Computer Recovery for Pavillion dm4-2015dx

Hello! I am currently trying to access my computer, however, every time I turn it on it tells me I must contact system administrator or manufacturer for assistance! If I try to continue it gives me the option to choose from HomeGroupUser$ or User 3***** and then enter the password for the corresponding user name. Help!

Hi,
I would recommend you to contact HP Technical Support for further assistance.
And as it is asking for password for corresponding User Accounts then that means the Password that you are entering is incorrect.
Anyways please check the below link for the instrctions to get this issue sorted out.

  • Drivers for Pavilion Dm4-2015dx

So a while back I bought a computer off my friend. I formatted the drive and re-installed Windows. Because of the formatting, my computer can't access wifi as the driver isn't installed. "No problem," I thought to myself. "I'll just download them off the HP website. After all, they were just there a couple weeks ago." To my surprise (and later my horror) it seems HP has decided to change the way it does things. No matter how many times I click, this site will not simply give me the drivers that I need. Which comes as a great annoyance and inconvenience considering the fact I just used them not but a couple weeks ago.
    So, TL;DR:
I need drivers for a Pavilion Dm4-2015dx please. Any help that can be given would be MOST appreciated. The main drivers in question being the one for wifi and Intel graphics. Thanks!
Also, just checked for another computer, a Dv7-3065dx. If you have any driver info on this one as well apparently.
[WHY THE **** DID HP DO THIS?]

I had no trouble finding the DRIVERS PAGE for the first computer.  More than likely you will need the CHIPSET DRIVERS first, then THIS and THIS and THIS.  Once those are installed, then the network drivers.  The problem being, there is more than one WiFi, so some might not be the right ones.  Just try them.
Once you get to the Driver page, things should go well.
BTW: HERE is the drivers page for the Dv7-3065dx

You can try ordering the Recovery media from HP, which unfortunately, is the only option left if you want to factory reset the system & bring back all the factory ppartitions again:

  • HP Recovery Problem (How to recover)- Pavillion dm4

Ok Lets cut to the chase here:
    - I have a hp pavillion dm4, hdd failed, installed new hdd, went from 500gb to 1TB hdd.
    - installed hp recovery disks, error--Windows did not complete the installation.
    - I do not know what to do, so now I will download Windows 7 ISO files, and do a clean install of Windows 7 through USB. Thing is, can I just install the USB that has the ISO file, will it recognize?
    - I know why recovery disks didnt work, and can fix it by installing a program (Cyberlink Recovery Utility), and burning it onto CD. However, it never burns the CD, and I can never get it to work. It says "Update Complete" Then tells me to click yes, no, or cancel. I dont know what to do from here. If you are knowledgeble at this please help.

    >> can I just install the USB that has the ISO file, will it recognize?
No, this won't work your machine at this stage know nothing about ISO file. You need to burn to a DVD using a burning software to get a proper installtion DVD structure.
    >> can fix it by installing a program (Cyberlink Recovery Utility), and burning it onto CD.
The CD won't fit. You need to burn from OTHER machine.

  • How can I create the recovery discs for my AIO computer? (For Windows 7 systems)

Q.: How can I create the recovery discs for my MSI laptop/AIO computer? (For Windows 7 systems)
    A.:
    1. Locate the "MSI BurnRecovery" shortcut on your desktop or start menu. Run this program. (Note: If UAC is enabled, press "Yes" to allow the program to run.
    2. MSI BurnRecovery will prepare the files. This process may take a few minutes.
    3. Click on "Next" to continue.
    4. Click on "Advanced".
    5. Click on "Create an ISO file for the recovery disc".
    6. Select the destination where you want to create the ISO files. (Default is the D: drive)
    7. The program will now create the ISO files. This process may take up to 20 minutes.
    8. Click on "Finish". Make sure the box is unchecked.
    9. Browse to the location of the ISO files. Double-click the recovery_dvd file. (Note: Depending on your system, you will have 1-3 recovery_dvd files)
    10. Insert a blank DVD (If the AutoPlay window pops-up, close it). Click on "Burn". It is also recommended to check the box to verify disc after burning.
    11. After burn is complete, click on "Close".
    12. Double-click the recovery_dvd2 file.
    13. Insert a blank DVD (If the AutoPlay window pops-up, close it). Click on "Burn". It is also recommended to check the box to verify disc after burning.

