Computer reads itunes but itunes doesn't
when i plug my ipod into the usb the screen goes into a do not disconnect screen and the computer recognizes the new device in the usb but itunes wont recognize that the ipod is in and thus wont update

* Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor
minimum system requirements
* 512MB of memory (I say 1.5GB for PPC at least, 2-3GB minimum for IntelMacs)
* DVD drive for installation
* 9GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
Classic/OS9 Apps no longer supported.
Trouble is Apple no longer sells it, check eBay & such for the Retail version, not the Gray Discs...

I just updated to the newest software and all my apps were deleted. I have tried syncing on itunes but it doesn't work. Help!
Try ReSynching to iTunes. If you set up sync to the cloud, turn that off, resync to your PC. That should bring them back. You can then turn on sync to cloud again.
You may, however, want to re-think that. There is a lot of chatter about the cloud being the source of some if not many of the battery issues. Personally, I decided to rurn the cloud off until the Battery-gate issue is resolved.

Place the iPod in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Try deauthorizing the computer even if you haven't authorized it. If you've already authorized it, deauthorize it twice and then authorize it again.

Hold HOME and START at the same time until an Apple logo appears. This is called a "reset", and essentially it reboots iOS. You will need to hold for about 10 seconds.

Bought a new iPhone 6 and synced from iTunes but vibration doesn't work. I did the reset option using side and home buttons but in vain. Please don't tell me to set up a new device coz its gonna be a hassle restoring apps, emails, contacs...etc.
Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.

Whenever I update from Windows 7 get error 1602, iPod shows USB connection to iTunes, but iTunes will not recognize the device. None of the Apple documentation helps. The Apple Mobile Device driver is loaded and operating. The anti-virus software and firewall are not at fault (were uninstalled, and made no difference). The iTunes on my older machine running Vista does recognize the inoperative iPod (iTunes has detetced an iPod in recovery mode) and allows me to restore the device. Error 1600, 1601, 1602: Try the following steps to resolve this error:
Ensure proper USB isolation troubleshooting has been performed, and test with a known-good cable.
Follow the steps listed for Error 1604.
This error may be resolved by disabling, deactivating, or uninstalling third-party security, antivirus, and firewall software. See steps in this article for details on troubleshooting security software.
Error 1604: This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, uninstalling and reinstalling USB ports, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections, device not recognized properly, computer won't recognize a FireWire or USB device). If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode,put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for error 1604.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while iPhone remains connected.
iPhone should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

If you have an iCloud account you might want to consider syncing that way so you won't have to use cables but that is certainly up to you.
Try:
1.) Backup all your data:

Backup iCal: Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal one at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export > Export and saving the resulting calendar file to a logical location for safekeeping.
2.) Reset the computer's sync services and then restart the computer: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627
3.) Plug in the iOS device and attempt a sync.
--- Check the Info tab in iTunes to make sure calendars are still set to sync.
If that does not resolve the issue let me know and I'll give you a different route.
