Computer library shows up... but just loads forever

I've seen multiple people saying that their home sharing no longer works, since the last updates. I can still access my itunes library and see all the content, but when I try and play anything... it gets stuck loading. Any ideas? I've restarted both multiple times and still nothing.

It seems karma is with me today because I downloaded the latest itunes while posting this and it seems to have fixed the problem. Amazing. that NEVER happens. Sorry to waste everyones time.

Have You used iTunes or did you just put files on ipod disc???
Try downloading new iTunes, and try with restore if nothing hapens!

IPhone library showing up but not playable on new computer

I recently got a new laptop and downloaded iTunes for it, transferred my library folder to the laptop and imported it into iTunes. But now when I plug in my iPhone, the list of songs and podcasts does show up, but it's all greyed out and I can't play it through iTunes. Any ideas?

Iphone will sync/manage/access from ONE computer at a time.
You cannot access itunes content on the iphone from another computer.
You will need to sync to your new computer. This will erase all itunes content from the iphone and replace with music from your computer. As you have moved your music over, you should lose nothing.

Itunes fails to recognize my phone and wants me to load as 'new phone' each time I hook up. I have disabled firewalls and it will recognize one out of five times. It also attempts to sync but just runs forever, then gives error message 0xE8004006

Itunes does not recognize Iphone. It asks me to restore or add as new phone each time I sign on. It then attempts to sync, just runs forever. After five tries, it allowed me to upgrade OS, but still refused to complete a sync. I have disabled firewalls. Error message 0xE8004006

ITunes fails to connect to store or iPod software update server despite working network, fails on multiple networks - no error message, just loads forever.

I have iTunes 10.4 and an iPod touch. I have always had trouble with synching my iPod.
Right now, iTunes will not connect to the iTunes store. When I try to synch my iPod touch, it gets stuck in "Step 2: Backing Up," and the bar loads forever. I've left it alone for several hours and it has not made any progress. When I try to restore the iPod, or update it, iTunes gives me an error message that it "Cannot connect to the iPod software update server. This has happened despite being connected to the internet, on both my school network and my home network.
I've tried messing with the hosts file in the System32/etc. folder as the website instructed on the apple website, but that did not solve the problem.
Recently, several parts of audiobooks I have have also become unplayable on my iPod, despite being able to be played on iTunes. The parts are listed but are grey and cannot be selected.
I recently copied a bunch of audiobooks via flash drive from my sister's computer to my iTunes - could this be part of the problem? They were from an Audible account that I don't share.

Your iTunes stores and sync problem solution here:
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes, Sync and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Library shows songs but cant play

I looked for my question in the first 3 pages , but could not find the exact wording.
My iPod works good for all songs.
My iTunes library syncs with the iPod when I plug the iPod in, updates the song count number ok. .. but comes up with this message..... "Some of the items in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPod because they could not be found."
The iTunes library shows all the songs, but I cannot play any of them on my computer. It syas the original file could not be found.
I cannot remember if this problem happened when I upgraded to Vista, on this new computer.
Any idea on how I can play my songs on the computer. I do not have my old computer anymore.
I do not want to lose the songs on my iPod. Thanks.

I can't import a music library from home share. The library shows as only a title..not with music, movies etc beneath it to select. When I click on the library after a short wait it goes back to a music/scan for media screen because I have no music to display. on my other computer, it acts as if it would import the blank library but that is not the direction i want it to go.

IPhoto library shows up, but auto ejects when I click on it

My main iPhoto library is on my iMac, but I use my macbook air more, so I would love to beable to access my iPhoto library from my macbook air. I have all the sharing preferences turned on, and the iMac library shows up in the iPhoto on my macbook air, but when I click on it, it auto ejects. Has anyone had this problem? Anyone have any solutions?

You may also want to reset your phone - turn it off and hold the home and power button until the apple logo appears and goes away

HT204406 songs in my library show up, but the download icon(cloud with arrow) is not highlighting so I can't play the music

new hard drive so had to download a new library from the cloud. Songs are showing up, but the font is light as if shaded. When I click on the cloud download button for each song, nothing happens. The result is that I can see my songs but I can't access them.

