Computer wont properly connect to ipod

When i plugged in my ipod to my computer with itunes already running and dragged the new songs, which i had just added to my itunes, to the ipod icon in the left colomn, it said that the songs had been added to the ipod when i clicked on the ipod icon. But when i clicked eject ipod and unplugged my ipod, and looked for the new songs on the ipod they werent there. I calmly plugged my ipod in again and added the songs one more time. The screen said the songs had been added and i noticed them on the list of songs on my ipod but as soon as i unplug my ipod the songs werent there. I went through this repeatedly. I reinstalled the new 6.0 itunes and now itunes doesnt even open up. It just says there is an error in the program and it cant open. I attached my ipod to a friends computer and tried to add new songs but had the same problem and the songs wouldnt add. I tried to reset the ipod but that only whipped out all the music, but it still lists all the songs but when i click on them to play them, none of them work. I am extremely dissappointed in the apple products and probably will never consider or recommend the ipod or itunes to anyone unless this is cleared up. Please help me if you have any information or if you are expeiriencing this yourself.

Did you try these?

  • ITunes and Computer freeze when connecting 160GB iPod classic

    160 GB iPod Classic
    Model: MC293LL
    Version: 2.0.4 PC
    iTunes version: 11.1.3
    computers: 1 Win8 desktop,
1 Win7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1 Notebook
since yesterday I started having trouble with my iPod. When connecting it to the Notebook it showed a message: "There's a problem with this device. Scan the drive now and fix it". After clicking on scan and trying to fix the problem the notebook froze, so I connected it to me desktop, and it worked, it said that the problem was fixed. But when trying to open the iTunes it froze and after disconnecting it I realised the music was gone. So I connected it again, the same "There's a problem with this device. Scan the drive now and fix it"-message showed, but at the end the computer said it didn't detect any problem with the drive, so I opened iTunes and restored the iPod, and it worked but after that iTunes froze, then Windows Explorer and then the whole computer. Tried to connect the iPod to the Win7 Notebook and the same thing happened, first iTunes froze and then the computer froze, they both didn't show the blue screen.
What can I do? The iPod was already restored to the factory settings.

i had the same problem. all i did was download the newest version of itunes, which i had been putting off for months because it takes so long. after i did this itunes worked fine for me
    hope this helps

  • 9300 wont properly connect to computer

    Curve 9300 version 6.0 bundle 2342
Hello, recently my phone has not been connecting to my laptop. It connects to other computers using the same cable but it just doesnt seem to work on any usb port on my laptop.
When i do plug my phone to my laptop, the laptop simply acts as a outlet and carges it.
There are no prompts whatsoever on my phone, laptop or on desktop manager when its plugged in.
I have rebooted my phone, restarted my laptop, gave "microsoft fix-it" a shot at fixing tis problem, but nothing works.
This has been going on for about a month, If anyone has any ideas or knows how to repair this problem that would be great.
    Thanks

So is there absolutely no solution to this?

  • I just installed the latest update on my iPhone 4 and now it's nothing but a white screen and my computer wont even connect it to my itunes when I plug it in the USB port. What happened?

I installed the latest update to my phone. Half way through it asked to connect to itunes. After updateing it had some type of error and wanted me to restore the phone. After restoring, another error box popped up and said that it could not be restored. Now it won't connect to itunes or my computer at all and is nothing but the black start up screen with the apple logo, or it's just a white screen. What happened?

DFU mode? How do I do that? So far the only thing I can do is hold down both buttons to power it on and nothing is on the screen and it wont reconize on my computer....

  • Computer wont detect hardware when ipod is plugged in

I just got a brand new Ipod nano for my birthday and it has never worked on my computer, I have installed the software and uninstalled it many times, I've done all of the "5 r's" , and no matter what I do, my computer won't detect the hardware. Although, it does charge when I plug it in. My brother has an Ipod mini and my computer detects his. Also, when I plug my Ipod Nano into his computer it is detected.
When I am asked to restart my computer after I install the software, a blue screen comes up that says:
    Stop: C000021a
    Fatal System Error
The Windows Logon Proces terminated unexpectedly with a status of
    0xc0000005
The system has been shut down.
I've been working on this for a few days and I still can't seem to get it to work. So frusterated!

  • Computer wont recognize my new ipod

my last 30gb got stolen so today i went out and bought a new 80gb. i install the new itunes 7 and it doesnt recognize my ipod, the new hardware thing pops up and asks me to enter a cd but the new ipods software is in itunes 7 i guess? i have no clue what to do. please help...thank you

yes ok then.... downlaod a prgram called ipod wizard from www.ipodwizard.net
the only thing this program will do is tell you wether your ipod is actaully on your computer.
If it shows up there... try uninstalling iTunes 7 and then put an older version (6) back on. Then try to sync ure ipod.

  • Computer wont stay connected to wifi, other Macs connect fine

Just got AT&T cable and internet service. The wifi works great on everything but my iMac, my partners iMac flys. Mine will sometimes and then for no reason it will kick me out and start looking for networks.

What Version of the OS are you running? I know they had issues with 10.7.4 and WiFi Connectivity.
Check for software updates by clicking on  and then Software Update.

  • Ipod - 60GB - My computer wont recognise my ipod anymore :o(

I am seriously running out of ideas and patience.
My computer wont recognise that my ipod is connected, yet the ipod just registers that it's re-charging.
I have the latest ipod update and the latest itunes.
so, now i can't update/install anymore songs on my ipod.
It can't be the USB cable, 'cos it recharges.
It can't be Itunes or ipod updater 'cos they are up to date.
been thru all the advice on this topic on this website, including using msconfig to see if there are any conflicts.
If there is anyone with the solution, i would be most grateful to hear it :o)
    Thanks in advance.

disk management doesn't recognise the ipod either!
gaah. okay, let's first try putting the ipod into disk mode to see if it will show up in there then:
    Putting iPod into Disk Mode
... and while you're in that general Computer Management area, let's also check up on another weird possibility. click on "Device Manager". are there devices shown in the pane to the right? or is that pane blank?

  • Ive been to the ipod store multiple times and they seem to fix my problem every time while im there but once i get home its still there... the problem is that i connect my ipod to the computer and it shows up as a digital camera but wont show on the compu

so my ipod is not operating properly and im tryin to fix it and ive been to the genius bar twice now and when im there it seems like theyve gotten it to work but once i return home my ipod is unable to connect to itunes, the computer picks it up as a digital camera and i can not connect it to itunes... now honestly all i want to do is put some music on there, but the computer wont allow me to do that at all so any ideas?

    - Have you tried the troubleshooting here:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    - You can try disabling the camer notification
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1500
    - Do you have any camera, scanner or similar software installed?  That may prevent iTunes from seeing the iPod.

  • HT201263 so my friend disabled my ipod to the point that the ipod said "iPod disabled connect to iTunes" but my computer wont connect to iTunes beacuse iTunes is saying that it's not connected to the internet when my interenet is working just fine, so wha

So my friend had my iPod and he disabled it to where it said "iPod disabled connect to iTunes" but my computer will not connect to iTunes and I really need to know if there's a way I can restore my iPod?

Restore, if iTunes will let you.  Everything except the password will be restored.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  Be forewarned that it takes a long time.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.
