Computer to iPad sync issue

I'm using PS Touch on my iPad with creative cloud.  If I create a project on the iPad, it syncs just fine and I'm able to pull it from the cloud on my MacBook Pro.  However, when I create a project on my MacBook and upload it to the cloud, it doesn't show up on the iPad.  I've tried many different filetypes (psd, jpg, png, etc) at very high and very low resolutions.  No matter what I try, files wont sync from the MacBook to the iPad.  However, if I create a folder on my MacBook in the browser, it shows up on the iPad immediately.
Any ideas?  I'm using PS Touch version 1.3
Thanks so much!

  • IPad syncing issue

I am having issues with my iPad syncing.
    1. It's an iPad gen 2. OS is up to date, running properly and it connects to my computer and iTunes.
    2. I am on Windows 8 and my iTunes is up to date.
I have a new computer and thought that I had sync'd it before but I may not have. I am not sure if it is a windows 8 issue or not. And if it is, how to resolve.
When I connect and try to sync it recognizes the iPad and goes through the steps but when it comes to the actual syncing doesn't. It just stops. I have transfered purchased songs from the iPad to iTunes and these show in my library, but doesn't seem to want to sync the other way from iTunes to the iPad.
Not sure what else to do? I have read most of the links others have provided but doesn't answer the issue I am having.
    Help?
    Thanks!

  • More Aperture/iPad syncing issues

Each time I create a new project or album in Aperture, I have trouble getting the images to the iPad when I sync. I sometimes need to sync several times until the images are recognized and imported to iPad. I do have the albums designated manually, rather than all, which means I have to sync and then sync again after I check the checkbox for the new album. I understand that, but sometimes I have to go back into Aperture to make sure the previews are updated. If I choose to update the previews for a project, Aperture will usually tell me that they're already up to date, but often they will not show up on the iPad, even after I check the appropriate box for the album in iTunes. Sometimes I get good results if I delete the previews and regenerate them in Aperture.
The second problem is the sort order. Even if I have "sort by filename" selected in Aperture, they do not show up in this order on the iPad--despite what the support article says about this. They appear to only show up in Date order. I've tried repeatedly resetting the sort order, but it does not change on the iPad. Sometimes I have to delete the album from the iPad, (uncheck the album in iTunes and sync again), then recheck it and sync yet another time. This does not always work, however.
It is very frustrating. The interface between Aperture and the iPad is very wonky. I often have to sync repeatedly, just to get the photos on the iPad and even then they're usually in the wrong order.
Aperture appears to have two types of previews: "previews" and "sharing previews," but "sharing previews" don't seem to appear in the documentation. I've noticed that, even when Aperture says the previews are up to date, when I exit the program, it will sometimes (but, maddeningly, not always), give the message, "updating sharing previews" before quitting. I cannot figure out how to force this, however. Sometimes opening and closing Aperture several times will cause it to do this, but I can't be sure.
iTunes seems to have its own process in which it "optimizes" images for importing to the iPad. Like Aperture's mysterious "sharing previews," "optimizing" does not show up in the iTunes documentation or help files.
This process either needs to be improved, or at least documented so users can understand how to avoid these problems.

    1. Some people have reported slow syncing with anything but the iPad's own USB cable (e.g. using a US cable from an iPhone/iPod). Try different cables
    2. More work - disable iTunes syncing completely, then re-enable a bit at a time, e.g. one movie at a time, one playlist at a time, one photo album at a time. There are periodic reports of syncing issues caused by a bit of media that's been corrupted, and this (tedious) approach allows you to identify where the problem might be.
    3. If that fails, do a clean restore back to factory settings, then progressively re-enable syncing as above.
    Hope this helps

  • IPad syncing issues

Have two issues when syncing my iPad:
    1) iTunes thinks my iPhone and iPad are one and the same device, so when I sync my iPad, iTunes adds the new apps that I have on my iPhone.
    2) When I sync my iPad my iTunes U programs are erased. This happens whether or not I download them through the iPad or add them via iTunes. Other videos (movies, t.v. shows or podcasts) are not removed.
By the way, I have the "Manually manage music and videos" checked for both my iPhone and iPad.

Does the iPad sync with iTunes? With my iPhone – if I purchase a song or video on my phone – it syncs with iTunes and copies my iPhone purchases to iTunes under "Purchased on iPhone." However, on my iPad nothing that was purchased on the iPad syncs to iTunes. Why? is that normal?
In addition, Apple needs to add the function to stream iTunes to the iPad like it does between Macs. I should be able to purchase a video on my Mac and stream it to my iPad and watch it.
Edit: Just to clarify. I can't add any music, podcasts or videos from my iTunes library without erasing the movies that I purchased on my iPad. Since I can't sync them I assume they will be permanently lost.

  • IPad syncing issues, please help.

I know this is a long read, I appreciate you taking the time to follow the details to help me figure out what is happening with my iPad.
As a preface, I update the firmware to all my Apple software (including iTunes) and my MacBook OS (Snow Leopard) and my iDevices the day the updates come out, so all these issues occured with the current firmware.
A few weeks ago, I was syncing my iPad earlier to my MacBook via iTunes. The backing up step was going on for about 10 minutes and it only got 1/20 across the status / progress bar. I "X'd" out of that and just synced the rest of it without the backing up step.
Then I disconnected the device and reattached it. I went back and am re-syncing. The backing up step has been going for almost an hour and its only 1/5th across the progress bar. It is moving, but noticeably. If I put my mouse pointer icon on the end of the progress made so far, then come back and look at it 10 minutes later, it has made progress. So, it is backing up, but so incredibly slowly.
Anyone experience this before? Any idea what could be the cause or fix to this?
I left it for several more hours. In fact, I started the syncing around 6 pm, and went to bed around 11. It was only 3/4 to 4/5 done backing up by that point.
I left it overnight, and in the very early morning (6 or 7 am), it had the familiar and comforting "Sync Complete" message.
Still have no idea why it took so fookin long, or it it will happen again next time.
I don't think the problem is the issue pertaining to Zinio disrupting backups, as discussed here: http://imgs.zinio.com/faq/ipad.htm#backup because I already followed those steps.
Now, two nights ago, I updated the firmware. It only took a few minutes. I didn't notice until last night, some of my old movies that I handbrake'd into iTunes were no longer on my iPad. I had to go back into the Time Machine to retrieve them.
I re-synced the iPad. It took about 10 minutes doing step 1, backing up. However, it froze at about 95% complete. I thought it was just going slow again (last time was hours!), so I went to bed. I woke up this morning and it was still frozen. I ejected the iPad from the sidebar window and stopped the sync by clicking the little black "X" in the message window.
I shut down iTunes and restarted my MacBook. I re-synced and it skipped the Step 1, Backing Up and went in to Step 2. It completed the sync moving over the movies, but no photos or music.
I re-synced immediately afterward (after disconnecting and reconnecting the device) and got a message about iTunes not being able to back up my iPad due to another syncing in process. It still synced and this time it moved about 256 photos. Not sure why- maybe I had "Sync recent 1000 events" or something checkmarked in the iTunes Sync window.
I re-synced again immediately afterward (also disconnecting and reconnecting first) and got the same message about iTunes not being able to back up my iPad. It still synced the rest of the sync process, but this time it moved about a dozen songs around. I don't know why I each time I sync it does different things and I get the error messages.
My iPad seems to be giving me issues with syncing, anyone have any idea what is going on or how to resolve it?
    Thanks!

  • IPad syncing issues getting on my nerves... suggestions?

When I first got my iPad 3G 64GB, I decided to sync as a new device and auto sync apps. Okay, but that put 22 pages of apps on my device and I was forced to spend at least a couple hours culling them down to just to fit the ones I want on the iPad... about 160.
Spent a good portion of the day yesterday filling up my iPad with comics and movies, and suddenly it gave a sync error. ***. So I try syncing and it recognizes it as a new iPad again, and deletes all my movies and tv shows. double ***.
Then I notice the syn apps tab is getting ready to put every single app back on my iPad once again, all 22 pages worth, so I hit the check box and stopped the sync apps function. It asks me if I want to delete all 160 apps, and of course I say no.
So then it goes to back up. A couple hours later it finishes, and this morning when I go to sync again, the syn apps box is empty, so now my apps won't sync properly. triple ***.
Is there anyway to fix this without putting everything back onto my iPad and deleting all the hours of work I spent on putting the comics there? How do I get the iPad to understand "yeah... well, I really DO want to sync apps, but don't add the unchecked apps in the list and put them on my device again... and don't delete the ones already there and replace with the whole setup all over again?"

Okay, but that put 22 pages of apps on my device and I was forced to spend at least a couple hours culling them down to just to fit the ones I want on the iPad... about 160.
Did you do this by deselecting the apps under the Apps tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync, which removes the deselected apps from your iPad, or did you remove the apps direct from your iPad?
After Sync Apps is selected under the Apps tab for your iPad sync preferences, it must remain selected. If deselected followed by a sync, all apps will be removed from your iPhone.
With Sync Apps selected, you can remove an app from your iPad by deselecting the app under the Apps tab for your iPad sync preferences followed by a sync. To re-install an app later, reselect the app under the Apps tab followed by a sync. After downloading a new app with iTunes on your computer, the app will be selected automatically under the Apps tab for your iPad sync preferences.

  • Itunes and ipad sync issues

I synced my ipad to itunes.  Now my ipad has a black screen with teh itunes logo and sync cord.  I tried turning it on and off but I still have the error message.

