  • My MacBook Pro makes a beep sound every few minutes.  Why?

My new MacBook Pro makes a beep sound every few minutes.  Why?

If you have a Seagate 500 GB 7200 RPM drive model ST9500420AS or ST9500420ASG, there is a widely reported problem with MacBooks that causes intermittent clicks and beeps.  If that is your scenario, google for details.

  • I am trying to open my macbook air but it has blocked and it makes a beep sound.

I am trying to open my macbook air but it has blocked and it makes a beep sound. It wont turn on. Is there something i can do?

Assuming this is not the normal startup chime, one beep means no RAM...so something in the path to the RAM has failed.
Best option is the Apple store genius bar to have the techs test the system and see what is going wrong.

  • My mac book keep on beeping and make the beep sound 3 time (same goes to the light) and it won't start up. Help please.

My mac book keep on beeping and make the beep sound 3 time (same goes to the light) and it won't start up. What should i do?

If you recently installed new ram, make sure it is seated properly.
If that doesn't work try removing one stick at a time to see if one is dead or put original ram back in.

I saw your post regarding the power adapter. Have you tried another adapter to see if that gets the notebook powering on. Do you see a light on the power adapter at all? It does sound like the power adapter has failed. If you can provide me with your product number I will be able to tell you your batteries part number.

  • IPod Touch makes a beep sound at random

I have a first-generation 16GB iPod Touch. I have noticed the unit occasionally makes a high-pitched beep sound (about five tones in quick succession) while I am listening to it. The unit is always docked and playing music, and it "ducks" the music under the beep, then returns the music to its previous volume. It seems to do this with no apparent pattern or predictability. What does this beep mean and how I can disable it?

    does anyone have any suggestions?

  • My mac book air makes 3 beeping sounds

my macbook air is making 3 beeping sounds and has a black screen. thisnhas happened before and i got a new hardware installed. how do i make the beeping noises stop? i want to avoid spending money again to get this fixed, please help

What have you installed on the Mac? 3 beeps indicates that memory is defective. As the memory on a MacBook Air is soldered, the only solution is to take the computer to an Apple Store or reseller. First, try to remove that hardware that you have installed

  • External Hard Drive Doesn't Appear and Makes a Beeping Sound

I have a Mobile XXS external hard drive from Freecom (approx 460 GB) that works fine on my father's G3 iBook, but when I plug it into my G4 Aluminum Powerbook (OS 10.5) it runs, but doesn't appear on the desktop. It also makes a continuous beeping sound. I want to back up all my music projects. As far as I know the USB ports work because I'm able to use my iPod. This isn't an Apple product but the Freecom website doesn't have a very active forum. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with something like this. I appreciate any help.

It sounds like a USB-only hard drive, and the Powerbook G4 is notorious for not providing enough power for many external USB drives.
    The usual suggestions are:
-Try a double (Y-style) USB cable to draw power from two ports for the drive
-Add a mains power adapter to the drive, if possible
-Try using the drive through a powered USB hub
Firewire drives don't seem to suffer from this problem.

  • Does anyone have a new ONT unit that does not make a beeping sound if you unplug the battery?

    Hi everyone,
Anyone here that have a Verizon FiOS ONT unit that doesn't beep when you unplug the battery?
Apparently the new unit alarm noise is supposed to turn off when you remove the battery.
    FiOS ONT Battery
I have an older model that continuously beeps if the battery is bad and if it's unplug.  Basically, the box demands a new battery.
I called Verizon and asked them to install a new ONT Battery box because I believe the new one won't beep if the battery is unplug via their instructions.  They are coming in a couple of days.
I just want some confirmation from users that the new box doesn't make the beeping noise if the battery is unplug.

You can now opt out of the battery at the time of install, if you do then the tech should disable the alarm at that time. Otherwise you can disable the alarm by removing the batter and THEN rebooting the system by unplugging the power supply while the battery is unplugged. you plug it back in and the system reboots and it should recognize there is no battery upon reboot and then it should not beep anymore. If it does still beep then yeah your going to need that dispatch.

  • I can't watch youtube videos, and when I try my computer makes awful glitch sounds. Is there a way to fix this myself without bringing my macbook in?

I have had my macbook for about half a year. I love anything anime and comic book related except a lot of those websites are unsafe and you get redirected and forced to click "Okay". Youtube was working just fine, until I went to one of those plagued websites and now youtube is a slow and glitchy mess, I can no longer watch videos. I can't click play, and my mac makes awful noises as it tries to play the videos. I have already restarted, updated flash player, and I even updated the software of my laptop, but to no avail.

Setup two new accounts. One as Guest where whatever you do is "lost" (not saved) when you log out. Setup another as "Standard" user. You do not want to be using your computer as Administer account except when doing OS updates or the like.
You should / could / would have been wise to clone your system "back when everything was fine" - usually right after setting up with the OS and Apple's updates.
You upgraded to Yosemite. Consider redownloading Yosemite and saving and create a flash install.
Also backup all your media files - though malware can live inside media files depending on how and where obtained.
Adware is only one part of the puzzle.

  • My iMac won't boot up, just makes a beeping sound and goes off. Any ideas?

Managed to insert diagnostic cd and got it to boot. Done scan  and shows Video Ram, Volume Structure failed. Any ideas?

Make an appointment at your local Apple Store or AASP, it sounds like a hardware fault. You can begin booking the appointment using Apple Online Service Assistant.

  • My apple i mac wont start as normal   it makes three beeping sounds

my apple I mac 2009 won't start up normally   it makes three loud beeps

Remove and reinsert the computer's RAM. If that doesn't work, use different modules.
If that only happens when you try to boot the computer to a specific Mac OS X version, it's too old.
