Computer wont connect to internet

I have a powerbook g4 titanium with mac os 10.4.11. Using Airport to connect to internet.
The computer won't connect to any webpages or software update. Other network access seems fine. I did a archive and install and it seem to work until I updated quicktime or to 10.4.11. Not sure if either was the issue.
I have booted into safe mode verified the disk and repaired permissions. I have also erased and created new locations.
On every webpage I get: "Request Timeout the server timed out while waiting for the browser's request".

Well, one more thought...
Go to System Preferences
Click Network
Highlight AirPort and click Configure...
Choose “By default, join: Preferred networks”
Select your access point and Remove your access point with the minus button.
Launch your keychain access in Utilities and delete your access point keychain entry.
Reboot
Go back to the “By default, join:” page and click the plus this time to add your access point. Enter the correct password, save, reboot.

Also why is my go pro footage blocky

    Hi,
Which version of Premiere Pro won't open? Do you see the splash screen? Which OS is installed on your computer? Have you tried to turn off your firewall? Sometimes that can cause this issue.
    Thanks,

  • Secure link to itunes store failed computer not connected to internet tried ununininstalling everything to do with itunes no joy also error code coming up E0000225 anybody out there got any ideas

Secure link to itunes store failed, (computer not connected to internet tried uninstalling everything to do with itunes,no joy also errror code E0000225 appearing. Have turned off windows firewall and also my Bullguarg security settings. Can anybody out there please help me thanks.

    Hi,
You could be right that the response to clicking on help is a symptom of an entirely separate issue, but nevertheless the secure link to itunes is definitely failed, and I am unable to log into Itunes on either PC.
I also noticed that even if I click on the link to create a whole new Apple ID, I cannot do that either, presumably because the secure link is not working.
After I noticed that there were weird things happening this morning, I did change my Apple ID password in the hope that this might resolve it, but it seemed to make it worse.  Now, all of my apple devices keep constantly prompting me for the apple ID password, and randomly either accepting it, or telling me it is wrong.  I know the password is correct because I can log onto the apple Manage My Apple ID screens in a web browser with it.
I was starting to think that this is an ISP issue (BT Broadband), but I have not seen anyone else posting with the same issue.  Does Apple use a different security protocol to everyone else?  I'm asking because all other secure services seem to be working fine, but anything related to apple that requires a secure connection or authentication is having issues.
I have also seen reference to making sure that Itunes is listed as an allowed program in Windows Firewall.  I cannot seem to do this because it says that my Windows firewall is being managed by McCafee.  I have checked the settings in McCafee, and it appears to me that Itunes, Bonjour, and many other apple programs have been granted "Full" access.  As said before in any case I have tried temporarily disabling the firewall and even this did not solve the problem.

iTunes is a program on your computer, it is not "the Internet".  The fact that the program runs has no bearing on Internet connectivity.
Maybe if a little more information was supplied, like version of the Operating system on the computer and version of iTunes, then a little more assistance could be provided.

  • Safari reports "computer not connected to internet" (but it is)

Safari reports "computer not connected to internet" (but it is). Firefox works normally. What kind of issue is this with Safari? Corrective action?

Hello. Safari 5 has a bug that causes you're router/modem to crash cutting internet access for many on it's users. This can last for several seconds in my case. Their are many threads here on the case and you can Google, "safari can't connect to server" and look for the most recent cases. The only work around that has worked for some has been open dns. Apple will have a fix soon.

  • Iphone wont connect to iTunes or computer wont connect to iPhone?

Either my Iphone wont connect to itunes or my computer wont connect to iphone! My computer makes an unusual noise as I plug in a apple device, This wont let itunes pick up my devices. I have gone though all the proceedures online in which have failed. But when uninstalling Itunes, Apple mobile device was deleted in which then windows recognised my iphone and it started to charge which it did not do when I previously plugged it in. Just wondering if anyone has had similar problems and knows how to help?? Thanks

    I'd look at these options
    first,
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
    It that fails,
DFU mode[1] is a state that you can put your iPhone into where it can interface with iTunes but does not load the iPhone operating system or boot loader (this is what really differs DFU mode from recovery mode). DFU stands for Device Firmware Update.
While connected to PC, running iTunes, hold down Home and Power( button on upper right edge) button for exactly 8 seconds.
Release the power button.  Restore message will appear in iTunes.  The device will be recognized by iTunes, but no display will appear on the device itself.  The lack of a display on the device will verify that it is in dfu mode.

  • New Macbook Pro Wont Connect to Internet

I just got a Macbook Pro today and it wont connect to the my wireless connection. The only thing I can think of is when I was in the start up it ask what I connected to the internet with and because I was not within my own network I press "This computer does not connect to the internet" option. How do I change this?

I'm using a Linksys WRT54G and ran into these exact symptoms today. After downloading all available updates, dwiddling with a bunch of stuff I didn't really understand (but that's never stopped a hacker like me), getting frustrated in trying to figure out how to either make a reservation with a local Mac Store Genius or talk to a real person at Apple Support I tried unplugging my wireless router and resetting it. My computer came up and is now working fine... go figure.
I've got to admit that I was ready to panic after looking at the discussion board. I'm an old PC person and now consider myself a "convert" to Macs. Glad it didn't let me down.

  • WRT300N wont connect to internet

hay guys i recently received a WRT300N v1. and for some reason it wont connect to the internet on my network. i know my network is fine if i use another router it works. but if i replace my working dlink router with this WRT300N router and connect all the computers to it (regardless weather its lan or wan)the computers don't receive a connection to the internet. anybody got any ideas why this is? by the way the router was reset to factory settings so there should be no settings that are conflicting.

1)connect the computer to the router's port # 1 and the modem to the router's internet port
2)access the router using http://192.168.1.1 . the default ip add is admin
3)on the ui , click on the "mac add clone" subtab , enable it and click clone
4)save the settings and do a power cycle
5)go to the "status" tab and check the internet ip add
6)if there is a valid one , try going online ...

Everytime I open iTunes it loads, tries to connect to internet then freezes. I've tried (many times) using Troubleshooter and it says that theres no internet connection but there is, every other site I go to loads perfectly and outlook opens and collects email so its not the wi-wi connection - HELP!!!!

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:
