Computer restarting under Photoshop CS6.

When running Photoshop CS6, my computer will randomly restart and then on reboot will have difficulties coming back to full life (need to restart a couple more times generally). I have tested my RAM with Memtest (saw that in a forum) without reporting any issues. Running Windows 8.1, up to date. Uninstalled, cleaned and reinstalled CS6. Updated latest nVidia drivers (GTX650), still no luck after either. Really frustrating, any thoughts?

Hi Mylenium, was this what you were specifically after?

  • Computer stolen, and Photoshop CS6 too...

Hi, I have photoshop CS6 installed on my computer, but it has stolen... How can I desactivate my license, in order to use it on another computer? thx for answers...

You are alklowed to have the software installed and activated on two machines, so if you only had it installedon the one you can get it on the other still without doing anything with the lost installation.
To deactivate the stolem machine you will need to contact Adobe support thru chat.
For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

  • Can't see images under Photoshop CS6 file icons.

I have installed PS CS6 and updated it to 7.2.  I can see my images under Bridge file icons, but under PS file icons, the images are generic.  What do I need to do in Photoshop?  What does Bridge have that PS does not?

    Bill Hunt wrote:

Can you elaborate on this statement a bit, please?...
He means he installed Photoshop and updated the ACR plug-in to version 7.2.
What he neglects to say is whether he updated Photoshop itself to version 13.0.1.

  • I have just downloaded camera Raw 8.8 to my computer that runs Photoshop CS6 for my Canon 7D Mark II.  CR2 files appear as Icons instead of thumbnails.  Does anyone know a fix

Is there a way for CR2 files that are downloaded to Bridge running CS6 to appear as thumbnails rather than Icons in Bridge

You don't download anything "into Bridge".  Bridge is a just a File Browser, you put your image files wherever you want and you point Bridge to whatever folder you put your raw CR2s in.

  • Does Adobe have a plug in for Photoshop CS6 to open Nikon P7800 raw files?

I recently purchased a Nikon P7800 camera.  I am using a MacBook Pro computer and Adobe Photoshop CS6.  Does Adobe have a plug-in/update that will allow me to open the camera raw files?  If they do where do I find it to install it?

What version of Camera Raw are you currently using? You need at least version 8.3 but the latest version is 9.

  • Photoshop CS6 Extended for Mac Failure to Install

I purchased the student addition for my iMac (10.8 version and plenty of space for it to be on my computer) of the Photoshop CS6 extended. When I go to my orders to download, you have to download the Akamai Download Manager 834 KB, which I did, and it opened up the download instructions from the Akamai net session interface. Then I went to download the actual product. Akamai Download Manager 1.01 GB, which I did and that puts the visual 'disc' image on my computer. Once I open that, I open the adobe Photoshop CS6 folder and it starts to download but stops and says
    'We've encountered the following issues
Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem"
Well that's funny when you click on that, it's discontinued. When I go to the support section, it doesn't help. Nor does the Phone representatives actually help with any Creative Suite products. The online chat though it is within hours, they aren't helping either. I have tried the CC cleaner app, which did nothing to alleviate my problem, and even actually tried download CC to see if it had the old version of photoshop on there-which it does not. As well as accessing the 'hidden' user library files to see if I could override with an install log if in case I had a faulty code. Which I could not find/did not seem to appear to be one. ( Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6, CC)
What can I do for this to work? Am I missing something? I really need photoshop and I don't want creative cloud. I'd rather shoot myself in the head. And I am getting beyond frustrated, so I hope ya'll can help, you are my only hope. Thanks

  • Photoshop cs6 installs successfully but after I shut down and restart computer it disappears.

I have tried to install the trial version of adobe photoshop cs6. When I do successfully install it and then shut off my computer and then restart the computer windows tells me that the application no longer works and that it has been moved somewhere. The program logo doesn't show up next to it instead a different logo shows up next to the program name. In the previous threads I was advised to rename the OOBE file to OBEE.old but i tried tha already and it doesn't work..

    Which OS?

  • Just downloaded Photoshop CS6 - 'Qualifying product could not be found on this computer.' HELP!

