hi can anyone help. my computer had to be reformatted so hence everything lost.i cant find the disc that came with my u2 i pod anywhere, how can i get it back ????????????????

When you erased the disk did you select Mac OS Extended Journaled as the format option?

Download Mac OS X 10.9 from the Mac App Store. If it's incompatible with your computer, Mac OS X 10.8 will be as well.

IPhoto Shared Library - Cant Find After Restore from Backup

Hello, I hope someone can help. A couple of years ago I created a shared iPhoto library image (I believe it was a mounted image file) so that two (2) users on a single iMac could view/add files collectively. I have been using the Time Machine backup since we purchased the iMac, and for years everything was fine. Recently, the HD failed and we had to have Apple install a new one. After successfully restoring all files/settings from the latest time machine backup, I noticed that the shared iPhoto library is no longer available. iPhoto asks for the library location upon launch, but I cant find this file anywhere.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to bring this shared image file back, and remount it so that I can find my photos?

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.

I cant find instructions on how to deauthorize a dead computer. Old Laptop pooped out and couldnt rebuild so replaced it.

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. Otherwise you can "deauthorize all" from your iTunes account. Then you must re-authorize the exisiting computers individually.
Open iTunes on a computer
From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
Under "Computer Authorizations" select "Deauthorize All".
Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.

I updated to the most recent version of itunes before restoring my ipad- and now I cant find the "restore" feature! Anyone know where it went?

It is in the same place as it always was.

Your device should be in the left hand panel
Select your device the restore functionality is on the summary page on the right as usual

Crashed Computer - need to retrieve my itunes library

Hello - My computer recently died and I had to buy a new one. I haven't got my itunes library backed up so am trying to reinstate it using my ipod's memory. I really have no clue what I'm doing. I've tried following some instructions on the support pages but it seems that you need to start the process using your original computer but of course I can't do that. I have somehow managed to get my playlists to show on itunes but my playlists are not included in the music section in my library so when I try to syncronize, it says that my library is empty. When I find my ipod on the 'my computer' section of my computer - it doesn't show any of my playlist in the folders - its just got the specimen songs that you get when you install itunes.
Its been driving me mad!! Can anyone please help?? Thanks

I know there are programs you can use, such as SharePod, that will pull the music from your iPod to your library, but I'm not entirely sure how to use them. I'm in a similar boat as you and wish I could offer more help, but I can at least point you in the right direction. BTW, my computer is Windows, not sure if SharePod works with Windows and MAC.
If I discover how to do this before you, I'll pass the information on to you.

New computer trying to redownload program student edition cant find email with serial number

Here is the issue old computer broke so got it replaced. Now Im having issues locating the email with the serial number to redownload cs5 student edition. Is there a way to get a new one issued? how would I go about getting this working?

You should have an account with Adobe and in that account there should be a record of your programs and the serial numbers used to activate them.
The student edition should not be any different from any other, so you should just need to download the trial version of the software and then activate it using your serial number.

hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music' then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo
