Computer not showing up in home share

One of my computers doesn't show up in the home share so I can't transfer music. What can I do to get it to show up?

Is Home sharing enabled on Apple TV?
If on wifi try Ethernet
Make sure your router hasrot 123 open (refer to manual if unsure)

ICal in new work computer not showing events on home Mac or iPhone

HELP! Just got my new work computer (a MacBook) and I'm trying to get my iCal to sync from my Mobile Me account. I have set the preferences to sync iCal calendars and have synced several times. The events that I have already entered that are showing on my home MacBook Pro and my iPhone are still now showing on my new MacBook. Am I missing a step??

Let make sure I under stand: You have a home MacBook Pro and an iPhone, both of which are syncing. But your new Macbook at work/office will not sync.
You have gone to the Mobleme preferences on the new office MacBook, logged in, selected sync, Clicked the advanced tab and added the work Macbook to the list of Registered computers.
Then you went back and checked the "Synchronize with MobleMe" checkbox.
Choose "Manually" at this point. Then check what you want to sync, such as Calendars.
Now you go back and select "Advanced again."
Select your home computer from the list.
Click "Reset Sync Data"
Make sure the arrow is going from the cloud to the computer.
Click replace and it should put the data in the cloud (which is from your home computer) on the computer you have selected.
Let me know if this works out.

Hi, Im having problems with homesharing on my apple tv. I am running latest versions of iTunes and using same apple id. I have turned on home sharing from my mac but it isn't showing up in computers on apple tv. Photos seem to share fine. any ideas?

Audible books not showing up in home sharing

On my new mac mini I brought some books from Audible they appear in iTunes
under "Books" but they do not appear under the home sharing and I am unable to tranfeer
them to my older machine where I keep my media files

Guess I should have looked at FAQ first looks like Apple does not allow us to do this

Just in case anyone else has this problem, here is what Apple replied to me: "Dear Carol, Greetings from Apple iTunes Customer Support. I am Sayantan and I am glad to assist you today. I understand you are unable to share audio books using home sharing. I know how upsetting it can be. I will help you with this. Unfortunately, you cannot share iTunes Store Audio Books, Audible spoken word content, or QuickTime sound files. In accordance with iTunes Store policy, you may share the music in your library and playlists with up to five other computers, provided the following conditions are met: 1. Your computer is using Mac OS X version 10.4.11 or later, Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7. 2. The other computers are on the same local area network as your computer, in the same subnet. To share a song in a password-protected shared library or playlist, you will need to enter a password. To share a song that was purchased using an iTunes Store account that is not authorized on the computer you are using, you will need to enter the Apple ID and password with which the song was purchased. You can share MP3, AIFF, WAV, AAC, and radio station links, but you cannot share iTunes Store Audio Books, Audible spoken word content, or QuickTime sound files. To prevent other computers on your network from seeing or listening to songs in your library or playlists, turn off music sharing. Windows Vista Computer not showing up in finder

Hi, my WIndows Vista computer is not showing up in finder under Shared. I can connect to my PC from my mac by clicking on finder, go, connect to server and typing in the PC's IP Address, Username and Password. I can also see my Mac computer from my PC running Windows Vista.
What's weird is that it was showing up for awhile but I recently changed my network key and unchecked file sharing on both my Mac and PC.
Afterwards I re-enabled file sharing on both my mac and Vista computer but my PC won't show up in finder.
I can connect to my PC and see the computer in finder but when I click eject, it disappears. I would like it to remain in finder. Is there some setting that I need to enable? Please help

Assuming that the missing machine is part of the same Workgroup/Domain:
Open Terminal and enter "nmblookup -M workgroupname" (without the quotes, and replacing workgroupname with the name of your workgroup or domain.
This will list the IP address of the machine that is the "master browser" of your network. If you are on a domain, the address should be that of your domain controller. There should only be one ip address listed.
You can then get that machine to list the shares that it see on the network by entering:
"smbclient -L ipaddressofmasterbrowser"
You should be able to just press enter when it asks for a password.
This will list available shares and servers.

Library not showing up in Home sharing?

Both my Mac and PC have Home Sharing enabled, yet my music and playlists are not showing up on my other computer. Both computers are authorized. Help?

How do you get the ipad2 to show up in home share in iTunes on my PC?

I have done the basics, they are on the same wifi network, both signed into same apple ID, and the ipad2 sees the computer and homeshare works fine on the ipad2 side. I see the computer, I see all my itunes from there, and can play them, etc. on the ipad2, but the ipad does NOT show up on the computer? The homeshare is enabled (and obviously functioning because the ipad can see it), but the home sharing doesn't even show up on the list on the left of the PC. I know I have it working properly because I had my daughter put the homesharing on her macbook pro and THEN the homesharing showed up on the list on the left on my PC, and I could see her laptop fine on my homesharing on the PC, but the ipad2 still didn't show up??? Can anyone help?

Welcome to Numbers discussions.
In a pie chart you'll see the percent sign, %, not in bar charts. If you want it to read 50% you may want to put in a text box then to that add 50%, that's what I do. If there's a better way I hope someone else will jump in here.

"My Computer" not showing ipod shuffle 2nd gen songs

Im trying to take the music from my ipod shuffle, make a file, and transfer the music to that file to load onto itunes. My problem is that when I click on my ipod through "My Computer", it shows that it is empty. This is a pre-used computer that I just recently came into possession of. I've used this method on other computers and have not encountered a problem before. Help?

I too have the same message. I tried rebooting itunes, I called my manufacturer to make sure my USB ports are 2.0, I went through the r's of the troubleshooting process, I called Apple and they didn't know what was wrong so they sent me a new shuffle. This new one doesn't recognize either. I unplugged everything and made sure that I plugged into the back of the computer. Initially everything worked for us too. I was just when we were trying to charge back up for the first time that it quit working. I am tired of all the "pat" answers without any success. Do I have to purchase a 40 dollare 2.0 USB PCI card for an 80 dollar ipod?

2nd storage pool does not show up in "add share"

Shows up fine in disk manager, but not at all in "add share" option. I want the 3 striped disks to show up as a separate entity. Will also need to do that to 4 more individual disks later, each as a separate disk, and each of those 4 shared individually with their own names.Somewhere, I read the these boxes are setup initially with only 1 share. Is this forever or is there some way I can turn on the other shares? Thanks,David

Why do Play lists in my computer not show up in my ipod?

Play lists in my computer do not show up in my ipod. I also get the message that my ipod cannot be ejected because it contains files that are in use by another application.
I have two computers and two ipods but only one itunes account.
It worked fine before but recently I noticed that my playlists (in my computer) don't show up in my ipod.

Yeah, if you move song files around outside of iTunes, it doesn't know where they are.
And iTunes doesn't have a "watch folder" feature like some other jukebox players, where it automatically sees new songs in the iTunes folder.
You have to open iTunes, drag the files over tot he library from Win Explorer. This way it adds an entry to the itl library file...which is an index of where the songs actually are.

HT3819 Not able to use home share with new apple TV from my PC

I have set up all, i think correctly, at on my iTunes on my PC, also I have added my appleID to my new Apple TV, but my PC and Apple TV doesnt want to communicate anyway.... have tried to turn off home share at both places, doesnt help. Still cant access my iTunes (at the PC) from my Apple TV (1080p).

No, I have tried the suggestions there. restarted all Router, PC, Apple TV re-started home share with my user ID and all, but my iTunes library wont show up on my apple TV anyway... just telling med to use the same uaser ID.....

PS4 disc games do not show up on home screen

I just tried Shadowfall and the disc doesn't show up on home screen. For some reason it's not in library so I can't even start it up from there. Some games are in the library do when I do inserts a game that I haven't played for a while I have to find it in the library section in order to start the game up. But Shadowfall isn't there and I have no way of starting the game. Please help! Why do no disk games show up on the main home screen. Is there a setting I can't find?

I was screaming at my kids once and put an Xbone disc in my PS4. A big question mark popped up. Good times.
