Computer unable to connect to servers over certain ports through AEBS

Despite being a die hard windows user, I love my AEBS. Unfortunately, I have recently experienced an issue which has forced me back to my old LinkSys router.
With my computer which runs Windows Vista, when I try and connect to Age of Conan (a game which requires communication over port 7025) the computer is unable to establish a connection through the AEBS and the game hangs. However, the game also requires a connection on a variety of other ports (e.g. 7000) and these ports connect just fine.
- What is most frustrating is that this /used/ to work - I played the game regularly before going on hiatus for a couple of months and just recently came back.
- When I connected previously, it was before the firmware upgrade to 7.3.2. This is just anecdotal, as I'm not sure this is the cause. I've tried backing out to 7.3.1 and 7.2.1 but neither worked.
- I've tried creating a port mapping rule which will route all 7025 traffic to my static IP, no dice
- My wife's computer which runs XP64 is able to connect just fine
The only thing I can think of is a possible relation to IPv6 which Vista supports but XP doesn't. IPv6 has always been set to link-local only. Is there any way to completely disable it?

Yes you are right once the router is configured then you can use the desktop wirelessly , if you have the wireless adapter on the desktop .. However before that you need to connect your computer with the router with a ethernet cable and configure the router first and that can be done by using the CD or manully as well.

If you have a spare cable, try using that. But the fact that this doesn't happen on your other computer (I assume using the same old cable) leads me to conclude that something else is at work. Maybe even the "bad" computer.

Message 'computer unable to connect to printer' appears during installation of laserjet p1102w.

During installation of wireless software for Laserjet P1102W on computer with XP Professional (pk2), the message ' printer was able to connect to wireless network. However, this computer is unable to connect to the printer.' I verified the computer and printer both connected to same named network with same WEP , open, key, etc. credentials. I have a linksys connected to the computer and cable modem. When I connect using the USB connect wire to the computer directly, I can print. Both software, wired and wireless, were loaded. My HP Inkjet printer is wired to the linksys and works for multiple wireless network computers. Do I need to have a different printer? I thought i could still have a truly wireless printer!?! I called HP support. The tech was very knowledgeable and helpful. The HP Smart Install program (in printer and on CD) that came in the box was an old version. I needed to reset the printer back to factory default and download the new firmware from HP.com internet site.
The older software had an incorrect router address (network). You can see the router (IP) address when you do the Self Test (holding down the 'on' button) under network Information. The IPv4 address should be the same as your router. Now my printer and computer are looking at the same network.
Works great! Love this LaserJet. Faster than my last HP LaserJet 4L.

Unable to connect to VM over RDP

Hello,
I have a VM that I am suddenly unable to connect to over RDP.
The machine is connected to a virtual network that is connected to my local network over a site to site VPN.
I was previously able to RDP using both the public endpoint and over the VPN tunnel. I can still connect to other machines over the VPN so I know the VPN is working. I also cannot ping the machine from another Azure VM on the same subnet in my Azure virtual
network
I have tried the various troubleshooting steps around restarting and resizing the VM. None of which has helped. I have not yet tried deleting the VM and trying to reattach the disks.
I would normally shrug it off and rebuild the machine but it is a domain controller and I'd rather not have to go through the process of removing a failed domain controller.
As a further troubleshooting step I downloaded the VHDs to try and run them locally in Hyper-V to see what is going on in the console window there. The machine starts and blue screens with error 0xc00002e2 but I am not sure if this related or just an issue
with migrating from Azure to Hyper-V

Just to double check: Have your assigned a static IP? That is a NoNo!
If not then try the following
1. Download the RDP file again and try connecting again
2. Shut down and restart the machine via the management portal
3. Makesure the BuiltIn firewall in Windows 2012 is not blocking your RDP connection
4. The RDP endpoint is created by default and so should be correct, however double check. If you have created a custom RDP connection, you have to also use the public port within the servername

TS4505 Unable to connect to internet over Guest Network (Airport)

I have changed the guest network's DNS server IPv4 addresses to 75.75.75.75 and 75.75.76.76 and rebooted base station. These are the values for Comcast.
Still not able to connect to internet over this guest network.
Do I need to do anything else? Help!

My guest network is on the Apple Airport TIme Capsule (v7.7.2). Router mode for this time capsule shows "Off (Bridge Mode)" but grayed out. No edits possible as shown below:
Northbound of the Time Capsule is my Apple Airport Extreme (v7.6.4) that is in turn connected to a Comcast uBee DDM3513 Docsis 3.0 Cable Modem. I believe it is this one.

After Firefox updated last night, I am no longer able to use it. "Unable to connect" I have added it back through the firewall, nothing works. Help!

(If works in Windows Safe mode then probably you have problem with other software, like security software or maybe a system driver, that is running on your computer).

ODSM unable to connect to OVD SSL admin port

I have installed ODSM 11g on middleware server. OVD 11 is installed on a separate server.
OVD is up and running
When i try to connect to OVD SSL admin port using ODSM i am getting ODSM-00007 error.
ODSM-00007: SSL connection failed.
Cause: You may not have provided valid SSL port number and host. Or ODSM may not be able to read its trust store or may not have access to Credential Store Framework. Refer exception to find actual cause.

Cannot connect 2 macbooks to the internet through AEBS?

