Computer not responding after PR8 opens

Hello, my source files are from a Panasonic HD camera, I am running Adobe Premiere Elements 8, my laptop specs are
I have a Dell laptop Intel (R)Core (TM) 2 cpu, T7600@ 2.33 GHz, RAM 2.00 GB
OS: Windows Vista
Version: Adobe Premiere 8
I open the project and about 30 to 40 little icons show up on my bottom right hand tool bar, ffdshow audio decoder and ffdshow video decoder. This has not happened on previous projects. When I try and do some work the screen fades and it is hung up and will not respond. It gives me a message when I first open the project that my system memory is low, but I still have 34 GB's of 110 GB's space left
Any ideas
Thanks for your help
Allan

Are you saying that the program does completely open or it doesn't?
If the program opens, it could be that your AVCHD video files are slowing it down (since you've got a pretty marginal machine for editing AVCHD). Though I can't say for sure because I don't know what model of camcorder you're using and which video format it shoots in.
I'm also not sure what you mean when you say "30 to 40 little icons show up on my bottom right hand tool bar". Can you post a screen shot of this so we can see it?

  • Firefox not responding after I open it up

Firefox has been working fine for me and then out of the blue it stopped loading up. I clink on the icon to launch the browser and it opens a window but the web page never loads up. If I attempt to click on anything in the window it says 'not responding.' Google Chrome works fine, but every time I attempt to open Firefox the same thing happens. I have tried creating a new profile and uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox. The later worked for a while, but then Firefox suddenly started not responding again. I have also tried creating an exception for my Windows Firewall for Firefox and that does not seem to have helped either. Because of this I cannot get into Firefox to reset my browser or do anything else in Firefox, it is completely unresponsive after the window initially opens.

    Hello,
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!
    Thank you.

  • Computer not responding after waking

Occasionally, but not all the time, after I put my computer to sleep it doesn't like to wake back up. Last night it did it again, and the only programs that were running when I put it to bed were: Finder, FireFox, iChat, iTunes, Entourage, Garage Band, and Activity Monitor. I didn't have my external display hooked up, but I do have a USB hub with a Wacon pen tablet, a HP 3100 Printer, and an Epson R300 printer. I also have a 500gig MyBook connected via FireWire.
    Any ideas?

Try resetting the System Management Controller:
    1. Turn off computer, take out battery and unplug AC power.
    2. Hold down power button for 5 seconds.
    3. Put battery back in, connect AC if you want, and turn computer back on
The System Management Controller controls things like backlighting, hard disk spin down, sleep and wake issues, etc. Hopefully this should help you out.

  • IPhoto 9.2.3 - Not responding after tried open all Libraries (Spinning Beach ball)

For some reason, I created new library after I pressed Option then Click on Create New Library so I had two of them. Since iPhoto 9.2.2 and iPhoto 9.2.3, I opened and still get the spinning beachball for hours. Even I tried updated & upgrade photos and database ... still it wouldn't work. Does anyone have an advice or have simliar problem?
    Thanks!
    Scott
    iMac 4,1, (V.10.6.8), 2GB Ram, 1TB HD, & iPhoto '11 (V.9.2.3)

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

    TD

Firefox will be hanging for some reason. The quick solutions to kill the process and try again. The next step is to try to see if it will start and exit normally a couple of times, if so the problem is solved. If not the reason needs further investigation.

An immediate likely culprit after repeated problems are the duplicate session restore files, as discussed in the above KB article.

  • After trying every suggestion and uninstalling & installing with clean copy. I still get firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window

I have tried to restore to an earlier period. uninstalled then reinstalled mozilla, and restarted numerous times, but whenever I try to open the message Firefox is already running, but is not responding. Try to use "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit) to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the Firefox title bar.

  • I have Win 7 64bit and the computer "not responding" often.

The event logs show that Bonjour is the biggest problem in system failures and the computer Not Responding.  Is there a fix for Bonjour or is there a way to run itunes without it?

    Hello AEC396
It sounds like you are trying to burn a playlist to a disc in iTunes, but you are getting an errorabout missing drivers.  I found a couple of resources that I think might help with an error like this.
I recommend starting with the steps in this article:
iTunes for Windows: Optical drive is no longer recognized, or "Disc burner or software not found" alert after install

    Hi Pelle,
Why did you delete your profile? Also how? Did you use the profile manager or did you delete from the windows file structure?
It sounds like something during the profile delete has stopped Firefox from starting up. Please see the this article and follow the steps:

    <u>'''Safe Mode'''</u>
You may need to use '''[[Safe Mode]]''' (click on "Safe Mode" and read) to localize the problem. Firefox Safe Mode is a diagnostic mode that disables Extensions and some other features of Firefox. If you are using a theme, switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes <u>'''before'''</u> starting Safe Mode. See:

    '''[[Troubleshooting plugins]]'''
    '''[[Basic Troubleshooting]]'''
If the problem does not occur in Safe-mode then disable all of your Extensions and Plug-ins and then try to find which is causing it by enabling <u>'''one at a time'''</u> until the problem reappears. <u>'''You MUST close and restart Firefox after EACH change'''</u> via File > Restart Firefox (on Mac: Firefox > Quit). You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window.
