Computer Time/Date Changes to December 31, 2000????

Okay this is really weird. I opened up my MacBook Pro after it'd been in sleep mode and the display wouldn't show. So I held down the power button, booted it back up, and my date was set to December 31, 2000, and the clock was about an hour behind. It had also forgotten my password for the network I'm usually logged into.
What kind of issue is this? Is it just a freak occurrence of should I be expecting this to happen again?

That means your PRAM battery is most likely dead. It maintains settings such as Time and Date.
Try posting this in the MacBookPro power and battery forum. I know Tower Mac battery info but am not well versed on portable Mac's PRAM batteries. I do know it is separate from your main battery.

  • Report to bring CATS Time data changes

    Hi,
I need a report to bring CATS Time data changes during a certain month.
Is there any report that does this?
And is there any idoc that is populated with this information and a report to create it?
Or for example a function that returns this information.
    Thanks.

  • 1231AP Time/Date change

The only way I can figure out how to change the time/date on 1231ap's is through telnet/console. Any way to do so through the web interface?

    Hi Dave,
I beleive you can change the Time and Date via the Web Interface, navigate to Services--NTP. There you will find a section named "Time Settings".
    Also, here is a link to the Commands;

  • Issue with time/date change.

    Hello,
I'm having issues after changing the time/date zone settings, after I change the time zone (new setting), apperently it is correctly saved while exit (it prompts), but when I return to see the time/date settings once again, the timezone remains the same as the old setting.
I've tried by changing the source type: Blackberry, Network or Off but its the same.
What can i do to solve this? firmware update?
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards.

Ok, I was at the Apple Genius Bar yesterday, and among other things to address my frequent beachball concerns, the Genius repaired disk permissions and reset network settings.
I checked the automagic time/date/time zone settings, and it worked perfectly.
I get home, and the MacBook thinks I'm back in Rexford, Idaho again, throwing off my time zone and time. Argh!

  • WTH Time & Date Changed On It's Own!!!

So yesterday afternoon my Z30 tripped out and set the time and date to 10:28am 2/21/2014.  It was 4/232014 and about 2:45pm.
I did not have it set to sync the time and date automatically in the settings.  I did however go and set it so it would go back to the real time and date but it did not change the time and date to what it was supposed to be.
Then I started getting alerts about how my SSL certificates were messed up for my email accounts (three total).
I set the proper time and date, then shut the phone off and turned it back on.
Then my work account started loading up close to 1000 old messages (I had it set to only sync the last 30 days) and it was loading up into February.
So I deleted that account and reloaded it.
    Why would this happen?
I had an older BB since 2008, ran it for eight years and then another two and it never did this, had an iPhone for a year plus and it never did this.
Should I expect this to happen every few months (bought the phone new mid February 2014)?
Great phone, but this kind of stuff is strange, somewhat disconcerting and simply should not happen.

I only point ot the certificate based on your other information posted, could be purely coincidental, perahps not.
    JimmyJ111 wrote:
In settings "set date and time automatically" was "off".
On the same screen, at Auto Update TimeZone, that was set to OFF as well?
    Both settings were off?

  • IPhoto Time/Date Change problem

There is one particular event in my iPhoto program that registered the wrong date when downloaded.  In trying to change it, the program automatically sets the date about 130 years earlier, regardless of what date I type in.  It only happens with this one file.  I have had to change others and they have worked fine.  Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?  After repeated attempts, I'm back to the 1600s!

How are you trying to change the date? iPhoto has two methods - "Photos > Adjust Date and Time" and "Photos > Batch Change > Set Date and Time".
If you not yet have tried "Batch Change", try if that will help, if you use the option "Modify Original File".
Only "Batch Change" will set all selected photos to the same date and time, with an optional increment. So you to correct the images in groups of photos taken at the same time.