  • Pavillion dm4-smushed with no screen; recover data?

Airline took carry-on bag and put in hold. Smushed my Pavillion dm4 laptop. It turns on but no screen. The back was also cracked where the fan is so the fan is loud now. How do I recover my data?

    Hi,
Well, hopefully the Hard Drive is still in tack.  If it is, then one option might be to remove the hard drive from the damaged notebook and reinstall it in another notebook to get the data off.  It would not have to be the exact same model if you were just looking to get the data off of it.
Another option (possibly better), is to get an External Enclosure for the hard drive from the damaged notebook.  That would turn that hard drive into a portable USB drive, allowing you to simply plug it into a USB port on another computer and access the contents of the drive like you would any portable USB drive.  You can usually find an External Hard Drive Enclosures at most computer retailers or online for a pretty reasonable price.
    Good Luck,
    R

  • My speaker as well as headphones are not working in hp pavillion dm4 1101tx series

my speaker as well as headphones are not working in hp pavillion dm4 1101tx series

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp51501-52000/sp51937.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, restart the notebook and let Windows fully load.  Open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.
If you still have no audio, open windows Control Panel, open Administrative Tools and open Services.  Check that the following services are all showing as Status= Started and Start-up Type= Automatic
    Audio Service
    Multimedia Class Scheduler
    Windows Audio
    Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
If you need to make a change to any of the above, just right click the service and select Properties, then in the dropdown box next to 'Start-up type',  select Automatic and click Apply to save the change.  Then click the Start button.

  • Pavillion dm4 audio has stopped working

    Hello,
The audio on my HP dm4-2015dx (Product #LW478UA) notebook has suddenly stopped working. It runs Windows 7 Home Premium and has an Intel processor. I use Chrome as a browser.
I have updated BIOS, chipset and audio drivers.
I have run the Windows audio troubleshooter and it finds no problems and that the latest versions/updates are present.
I have checked that the Mute button is not on and that volume control is at maximum, as well as checking volume control on Youtube, etc.
I have re-downloaded the audio driver and saved it to downloads, then uninstalled the active driver, shut the machine down, pulled the battery, held the power button, restarted, entered through the BIOS menu, loaded defaults, etc. then installed the driver from downloads and set it as default.
    Nothing.
Both the Sound icon on the taskbar and when I go into Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Sound, Manage Audio Devices, Playback tab actually show the sound level going up and down when I play a Youtube video, for instance. But no audio comes out of the laptop's speakers.
Can anyone please provide some guidance to correct this issue?
    Thank you,
    Doug

    Hi Doug,
Please take a look at this document, and let me know if the troubleshooting steps help resolve your no sound from your notebook speakers.

That's correct, this is why I posted the link to a service guide for the laptop. The card is listed in the manual so no BIOS modding is necessary. There are 2 compatible adapters but Intel is better than Broadcom..

Connect the iOS device to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased. Place the iOS device in DFU mode. if necessary to allow the restore.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

I bought a used macbook pro from a friend. Software updates are available, but when I try to update, the computer asks for apple id and will only accept the former owner´s. How can I connect my macbook to my apple id?

The first thing you should do after acquiring a used computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. How you do that depends on the model. Look it up on this page to see what version was originally installed.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard installation disc, which you can get from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the gray installation discs that came with it. If you don't have the discs, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, it should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
Once booted from the disc or in Internet Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive, which is what you should do.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
You should then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. If you want to upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, buy it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.

    Hello tennisdi,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I would like to make sure that you are correctly trying to remove the battery, and as well to confirm the point at which the battery is jammed. Please confirm the following steps from the Maintenance and Service Guide.
    1. Turn the computer upside down on a flat surface.
    2. Slide the battery release latch to release the battery.
    3. Pivot the battery upward and lift it out of the computer.
Now with the latch being stuck at a certain point (making sure that the notebook is powered down) have you tried sliding, and moving the battery in place, while moving the latch? Are you able to lift the battery with either your nail, or a piece of plastic?
Please let me know the outcome of the above steps.
