Computer telling me I need an updated version of Flash Player, but I have the latest

I am trying to open a particular document, and when I click the link my computer says "content on this page requires a newer version of Adobe Flash Player." I am at my wits end and have been on hold waiting for technical help with Adobe for over half an hour.
I am using Google Chrome. This is the version my machine is telling me I have:  11.7.700.179

"If you've forgotten the Apple ID password how did you log in to make the last post?"
Exactly! The password I used to log on here and write my post I figured was the same Apple ID password I would use to reset my computer login password. But my computer isn't recognizing it as the correct password so it wont let me update my login password. I have 2 user accounts on my computer.
As far as the link you provided, I already looked to that for help earlier. It states:
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Users & Groups, click the lock to unlock it, then provide an administrator name and password. Select a user, then click Reset Password.
I did these steps, but I don't remember my admin password. The question is: How do I reset my admin password so I can reset my log in password.
Is my admin password the same password I use to log onto this website to post questions? If so, like I said previously, I already reset that password and my computer isnt recognizing it.

  • Why does Adobe keep telling me I need an update for my Flash Player?

When I say OK, it says my system won't support it. Shouldn't it know that before telling me I need an update? I am runing Snow Leopard.

What is your installed Flash Player version?
You can try to download the latest version from http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac/install_flash_playe r_11_osx.dmg

  • How do I get rid of the notice that I need to update, when Firefox then tells me I have the latest version when I click the link to get the update?

This notice has been on the page under the Google box for the last few days. There is a link to click on to update. The next page says that I'm up to date but suggests downloading Android or offers a download of Firefox if I'd like one.

Thanks for the help. It's undoubtedly my error in not saying I'm a Mac user up front. I got there & chose return to default. Turns out that's where I have been all along. It's the Mozilla Firefox Start Page. But it includes this silly notice that I don't have the latest version of Firefox! Seems to me there's a bug (or whatever, I'm not real techy) in the basic design of the Firefox home page. Maybe it hasn't been updated for users of Lion?

  • I try to download an app, but it says I need a new version of iPod software, yet I have the latest version.

I've had this issue a couple times now. I have a iPod touch. It is a couple years old, but still new enough to have dual cameras. There have been a couple apps I've tried to load, and it tells me I need a new version of iPod software. I go to the iPod software version screen, and it tells me I have the latest version available.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Kurt

See if you can download the last compatible version by:
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.
If not successful then you need a newer model iPod if you want to use that app

Your problems come from the abomination Microsoft calls a browser---Internet Exploder 11.
IE has always been the problem child of browsers, but 11 has got to be the biggest pile of garbage to come out of Redmond, WA since Vista. They rewrote the "User-Agent Strings", which websites use to identify the browser and provide the proper content for it, like ActiveX specific things. Some sites now ID it as Gecko (Firefox) while others ID it as Webkit (Chrome or Safari). Problem is, that when the content is adjusted for those User-Agent Strings, it REQUIRES the appropriate browser engine, which IE doesn't have (IE uses a Trident engine). EVERYTHING falls apart after that.
So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using a different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

  • I cannot open iCloud documents on my MAC I went to preferences etc and it did not give me access. My error says I need an updated version of numbers but I have the latest version

I cannot open iCloud documents on my MAC I went to preferences etc and it did not give me access. My error says I need an updated version of numbers but I have the latest version

You cannot access iCloud on a Mac running Mac OSX 10.4.  Are you sure, the system version is correct?
If you are running iWork '09 (iWork 09 9.0.1) on your Mac with Numbers 2.3, you must at least have MacOS X 10.5.6 installed.
if you want iCloud support for iOS apps, you need the iWork 9.3 update, see:  About the iWork 9.3 Update
And this update requires OS X Lion v10.7.4
Is your iMac compatible with Lion or later?

  • How do I update my iPhone 3G firmware but not to the latest version?

How do I update my iPhone 3G firmware but not to the latest version?
I currently am running 3.1 but would like to update it to the 4.1 version (not the latest 4.3 version). How do I do this? I have already gone online and downloaded the 4.1 firmware for iPhone 3G but not sure how to install it. I unzipped the file then tried to do the Shift>Update trick but none of the downloaded files could be selected. Am I doing something wrong?

There is no official way to do what you want, that's why the files can't be selected. iOS 4.2.1 is the last officially signed firmware available for your phone. If you want to install any other firmware you'll have to go elsewhere for instructions as such cannot be discussed here, per this forum's terms of use, sorry.

  • Where can I find the program updates for each updated version of Flash Player?

Where can I find info on different updated versions of Flash Player?
         This info includes:
              Changes/updates/improvements to the program
              Version number
Also, how do I view my own program's version number?  I'm sure it's straightforward but I haven't tried looking.
    Thanks.