Create a iTune and App Store account without credit card
1. Go to App Store and select a free app
2. Tap INSTALL APP
3. Create New Apple ID
4. Confirm Your Country
5. Agree with Terms and Conditions

CS3 installs, but freezes when I attempt to load it (no splash screen... just loads forever)

I have been able to successfully INSTALL Adobe Photoshop CS3: Extended multiple times, however I have yet to actually successfully RUN the application. After installation, when I try to open the program, a window appears with "Adobe Photoshop CS3" at the top and it is simply a large grey box with nothing inside of it. My mouse cursor turns into an hourglass and that's it... I left it there for an hour and a half once just to see what it would do and it simply continued in an endless loop of nothingness.
I have a custom-built computer with an AMD Phenom X4 9850 Black Edition, 2x2GB of OCZ 1066mhz Reaper DDR2, a Gigabyte motherboard with the GX790 chipset (SB750 southbridge), and a 2x1 Terabyte RAID 1 array.
It's running in a brand spanking new Windows XP Professional installation with Service Pack 3.
I have tried the following:
1) Uninstalling and reinstalling (same result)
2) Uninstalling all Adobe programs, Running Adobe Clean Script at level 4, running Windows Install Cleanup to remove any remaining Adobe remnants, and reinstalled. (same result)
3) Doing everything in step 2 again, then copying the CD to my hard drive, and installing from my hard drive. (same result)
4) Doing everything in step 2 again, then making a new administrative user account and reinstalling (same result...)
The adobe tech support guys I encountered came up with some pretty crazy (and flat stupid) explanations for my problems.
One guy claimed that my Serial was for CS1 and that somehow I'd gotten a CS1 disk that just happened to come in a CS3 box, with a CS3 disk label, which just happens to say "Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended" after you install it... Yeah... Right.
Another said I should reformat... Yeah right. I JUST installed XP Professional. Terrible advice.
Another said that he had tried everything and that it simply wouldn't run on my computer... and that was that (as if I should be satisfied that a program I just spent many $100s on simply refuses to work and there is nothing I can do about it).
Yet another guy (after I finally got shipped off to Indian technical support...) said that he'd seen this problem many times before and that it's linked to an instruction code error related to AMD Phenom processors and that there should be a patch out soon for it. However, I looked up threads where people with Phenom 9850 CPUs (My CPU!) claim to be running the software flawlessly.
Can anyone give me any hope here? I'm about to call Adobe again and attempt to get some kind of intelligent answer to my problem, but in the mean time I was hoping against hope that someone else out there has had this problem and managed to solve it.

~~~~ Problem: Adobe CS3 Master Collection Installs, but the applications don't run, but are running in a process, or displays and hangs and does not allow for Activation. ~~~~
This has been an issue for me with my dual Quad Core Xeon system for over a year. I believe that it has to do with RAID configurations and an improper pointer to the operating system for activation. I am using Vista 32 with SP1. The majority of Adobe support took me through literally weeks of pain. Unfortunately, I did not talk to Sarah!!!!
The above works and is posted again below!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1) Go to administrative tools within the control panel and go to Services. Within Services find FLEXnet Licensing Service and start it, if it is not already started.
2) Go here:

Install the patch (I know it says it's for Reader and for Vista only but this is false. It works for many apps within the Adobe suite and is compatible with XP). If you press CTRL+ALT+DEL and go to the Processes tab you should see that FNPLicensingService.exe is now running.
3) Start up any application other than Adobe Acrobat. You should be prompted with an activation screen. Enter your serial and activate the package online. CS3 should now be functinal.

I cannot start up my macbook pro past the logo with the loading sign.. the bar appears at the bottom and then goes away but it just loads forever??

Turned on my macbook pro and it just didn't make that welcoming noise and the sign the apple logo came with the loading sign and that's all it does. I tried command option P and R and then the welcoming sound came but it does the same thing. I've also tried shift s and pressing reboot and return...but still no thing..helppp

Loaded iTunes 11 to a new computer, library showed all of my songs. Synched my nano 5th gen and lost 2/3 of my songs. Dragged all from library to "Daves iPod" and it still won't add them. What's wrong??

I've tried to manually manage my account, then also "transfer only checked songs ..." and it still wants to clear my iPod. I had close to 200 songs on it originally but it now only has about 53. All of the others I can see in my library but I cant get them to transfer. What am I missing or doing wrong?

To make sure I'm reading this thread correctly, are you saying that only the music files were stored on the hard drive, not the .itl or .xml files? If that is correct, then you likely won't be able to recover your library. You'll either need to restore from backup or re-create manually. The only other thing to check is to see if there is potentially a .itl file saved on your external hard drive?

FCPX Events Library shows every DMG ever loaded!

In my FCPX Events Library I now have an entry for every DMG ever loaded - this includes any software downloads that put a DMG on the desk top. Even though they have been deleted from the desktop, they are still showing in the FCPX event Library. I can't even more them to trash!
How do I get rid of these so I can see just the real hard drives on my machine?
