Carbonite, do not want to have to go through that.
If you have any great suggestions, would love them, otherwise going to call again next week hoping that this person might figure out what is wrong, if not.....then will have to resort to Recovery. Extremely frustrating.

Several times a week my computer freeses up and the only way that I can get it to work is to unplug it and then plug it back in and restart it. Then it works fine untill it happens again.    This happens several times a week (3 to 4).
I am using all the hard ware that came with it with the addition of a wireless internet atachment. Do I need to return it to the company for the warranty? Or is it something that I can fix or my computer guy.

It would help if you provided the full model name like p2-1105wb, or whatever it is - gives us a bit more info to work with.
If the PC is new and in the return policy time from where you purchased it - returning it for a different one is an option.   If it is past that date, if it's still in its one year warranty period, you can contact HP support line for assistance.
I'd try to make sure that the PC and all its peripherals (printer, monitor, etc) are plugged into the same power strip, to ensure you don't have some sort of power issue that could cause a problem.    Anything else you can provide to give us more insight can help.

Try bringing it to Apple Genius Bar and they could help you. It could be the wiring inside of the laptop. You may have to get a new laptop. But still, bring it to Apple. Hope that helped.

Not true. The music and pic sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
You really should transfer everything from the old computer, or your backup copy of your computer. Since you do not have access to the old computer, then use your backup copy of the old computer.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy of your computer ( not good), then you would have to transfer itunes purchased as described earlier. Any other itunes content would be lost.
You can e-mail photo library pics to yourself, but they will not be of the original quality.
Before syncing, enter at least one unique contact and calendar entry on the computer. When you first sync, then you should get the option to merge the data.

Go to /Library/Preferences/System Configuration
Move all the files from the System Configuration folder to the Trash.
Restart your Mac. See if that made a difference.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without be charged again. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

You can try the following expect that I think you have a hardware problem and the Genius Bar is your only choice.
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

After 2 years just keeps shuting down and rebooting after 10 minutes. Checked fans and dust, not the issue. All scans HP, Norton etc indicate nothing?

I would yank all the memory but one chip and test each one in the primary memory slot.
Maybe one of your memory modules is flaky. Not completely bad memory to me is worse than a stick that just dies and won't let your PC boot up at all.
Could be a power supply on its way out too.

I can't get install OS X Mavericks on my MaCbook AIR. During the stage " installing OS X on Machintosh HD..", the computer keeps resseting successivelly and the installation never completes. What the solution for the installation to finish successfully?

OS X install

When you download Mavericks to the USB drive it's not going to allow you to run the Mavericks installer. You need to buy an external drive then install Mavericks on the drive. You can then boot from the drive to recover your data and install a working OS X on the internal drive.
Recommended Drives
USB 3.0 drives work on USB 2.0 but you do get 2.0 speed. They are cheaper because they are popular PC drives. If you get a new computer you'll get the bump to 3.0 speed. I don’t recommend FW. The newer computers don’t have FW ports. You would need a connector in order to use the drive on a newer computer.
Size: I recommend either the 2T or 3T drives. Often they are cheaper than a 1T drive. The 4T drives have more issues and failure rates.

Check the warranty when comparing. The longer the warranty the better the drive. WD makes cheaper drives but with almost no warranty.
Locally, Best Buy seems to have the best prices.
You can get one drive for both Time Machine and clone, but it’s recommended that you use different drives for each. If the drive dies you lose both types of backup.

Open Mouse or Trackpad preferences in System Preferences and be sure the scroll setting is correct.

I purchased the student/ teacher version of the cloud membership/ design suite for os x and promptly began downloading the programs that I would use onto my macbook pro. I downloaded photoshop cs6, Bridge, Illustrator, and Acrabat. I havn't used anything but photoshop so far but I have encountered a serious problem. When I first got photoshop I would leave the application open by accedent and my computer started shutting down randomly but only about once a day. As I started using photoshop more I started closing the application when I wasn't using it but when I was the computer would shut down at some point during each project. I could deal with saving a lot as I go but now it shuts emediately every time so I can't use photoshop at all. Please can someone give me some advice, even if it is just to go to the apple store.

I had very similar behaviour occur when I purchased my first MacBrook Pro and it turned out to be a faulty Graphics Card. Take it to the Genius Bar and see what they have to say. If they don't know what's going and it's not a hardware issue, then we need to know a lot more to help you.
