I noticed today that skype froze my computer whenever I made or joined a call, and I have to restart my computer. I've had this issue before, but me not being techy, don't remember how to fix this issue. I have a AMD Radeon R7 200 series.

Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool.
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.
Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.

Authorize Computer screen freezing

Hello,
Every time I open up the "Authorize Computer" in my laptop's iTunes, the program stops responding. It acts as if there was another, invisible modal dialog on top of the authorize computer dialog, so clicking anywhere in the main iTunes window or in the authorize computer window results in a beep and a "disabled" beep. My only choice after this is killing the process in Task Manager.
I need to authorize my computer so I can download again the apps I bought for my new iPod Touch... (I used to have another computer and another iPod Touch, both of which are gone now.)
I'm using Vista Home Premium SP1 in Brazilian Portuguese, and I've already tried reinstalling iTunes and deleting the setting folders in \Users\...\AppData and \ProgramData. This is happening on iTunes 8 (both pt-br and en-us); I haven't tried with older versions yet. My laptop is a HP tx2510us tablet.
Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone could offer me help, or at least some clues..?

Got it!
If I run iTunes as an administrator (I'm using an admin account with UAC enabled), it works. I guess the elevation prompt is what's blocking the input in the sign in window -- except the UAC elevation window is not showing up, so I get stuck!

Maybe someone can help me here. I ran into problems the last couple of days when I am typing the computer screen freezes for a few seconds,then it will blink,and let me type a few lines then does it again. I also noticed it does it sometimes when I'm visiting a news site,and going from link to link. I did run a disk cleanup,but that didn't help. I'm using a Satellite A105-S2716,and I have Windows XP-Home. I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what may be happenning..Thank you for your help...

My 3rd generation ipod touch will not connect to itunes. i plug it up to the computer by USB and it makes a jingle and my computer recognizes it in the my computer screen, but it will not connect to itunes. what should i do?

Before you reinstall the Apple software, also remove iCloud vi Control Panel Remove programs. The reinstall the Apple programs

When playing music on my ipad the screen freezes and i am not able to view album covers or make any changes i am only able to hear what i selected.
This is the third time it has happened since i updated to the new IOS 5.1. It never happened before.
If i go to Summary and restore the ipad to the factory settings then i'm able to run it as normal.
Is this a glitch in the new software,or a problem with my ipad?

I'm finding Multicam, combined with Compound Clips to be extrememly efficient.
I started with 2 different video clips, along with 2 different audio clips.
Layed out both clips side by side (visually, they are on top of each other on the timeline),and made that a single compound clip.
Then I laid out both audio clips on top of each other on the timeline and made those a compound clip.
So now I have
2 original individual Video shots
1 compound video shot of the 2 above side by side.
2 original audio tracks
1 compound audio track
Next I made a multicam track, and added to it all 3 video shots (2 original + 1 compound) And I added the compound audio track. I set that audio track to be "the" track.
It's just a little bit of setup, but really not that bad, and the ability to use the multicam feature to switch between shots, while keeping everything in sync is fantastic!

Connecting iphone makes computer screen go blank

I've had my iPhone for a few months. Initial syncing worked fine. As soon as I tried to sync it a second time with upgrades, new messages, new apps etc already on the iPhone, it didn't acknowledge the iPhone in iTunes, and made the computer screen go black. It does this every time I connect the iPhone.
Went to an Apple sales place, who restored the phone to factory settings, went home, synced fine. Again, next time I tried with all new stuff on the phone already, blank screen.
Weird thing is, my iPod touch works fine on both this and another computer. iPhone has this issue on one computer (where all my photos and other stuff is) but not the other. It's almost like my Toshiba computer and iPhone hate each other!
Any ideas on how to fix this? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, and also stopping and restarting the ADMS(?)....

What make / model computer are we working with? What operating system?
Anytime I hear of a computer screen going blank after running for an extended period of time my first thought is going to be heat.
Open up your system and check it and ensure all fans are working properly and it is cleaned out. Remove all dust bunnies and thoroughly clean the inside of the computer with compressed air.
Especially check any fans that may be located on or around the video card.

Computer freezes whenever I turn on screensaver, and . . .

System Preferences freezes whenever I try to edit/change the screensaver.
I have my mac set to "hot corners" so that if I drag my mouse to the lower right corner, my screensaver will turn on. I sent in my macbook a few weeks ago to have the optical drive repaired, and when it came back, I began having another problem:
Whenever I turn my screensaver on, my macbook freezes. My screensaver is set to mosaic pictures, I think. When I drag my mouse to the lower right corner, the screensaver doesn't start and all I can see is the time (if the time ever shows up). Then I shake my mouse, etc, to try to get back to my desktop and my computer freezes and I have to restart it.
So I figured maybe it was something with my screensaver, so I went to system preferences to try and change it. I cannot click ANYTHING beyond "screensaver" (which is next to desktop at the top of the desktop/screensaver window without system preferences freezing! I can't change my screensaver, I can't change the options, I can't select different pictures, I can't click anything without system preferences freezing, and when that happens I have to force quit the application.
Any idea what is wrong here? Has this happened to any of you? What should I do?