  • SCADA Time data continuously transfer to PLC

Would like to send the computer time data to the PLC on a regular bases for sync'n purposes.
Created a POT that uses a V memory location in an Automation Direct PLC.
The POT also has a connection to System.time
It sort of works BUT since it is reading the PLC, the POT is written over even if the connection updates.
Tried making the connection with "value" and with "reset" and "resetvalue".  Had rest trigger by a rimer and by putting "0" into the PLC.
It gets locked on the the last value sent.  Sometimes changes, but not sure its luck or fooling around with it.
Is there and easy way to send data like this to the PLC on a regular bases.  Can do it with a bit but not successful (yet) with analog.

In Lookout, the time value is a double, such as 40200.643584, where 1 represents 1 day.
If you want this double to be written to PLC, you can just create this connection:
    PLC.address = now(pulse(on,00:01,00:01))
The second and third parameters of pulse() are the pulse period and pulse duration. You can set them accordingly.
Actually I don't understand why your pot is written over. I think you should only write this PLC address but not read it.

  • My computer will not let me type my password or move the mouse even though the date and time are changing and it's making a spinning noise what do I do??

    Meredith199,
does your MacBook Pro have an Eject key (⏏) in the top-right corner of the keyboard? If so, does pressing Control-⏏ show a restart/sleep/shutdown dialog box?
If you press Shift-⌘Q, does your MacBook Pro recognize that as an attempt to log out?

  • Macbook Pro- time and date changes to random?

My 2011 Macbook Pro's battery died. I plugged it in, and it turned back on. After starting up, I got a message saying:
Your computer's clock is set to a date before January 1, 2008. This may cause some applications to behave erratically.
And my clock & date was, in fact, set to an incorrect time and some date in 2000. I just corrected the date and it was fine.
Any idea why this happened/if it's a sign of a problem?

Then its time got set to (JANUARY 1 2000) i am an admin on my computer but when i go to date and time i cannot change the date and time? i can click the golden lock pad in the bottom right corner but when its unlocked i am still unable to change the date and time ANYONE PLEASE!! I'm trying to get my 2008 R2 server (physical server) to synch with an external time server. I've read other threads on the topic but have not found a solution. I'm sure i'm missing something.
First the step leading to the error:
    w32tm /resync /rediscover
Sending resync command to local computer
The computer did not resync because no time data was available.
    Following is the history:

    PDC                         DC-01.coastal.local
    RID pool manager            DC-01.coastal.local
    Infrastructure master       DC-01.coastal.local
    The command completed successfully.
    next:
    w32tm /config /manualpeerlist:time.nist.gov,0x1 /syncfromflags:manual /reliable:yes /update
    The command completed successfully.
    next:
    net stop w32time && net start w32time
The Windows Time service is stopping.
The Windows Time service was stopped successfully.
The Windows Time service is starting.

    w32tm /resync /rediscover
Sending resync command to local computer
The computer did not resync because no time data was available.
    Next:
Did a restart of the server and repeated:
    w32tm /resync /rediscover

The computer did not resync because no time data was available.
    Next:
    Ran the following:

    Hi,
You may need to update command w32tm /config /syncfromflags:domhier /update, to change the IntranetServer w32time type to nt5ds (this sets the service to pull from the AD).
For more detailed information, please refer to the thread below:

  • ICal suddenly changed to December 2000 and can't change it?

    Hi All,
This morning my computer froze and I had to restart it. When I turned it back on my iCal seems to think it is December of 2000 and I can't seem to fix it. Does anyone know a fix for this? It's really messing me up!
    Thanks in advance,

  • The TIME & DATE are changing everytime I synch my touch(((( How to fix it

    hi,
The TIME & DATE are changing every time I synch my touch by pluging it into the computer (not if I sync manually).... AND the time is not the same as on my computer...
I searched the INTERNET and a very BIG number of people are having the same problem as me.... WHY APPLE can't do anything about it?!!? it drives me crazy like ****
My Ipod is not jail broken and my current version is 2.0.2
    ................................

I had this same problem when I first got my iPod touch. The solution is simple. When you use iTunes and don't close it when your computer sleeps/hibernates, the time on iTunes stays the same as when you put your computer on sleep.
Try to open up iTunes, and close it when your computers sleeps, and then open up iTunes again and sync your iPod touch. Don't forget to close up iTunes when you put your computer on sleep.
    Hope this helps!
