Computer recognises rokr, but i-tunes doesn't.

Hello, I would be so grateful if anybody could help me!
When i connect my phone, it sayins it is 'connected as storage device', however it does not appear in the source list.
But, however, it does appear under my computer in the F:\ drive. Why is this so? I would of assumed that if my computer recognised it then so should itunes?
I've done things like re format memory card, checked memory card is inserted properly, checked connection is correct.
Motorola rokr   Windows XP

Have you tried turning your phone off and back on, then connecting it to your computer again? Sometimes doing this allows iTunes to recognize the phone.
Also, what software version do you have on your ROKR? From the phone's main menu, go to Settings, then Phone Status, then Other Information, then S/W Version.

  • Yet more problems!  Now the computer recognises ipod, but itunes doesn't

I used my ipod with my old laptop, but now I want to use it on my new one.
Firstly the ipod wouldn't sync, and after literally hours of messing, itunes kept saying "error: cannot sync". I still haven't resolved that issue.
But now itunes doesn't recognise the ipod at all, despite the computer recognising it!!!!
All the help seems to be for XP, but I have vista.
Why do the same problems happen over and over and over? I hate my ipod, and wished I had never bought one.
Anyone, please help before I put a stiletto heel through it.

  • Compute recognises iPhone but not iPad.

I have an iPad 3 a year old and a new iPhone 4S. Tying to back them up and my windows XP laptop is only recognising the iPhone. Have tried all the USB ports and a few different cables. Nothing makes it recognise my iPad. It makes a noise when I plug it in and take it out but it doesn't come up on the computer menu or iTunes.

I assume you're trying to get iTunes to recognize your iPad.

  • HT1386 My computer is authorized but some tunes won't synch

I've had a few ipods and a few computers that have crashed and been replaced, so it's not surprising things get a little messed up with Itunes and my current ipod nano. Right now, I have 11 out of about 1000 songs that won't synch to my nano. These 11 songs are among the many I have purchased from the Itunes store, so I do own them. I get a message saying they are not authorized, that I need to authorize this pc to have that happen. The pc is already authorized. I "reauthorize" it but it still won't work. I suspect this goes back to having an Itunes account that we no longer use. If that's true, how do I get Apple to move my songs to my authorized account, or what else would you suggest? Thanks for your time. /Janet

    Maybe:
iTunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Are you sure the songs were purchased with an account that you authorized the the computer to?
Try deleting the songs and redownload ing by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Restored i-pod now i-tunes doesn't recognise it.

I'm hoping someone can help with this. I restored my i-pod but i-tunes doesn't recognise it when I plug it in (does appear in My Computer). I tried removing i-tunes etc but nothing seems to work. I couldn't find the tech folder and the system wouldn't allow me to delete the registry keys so I couldn't try those options.
When I restored it, I don't recall it asking me to re-register/name the i-pod so maybe I quit out of it too early.
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks.

thanks for your help anyway. I downloaded the most up to date itunes again and rebooted the ipod and then it seemed to start syncing okay for about 20mins. When I next checked, mircosoft was running some test on discs in the f drive (my ipod) and then froze while doing that.
I rang the store and they said it sounded like a hard drive problem with the ipod & that i'd probably have to send to apple which would be expensive. I don't know how I managed to do this to it.
I tried the other suggestion of loading up an old itunes but that didn't work. After trying everything I think I'll have to assume that it's faulty

  • "NEW" computer not recognised shuffles - but has recognised & sync'd SHAKE

After a ridiculously long winded transfer of songs from old laptop to new computer that drove me mad I now cannot sync in the kids two shuffles one blinks green once and the other flashes orange - the SHAKE iPod was sync'd no problems and the computer recognised it but the other two are not recognised. Have read others have same problem - CANNOT SEE SOLUTION

Also have genuine iPods from online iPod store so the excuse of FAKE iPods should not be an issue I would think

  • HT1296 I want to synch my address book using the usb connection to my computer, but the IPad doesn't appear on the desk top?

I want to synch my address book to my I-Pad using the usb connection to my computer, but the IPad doesn't show up on the desk top or in I-Tunes. Any suggestions?

Try again to install the latest version of iTunes; http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Otherwise when your iPad is connected with your computer and iTunes open try several times; Keep the Powerbutton and the Homebutton pressed at the same time until you see the Apple logo on your iPad screen.

  • Installed 3.4.1 update but Lr now doesn't recognise my images

installed 3.4.1 update but Lr now doesn't recognise my images,
Installed it last night but my images now are blank with question marks on them.
Anybody else have this problem, or any ideas on how to fix it ?
Images are still all on my harddrive

Your observations are not quite correct:
    It is as follows:
    a) Question mark on the frame of the thumbnail: When you hover over the "?" the words "Photo is missing" appear; when you left-click the "?" you will get the menu <Locate>. Select <Locate> and navigate to the location of the photo. If the name of the photo has been changed outside of LR, you will also get the "Missing photo" message / question mark and when you <Locate> and navigate to the renamed photo you will be asked to verify that this is the correct file.
    b) Question mark besides the folder name: Indicates that this folder is missing. Right-click the folder name and the menu <Find Missing Folder> appears.
Navigate to the location of the folder. If a parent-folder and the sub-folders have the question mark besides them, you only need to find the location of the parent-folder and the sub-floders will also be found by LR - provided that the folder names have not changed.
Missing Image / Folder: Does not necessarily mean that the image / folder is not on the hard drive. It means that LR cannot find this image / folder.
Among several reasons, the main reason is that image files or folders have been renamed or moved in Finder / Win Explorer. Since LR has the files and folders in the catalog under the old name, it gives you now a "missing" message.
You also get the "missing" message when an external hard drive has been disconnected from the computer.

  • How do I import an iPhoto Library  (V.7.1.5) created on my old MacBook (10. 6.8) into my new Macbook pro (10.9.1) running iPhoto 9.5.1? I tried copying onto memory stick and moving to new mac, but new iPhoto doesn't recognise the library.

How do I import an iPhoto Library  (V.7.1.5) created on my old MacBook (10. 6.8) into my new Macbook pro (10.9.1) running iPhoto 9.5.1? I tried copying onto memory stick and moving to new mac, but new iPhoto doesn't recognise the library.

So what exactly did you copy over? If it's a 12 gig iPhoto Library then it sounds like the files are there. Perhaps the copy went wrong along the way.
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