I started having a problem with screensaver immediately after installing a batch of Apple updates, including a security update, the JAVA update and a compatibility update to QuickTime, plus the Camera RAW Update, after which I could install the Safari update to 3.2.1, which I did. The computer freezes, evidently when attempting to end the screensaver either manually, by a mouse movement, or automatically when "time is up" and it is supposed to exit screensaver and put the monitors to sleep. I have been unable to determine the cause, though my suspicions are with JAVA and Safari, because I happen to know that those running the Safari 4 beta have a problem where any QuartzComposer screensaver will not work. However, I am not getting ANY log reports of any problems whatsoever. I've tried several different things but am still ignorant of what's going on.

How do I get an iMac to automatically restart when screen freezes and computer has to be restarted at plug

Occasionally the screen on the Imac will freeze and the compute has to be restarted at the plug, but when the plug is switched back on the computer only switches back on fully with the screen coming on if you switch a button around the back of the computer, but I remember when using an iMac G4 it would come on automatically when th computer was switched on at the plug. Is there any setting or any software that will automatically restart the computer when the computer is off and I restart it at the plug?

You cannot, what you need to do is find out why your computer is freezing. Perhaps you can shed some light by posting an EtreCheck report and we can see how your system is configured and look for any obvious red flags. You can get EtreCheck by clicking http://www.etresoft.com/etrecheck

Can't update to 10.2.8 as screen freezes and computer locks up when using Pref/view/update/10.2.8 100 meg combo update. I have to wipe disk and reinstall 10.2.0
I can't find a stand alone combo that works with 10.2.0 - indeed I can not find any update for 10.2.0. I do find discussions of the 10.2.1 and 10.2.2 updates, and once one has 10.2.2 there is a combo to get to 10.2.8.
What is the solution - by the way I like 10.2.0 better than prior 9.2.2, and do not mind having to wipe disk and lose 9.2.2. But my wavelan 16 bit wireless PCMIA card, indeed any airport card, no longer is recognized. Indeed I can't find Airport. This is a 10 year old computer and files/docs etc are long gone (but life was good until I decided to move to X this month). How do I correct this lack of wireless (it does connect directly to my Ethernet line so getting on the web is no problem)?

Run Repair Permissions in Disk Utility, found in Applications/Utilities/ before you start and once again when you finish.
During the installation process, just wait till the system completes things and not use any other applications until the update is finished.

Downloaded iTunes, now computer freezes whenever I insert iPhone/iPod.

I recently updated to the latest version of iTunes and when I come to sync my iPhone/iPod Nano, the computer totally freezes (including mouse cursor and music).
iTunes support told me that it could be due to out-of-date drivers, however I've updated all my drivers and the problem persists.
Any ideas on how to fix this problem would be appreciated.

I have almost the exact same concern. Mine happens with just ITunes open or when device is connected. I notice that after I sync and remove the phone in a while my computer will lock up tight. I’m almost positive it locked up with just ITunes open and no device connected. You can't do anything! I have had my curser still messed up after reboot and had to reboot a second time to get things back to normal. I'm using windows XP SP3, Internet explorer 7.0.5730.13 and iTunes 8.2.1.6. It's getting to the point that I charge my iphone 3G from a wall charger because I need to reboot every time! If you’re having the same concern, please post! We are obviously not the only people with this concern. If enough people post maybe Apple will do something!
As far as having drivers out of date, which ones?! I have all the updates from Microsoft. There are way too many drivers to just start going through one at a time. Are we just supposed to update all of them or are there specific ones to look at. That answer paints way to wide of a brush stroke. Can anyone be more specific on which ones?
The other concerns I have is my phone is getting slower and slower. I can be texting someone and 4 to 6 letters are typed before they even show up on the screen! I can count to 5 sec or more waiting for simple things to open. I have also just restored the phone 3 weeks back or so for the same problem because that’s what all the post said and it did not help much.
I also notice that the service on the iphone seems to have changed. Before I had 5 bars sitting in my house and now I'm lucky if I have 2 bars sitting in the same room same seat. Not to mention that the network seems to be crawling! It's less frustrating to not use the browser and wait till I get home to find info.
I have to say that in the beginning I was such a sales person for the iphone! I have personally helped sell at least 7 iphone! I was one of those people you wish would just shut up about the new toy! But as time goes on it's really losing its luster! It seems that every time we get an update the concerns it add to the phone are not worth the updates! Reset the SMC and PRAM, if the issue continues then you likely have a failing GPU (hardware) that requires repair. To be sure take it in and have it professionally assessed.

jamiesfromportland, greetings: I do not take issue with your very valid reasons for purchasing RAM from Apple. However by recommending not to purchase RAM from third party vendors I would suggest is unfounded advice. Most of the problems that occur with third party RAM are attributable to the lack of adherence to the required specifications, viz. this post.
I would be willing to wager that purchasing RAM from reputable vendors such as OWC or Crucial one would find similar fail/success ratios as those purchased from Apple. In both cases this assumes that the specifications are adhered to.
I have always purchased RAM upgrades from third party vendors with no performance issues. True that I do so to save money but I do not skimp on quality.
