Comunicating between apple devices

i have 6 devices between 3 people and want to talk to them when not in the same location how do i do that

Your question is rather vague. Both iPhones and iPads have lots of ways with commuicating with other devices, starting with the fact that iPhones are, well, phones.
Here are some of the ways you can communicate between iOS devices when yo are not at the same location:
Phone calls (iPhones), SMS (iPhones), FaceTime, iMessage, third party messaging or VoIP apps such as Skype (iPhone, iPads, Mac computers).
Perhaps if you explain in more detail what you're trying to do and what the problem is, you'll get a more specific answer.
Best of luck.

This Apple support document provides good general information on configuring different types of neworks using multiple AirPort routers.

In particular, you would want to focus on the information regarding a "Roaming Network"

  • Deactivate Sync between apple devices

    Hello,
I have several Apple devices and I'd like to deactivate the automatic sync between them, eg: apps downloaded to my iPad will also appear in my iPhone; internet pages visited and opened in my iPad and MacBook Pro will also be available in my iPhone. Or, the iMessages received in my iPhone will be available in my iPad.
    How can I deactivate this?
    Thank you,
    NeytiriLuna

On each device go to Settings/iTunes & App Store and turn off automatic downloads.
You can handle similar settings in Settings for each of the other apps.

  • Sync folders between Apple devices

Hello, I am a new user of Mac.
How can I sync folders between my apple devices such as MBP, iMac and Ipad. (time capsule available)
I would like to sync the folders on my home wifi. (not on cloud)
Whenever i use the MBP out of my home for work and amend a document. When I am home I would like files /folder to sync automatically between my MBP and iMac.
How should I go about it. Thank you in advance.

Microsoft publish the settings needed for Hotmail Imap, they work, use them.
    They are:
    For incoming connections:
    Server address: "imap-mail.outlook.com"
    Server port: "993"
    Encryption type: "SSL"
    For outgoing connections:
    Server address: "smtp-mail.outlook.com"
    Server port: "587"
Encryption type: "TLS" ("SSL" can be used if TLS is not an option)

  • Account Lockout issue between Apple devices and Exchange 2003

I have been having an ongoing issue for a couple of months with a few different users Apple devices locking out their accounts in AD when they try to authenticate to ActiveSync.  This doesn't happen every time they authenticate, it seems to be random,
while the rest of the time they have access to their email.  It might occasionally happen with an Android, but not on a repetitive basis like this.
Primarily this has been four different iPads, running different versions of iOS, and an iPhone running the latest release of iOS 7.  Other iPhones and iPads function without having the problem, including iPhones on iOS 7.
The user accounts in question are set to never have their passwords expire, but again, they aren't the only users that are set like this, and those other users, even with Apple devices are not having the same problem.
I used NetWrix to trace out the source machine, which is my Exchange 2003 server and times, and I've checked the W3SVC1 log file, and come up with the following as an example with identification details masked:
    <internal IP>, <Domain\Username>, 4/30/2014, 8:10:04, W3SVC1, <ServerName>, <internal IP>, 15, 329, 3367926, 200, 0, GET, /exchange-oma/<[email protected]>/NON_IPM_SUBTREE/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync/iPad/ApplV50462*****/eb53cd5d5b9fcf40****************-20ef44,
As I was typing this, the owner of the iPad from the log file above came by my desk, so I asked a couple more questions.  He's never had another iPad, it's a gen 1, and he's never updated the iOS on it.  I know one of the other iPads in question
has the most up to date iOS, and the other one is brand new, replacing one that was broken, but the owner of that one had the same issue on a 3 year old iOS.
There is nothing special about the user accounts, no special privileges or restrictions.
Has anyone encountered this before?  Exchange 2003, Server 2003 in a 2008 domain.  Promotion to the 2008 domain was 2 years ago.

    Hi Brian,
I am so sorry for the delay.
Do you have any progress by now?
Since there are lots of devices which use user accounts to log on, failed logon attempts on these devices could be the cause for account lockout.
If this issue persists, I suggest you refer to these troubleshooting articles below:

  • Is face time between Apple devices free if one person is in France and the other person is in the U.S.?

IS face time free between two persons if one person is in France and the other person is in the U.S.?  One is on an iPad Mimi and the other an apple laptop or iPad.

It uses the internet. If either person has wi-fi it can be done on that, otherwise it will use cellular data count against one or both persons cellular data plan.

  • Just wondering how i share files between apple devices

I just got a new Macbook Air. I want to be able to access my files from my Macbook Air that are on my iMac. Just need some help figuring out how to do that.
    Thank you

Niel and sberman offer two good suggestions. Another possibility is 'the cloud'. There are lots of services such as DropBox and iCloud that let you keep files in sync using the Internet. There are security issues to consider - how safe do you feel letting Apple or another company keep your data on their servers? But there's no denying the convenience. I have tons of files that I don't worry about and let DropBox sync them. Other files I want extra security over and those I encrypt on my computer so they are synced encrypted. And for other files (like financial records) I use AirDrop so there's no middleman.

  • How do you get your email to sync between apple devices?  For example,  I delete an email on iphone and it is still on ipad.  I'd rather not have to delete things twice.  Any suggestions?

    need suggestions

Your email provider must offer IMAP accounts. Then in your email client select the type of account as IMAP rather than POP. Then in your email client enter your email provider's configuration for their outgoing IMAP server and their incomming IMAP server. Just like you did for their POP server.

Can anyone tell me how I can move my saved data, like my merchants and coins, etc., from my iPod Touch to an iPad?  Is this possible or not?

If you restore from a backup of your iPod via iTunes all the apps have to be in your iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the iPad backup that iTunes makes

unless i'm missing something, i think you got mixed up, this is easy google for walk throughs
i'm assuming this is the new 3tb tc AC or 'tower' shape, if so, its wifi will run circles around your at&t device
unplug the at&t box for a minute and plug it back in
factory reset your tc - unplug it, hold down reset and keep holding while you plug it back in - only release reset when amber light flashes in 10-20s
connect the tc to your at&t box via eth in the wan port, wait 1 minute, open airport utility look in 'other wifi devices' to setup the tc
create a new wifi network (give it a different name than your at&t one) and put the tc in bridge mode (it may do this automatically for you, but you should double check) under the 'network' tab
login to your at&t router and disable wifi on it
add new clients to the new wifi network, and point your Macs to the time machine for backups

  • HT5538 I have multiple Apple devices and my family all share one apple ID.  I know it is easy to obtain additional IDs but all devices are registered with the same Apple ID.  My questions is how do I set up my devices so that we can Facetime between devic

I have multiple Apple devices using the same Apple ID for all devices.  I work in the Middle East and my wife is in Russia.  I would like to Facetime between my different devices.  Is this possible with all devices registered with the same Apple ID.  It is just easier for find my iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air and for purchasing Apps.  Is this possible and how do I set it up.

Create Apple IDs for everyone individually and use that in Settings > Facetime, Settings > Messages, Settings > Game Center but keep the Apple ID used for app and content purchases in Settings > iTunes and App Stores