Okay, title says it all. I just downloaded Photoshop CS6 (an upgrade from Photoshop CS3 Extended).
I went to enter the Serial Number, and when I did, a box appeared telling me that the 'Serial Number you provided is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer'.
It goes on to say: 'To use this serial number, you must own one of these qualifying products. Please choose the one you own and enter its serial number.'
The drop-down list under products includes: Adobe Photoshop CS4, Adobe Photoshop CS5, Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended,
Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended, Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended, Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended, and Adobe Photoshop CS3.
    Where is Adobe Photoshop CS6...???
I am very concerned and would be very grateful to anyone who could help me with this problem.
    Thank you.

Update: I decided to just re-enter the serial no. for Photoshop CS3 Extended and select the same option a couple more times, and suddenly it decided to work. To my great releif!
The only thing I can conclude is that the system just needed a few minutes to update itself (perhaps Adobe was waiting for the payment to be released by the bank?).
Either way, thank you very much for taking the time to respond to my queary, Mylenium.

  • Photoshop CS6 has out of memory errors under Mac OS X 10.7.4

Has anyone who has a 2008 MacBoo Pro with the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 512 MB graphics card tried running Photoshop CS6 under Mac OS X 10.7.4?
On my MacBook Pro, PS CS6 launches; however, any action results in an out of memory error.  The CS6 versions of After Effects, Premiere Pro and Illustrator all launch and run as expected under 10.7.4.
If I switch to my Mac OS X 10.6.8 startup volume, Photoshop CS6 runs as expected.
I have support cases open with Adobe, NVidia and Apple.  Adobe thinks I need to update the display drivers.  NVidia says display drivers must be provided by Apple.  Apple says that the display drivers are current.  The Apple support agent said that he can escalate the case if the issue can be reproduced on more than one computer.
I'd love to keep my MacBook Pro running another year or so without having to reboot in 10.6.8 every time I need to use Photoshop.  I'd stay with 10.6.8, but of course iCloud requires 10.7.4.
I have not tried 10.8 yet, but it's on my troubleshooting list.
Also, PS CS6 runs fine under Mac OS X 10.7.4 on my 2010 iMac.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
    - Warren

It looks like it was indeed the display driver for the NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 512 MB graphics card inside my 2008 MacBook Pro.
It seems that this driver only gets installed if you upgrade from Mac OS X 10.6.7 to 10.7.4 while the startup drive is connected to the MacBook Pro itself.  I had updated while the startup drive was connected to my 2010 iMac. Accordingly, I could have reinstalled Photoshop 100 times without it ever launching as expected.  Having used the external startup drive with three other Apple computers (all 2010 or newer machines) with Photoshop CS6 launching as expected, I had just assumed (mistakenly) that it would work as expected with my 2008 computer.
So, this was simple enough to resolve by upgrading the OS on the external startup drive while having it connected to the MacBook Pro.   In hindsight, this makes perfect sense.

  • Photoshop CS6 "Error: 1" returns after every computer reboot.

I have the 64-bit version of Photoshop CS6 Extended (education license), on Windows 7 64-bit. I can install the software without any problems and it works after that. But once I shut down the computer and restart it, the following error comes up when I try to open the software:
After this, the only way to get Photoshop up and running again, is to reinstall it. This means that I have to reinstall the software every morning.
It seems like something is deleted after each reboot. I need to know every folder and registry value Photoshop uses outside the actual folder where I install it, so that I can backup it.
    Please help.

  • Photoshop CS6 computer freeze

I'm having a continual issue with Photoshop CS6 (13.0.6 x64) completely freezing my MacBook Pro when doing the following action:
    Edit > Transform > Scale
I am able to use this action instead without any issues:
    Edit > Free Transform
    About my Mac:
    OS X Yosemite 10.10
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013)
Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB

If the whole computer freezes (can't force quit, have to reboot), then you are looking at an OS bug, a low level driver bug, or defective hardware.
Applications cannot cause a system hang, shutdown, or restart.
Given that MacOS 10.10 is a new OS version with a number of unsolved issues, it is most likely a driver or OS bug that you are hitting.