Sounds like it reset. Have you tried re-syncing? I find sometimes I have to turn off the computer and re-sync without doing anything else.

  • TS1286 despite computer authorized : iPad sync bugs

My iMac running OX Lion 10.7.4 is authorized to play iTunes purchases done with my Apple ID. All purchases play fine on the computer, and Apple TV's etc...
When I connect my iPad to sync with my computer, I get an error message : "Some of the items in the iTunes Library.. were not copied on the iPad because you are not authorized for them on this computer".
I have tried deauthorizing/re-authorizing. I have wiped my iPad clean and restarted it from scratch, so far nothing has worked to restore this syncronization. I am even able to download iTunes purchases on my iPad, but given I live in South Africa and pay internet usage, I don't want to download data twice, I want to download on my computer and then sync my iPad with the USB connection.
Has someone encountered that problem and found a fix please ?

Sooooooo who else in the house has an apple id?! Try to authorize the computer with as many apple ids as you can, you can have more then one apple id authorized on one computer. so if your kids girlfriend, boyfriend who ever is in the house hold has an apple id it would be wise to authorize the computer with all of them,

  • HT4972 is there a way to tell which computer an ipad syncs with?

I have tried to sync and update my ipad on my family's 3 different mac's, and i get a dialog box on each saying to sync with the computer you normally sync with.  i am pretty sure it is one of these three mac's.  Is there any way to tell which computer an ipad is syncing with?  Or how to tell which apps are backed up and will remain after the update?  thanks

    No.

  • Remove computer from iPad sync?

How do you remove a computer that no longer exists from the iPad sync list in settings?

The iPad is pretty smart, but not that smart.
You need to manually transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer along with all other data from your old computer to your new computer such as documents, photos, etc.
Follow the instructions included with this link for transferring your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer.

  • Original iPad Sync Issues and random artwork

My friend has been using an iPad (first generation) and he recently upgaded the software to iOS5.
Lately, he has been having issues with the software: he cannot sync music to and from his iPad and he is having issues with the synced videos and their artwork.
For example, he has a TV show called "Handy Manny" for his child to watch, but the artwork displayed for the show is irrelevant to the show itself.
Does anyone know what may be the problem and how to correct it?
    Thanks in advance.

The iPad syncs everything in your iTunes' library.

  • IPad syncing issue between old and new computer.

I 'm trying to sync my iPad to a new computer, but it says my iPad is already synced to another library.  My previous computer and data is no longer accessible.  I do NOT want to lose what I have on my iPad, its a real pain and its happened before: the message says I would have to ERASE! everything to sync it.  This really makes me hate iTunes.  Thoughts?  Help?

iPhones are not really designed to be synced, or even manually managed, with multiple computers. You should sync with a single library. Depending what you've done so far you may in fact have the same library on both computers, but if not see this tip on migrating your library.
Even when you have exactly the same iTunes library on two computers iTunes "knows" to sync the pictures from just one of them, though in my experience they have stayed on the device when syncing with the other machine. If you copy the pictures over to the new computer, then select the folder to sync photos from on the new computer they should all get added in.

  • HT4623 Iphone and ipad syncing issues

both my iphone and ipad stopped syncing with my computer (pc).  The ipad never charged from my pc anyway but the iphone did.  anyone else having this issue?

I fugured out that deleting from iPad does not delete from iPhone and whatever data is there is cloud will be retained for iPhone.

  • IPad Syncing issues - what's the deal??

So I decided to download the movie "Heat" on my iPad (first generation) and purchased the movie for about $20.  After the download was complete I synced my iPad with my iMac / iTunes library.  The movie shows in my iTunes library as a purchased movie so everything is great, right?  Well, I then took a look at my iPad and saw that the movie was no longer in the Video section.  I thought it was odd but thought it might be a synching issue (for all the money Apple makes you would think they would get these simple things right, but I digress).  So I plugged my iPad into my iMac and decided to re-sync my library then this message came up:
"Could not download "Heat" to your iPad.  Your Computer is not authorized to play this move.  Please do to .... and authorize this computer blah blah blah"
But my computer IS authorized and have authorized and de-authorized it several times just to be sure.  So I started reading posts on this board and they said that the iPad can't sync movies in the format "M4V".  ***??  Are you telling me that I can download an M4V movie on my iPad but once it leaves the iPad it will never come back and that I'm out of luck?  Some forums mentioned renaming the M4V file to MP4.  That worked and I was able to synch my movie but are you telling me that there is no solution for this issue?
Dear Apple: I'm starting to dislike your products.  Things that use to be so easy have now become cumbersome.  I hope that this is not a sign of the company getting "too big" and stops caring.

Contact Lacie since it's their product you are having issues with.
