My laptop was stolen. It had my itumes library on it. How do I transfer the songs that are in my ipod to the replacement computer? Thanks.

I downloaded Yamipod but when I connect my ipod to the usb, I keep getting a picture on the ipod screen of the charger and a wall outlet. Yanipod indicates that it can't find the Ipod. Any further thoughts? Thanks

Originally, my PC was underpowered but had large disks. So I imported my CD collection to my PC, but then ran iTunes from my laptop across the network.

Your iPod is designed to sync with only one iTunes library at a time. It will recognize the iTunes library on the Mac as a new library. If you sync the iPod with this new library, all content will be erased from the iPod and replaced with what is in the new library. So what you will want to do is copy everything from the iPod to your new iTunes library on your Mac first.

iTunes will only transfer music purchased from iTunes from the phone to your iTunes library. Music from other sources can only be transferred from your phone to your iTunes library using 3rd pary software such as Touch Copy. The sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases.
The ipod is not a backup device.
You need to copy everything back using your backup copy.

This is true. Ipod will sycn with one and only one library at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content.
This is one of the many reasons that always maintaining a backup copy of your computer has always been very basic.

If your backup copy of your computer was not stolen, then use it to put everything back.
Otherwise, authorize your computer for your itunes account, connect iphone, do not sync, Click: File>Transfer Purchases
This will transfer itunes purchases from the iphone to the computer.
Enter at least one unique contact and calendar entry on the new computer. When you first sync, then you should get the option to merge the data.

I'm having a similar problem, but I do have the key and is not working anyway.
My old pc was running on windows 7 and my new one is an apple running on Lion.
My phone is an Iphone IV and I can see all the bookmarks there.
In order to sync, what I did was click on the "I don't have the device with me", I entered the key that was provided and the process finish ok. It says congratulations, etc, etc.
But the bookmarks are not there, I tried merging data and replacing data on this computer options but is the same.
Any suggestions?
