Computer recognizes iPod touch 4G as iPhone and says cannot be used!
It's been recently that I updated my iPod Touch to iOS 5.0.1. It updated without any problems but now As soon as I open iTunes, it just displays a message that this iPhone cannot be used. I have updated all my drivers as directed by Apple Online Support. Someone please help!!!!
As a first step try to Reset your device.
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off that shows up first).

My Ipod Touch 8gb is disable and says to retry in over a million mins??
I need assistance on trying to figure out what is up with my son's Ipod. I am very puzzled!! It will not let you do nothing with it. Just says to retry in like 26 million mins.
You need to place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore the iPod via iTunes on yur computer. For recovery mode see:

I just got a new hard drive for my MacBook and reinstalled all the applications and things, so I lost my Address Book contacts and my iCal calendars, but I have them all stored on my iPod touch. If i sync my iPod with my computer, will I lose these things, or will they sync over to the computer?
Also, will the bookmarks I have on my iPod sync? There's an option under "Info" in the iPod's syncing information where you can replace everything on the iPod with what's on the computer. Don't click that, and you should be fine.

Any suggestions on what I can do to fix the problem?
I've also noticed that it started deleting some of the music on my iPod touch, and so everything on it is screwed up.
I don't want to restore it because then I'll lose all the information on my apps. (Is there any way to recover that information along with the apps?) If I do restore it, will there be a chance that the error will occur again, otherwise I would have lost everything for nothing.
By the way, the software version of my iPod is 3.1, it's 2nd gen., and my iTunes version is very far behind from the new version currently available. Could that be part of the problem, too?Try here:
iTunes: Error 13019 during sync
Not updating the iOS should not effect your problem.
As long as all the apps are in the iTunes library, you will not lose app data by updating the iOS. -
it normaly last about 3 days for me but now it just randomly says its completely out of power within an hour or so of charging it even if i dont do anything.
Sounds like the batter is on its last legs. I would make an appointmernt ant the Genius Bar of an Apple store. However, first try the following to rule out a softwre problem:
- Reset:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore the iPod from backup
- Reset the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod -
My son has an IPOD touch 16gb he changed the password and then forward the sequence of numbers as a result its disabled and says connect to ITunes

After updating iTunes this week Windows 8 recognizes the iPod but does not offer an option to open with iTunes. iTunes does not recognize iPod Touch. Have followed all the steps but without success. Is there a solution with iTunes?
I followed all the instructions on the suggested page. Many files in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\ and C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\ could not be deleted. Message said ""Cannot delete files: It is being used by another person or program"' but could not find iPodService.exe in task manager (also, the "Cannont delete ... " did not mention iPodService.exe).
Deleted all that I could. Reinstalled iTunes. Still same result. iTunes and computer both recognize my old iPod. Only the computer recognizes iPod Touch.