Hi,
I have 2 Macbooks, Airport Extreme Base Station & a 320T D-link router. My ISP is plusnet who uses PPPoA settings on the d-link router. So i have set the router up and when i connect it to the Macbooks directly via ethernet i can access the internet. But once i connect the d-link router to my AEBS i cannot connect to the internet? Both Macbooks can see the base station but they cannot access the basestation. If i put the base station in bridge mode the light will go green and one can connect to the internet but obviously i want both to connect! I am unable to put the d-link router in bridge mode as my ISP does not support this as the router will only work on the PPPoA settings to retrieve the IP's etc from Plusnet. I have spent countless hours on the phone to apple and changing settings but to no success. I have spent more money to buy the d-link router as i had a netgear D111MP router previously but i read that it was a poor product to go with the AEBS. So the issue does not lie with the router?
If anyone can help i would appreciate it so much as this has become so frustrating!

Thanks Duanne, problem is that i have bought the netgear DM111P and the d-link 320T and found out that they cannot work for some reason. So i have spent £70 on both modems/routers plus the £119 on the AEBS. It's just a bit annoying when i have spent a lot of time and money on something which i was hoping would be as simple to set up as all the other apple products.
By the way i'm not having a go even though it sounds like it! The main thing on my mind is to get my AEBS working. Would it be possible to advise me on a router that will work well with my AEBS to solve this issue i am having? Also one that can use the PPPoA settings from my ISP? This would be greatly appreciated as i don't want to go out and buy another router and find out it doesn't work.
Also if i get a router that can do this what would be the setup of my AEBS?

Unable to connect to servers

Hi Everyone. Along with myself, a couple other people in my office are having the same issue as I. Below, I will go through all the steps I've taken thus far (it's been a long time) and the results if I have them/can remember them.
Issue: When connecting to any server (smb, vnc, doesn't matter) the connection never initializes. It stays at the "Connecting to '...'" window. I can leave it up all day and it won't complete nor will it error out.
Current workaround: Create a new profile on the computer, and either User Switch or Migrate to that user.
Troubleshooting steps taken:
1. Ping. I can ping all and any servers fine. It returns with reasonable times, and resolves the host fine. If it's a webserver, I can go to it from any browser no problem.
2. Log. I can't find anything relating to when I first attempt connection, or anything during the duration of the attempt. Checked all logs that seemed relevant, and got nothing.
3. Netstat. Routing tables match the new user account fine.
4. sysctl.conf. Added the following:
net.inet.tcp.delayed_ack=0
net.inet.tcp.mssdflt=1440
net.inet.tcp.sendspace=250000
net.inet.tcp.recvspace=250000
Rebooted, still nothing.
5. Reset PRAM. Nope.
6. Reset SMC. Nope.
7. Connect to server on new account, then try to access it on the broken one. Drops connection to the server and dissapears from finder.
8. Delete Finder.plist. Didn't help.
9. Disable local firewall. Nope.
10. Connect using static IP and DNS name. Nope.
I've probably tried more along the way, but have forgotten. Any help with this and my coworkers and I will be eternally grateful!

This is the solution to the problem. I guess the Global Preferences file can get corrupted from time to time, and simply removing it solves the problem.
rm ~/Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist

Mac connected to working internet but unable to connect to servers 90% of time

Okay so macbook pro, bought in December.
This problem has been sporadic, happening every month or so, with the issue being that while it is connected to a working internet connection, I can't open a web browser and connect to a website. "The connection was reset" or "Cannot connect to server" are the only error messages. App store and itunes won't connect either. If it connects, most text loads but no images.
(The reason I know the internet is working is because I am currently on a different mac with the same internet connection and it is working fine.)
Repaired permissions, emptied cache and cleared history but it didn't do anything.
Computer was working fine until an hour ago when it suddenly stopped connecting and now refuses to connect.
Did not download anything or open any programs besides firefox and photoshop which were already open.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Blackberry Messenger, E-mail not working and I am unable to connect to servers, help please?

I recently got a blackberry curve 8520 contracted with virgin media, with my package I get free BBM/ email services free. However both services haven't worked in 4 weeks. I cannot connect to any servers and error code (65), whatever it means, pops up every time I try to log into Windows Live Messenger. I have re-sent registration messages, as instructed by the troubleshooting manual, which have been successful each time. Does someone, anyone know how to fix this?

I have tried, it is very hard to actually talk to a member of their team. As I said it worked before and I had no issues. The problem occurred over night and my phone says that I am connected to my mobile network but not blackberry internet service. I have successfully registered plenty of times. I have tried updating my phone ect but nothing has worked so far.

Lumia 620 - Unable to connect to Facebook over Wif...

Lumia 620 is able to connect to my router (Netgear 3700) and able to access windows store, configure and download e-mails, browse web sites.

Unable to connect multiple chats over AOL server

Hello--
I use iChat within my company to videoconference at 3-4 sites, including sharing Keynote presentations. It has heretofore worked flawlessly (as recently as a month ago), with each site having its own AIM name.
Now I am not able to connect with multiple sites at the same time. I initiate a videochat with one site, then when it's time to invite the second site, I get the error message (approximately) "This video chat is being hosted by AIM relay server."
No settings have been changed on any of the computers, either host or inviteees, the "Allow AOL's servers to relay video chats" box is checked on all computers in the Preferences>Security tab.
Can anyone lead me in the right direction? Has AOL changed the way they relay multiple site video chats?

I am not aware that AIM have changed anything.
The Allow AIM to Relay is a recent addition to iChat.
I must admit I would have not used it for Multi-way Video Chats as I would not be sure the AIM servers would be able to keep up.
One issues is that AIM (on a PC) does not do 3 and 4 way chats so I don't know that the servers would allow it.
The second is the amount of Data being sent in a multi-way chat which may exceed what the servers can do.
It may be that AIM have put a cap on this as more people take it up.
I have also not come to a conclusion about what the Setting achieves.
It would seem likely that it provides a method of getting around either port Issues or NAT issues but I have yet to find any clear evidence.
I presume that you have found that using this setting does in fact make it work for you ? (Or Did)
