Concatenate text to a number
I have cells that are formatted as numbers to 2 decimal places which hold the result of a simple formula (e.g. =C4/D4) that divides a distance by a duration (to calculate km/h). An example value in the result cell is 28.02.
If I change the formula (e.g. =C4/D4 & " km/h") to concatenate some text to the result of the formula then Numbers ignores the decimal place setting for the cell and displays the maximum number of decimal places. For example, I was expecting to see "28.02 km/h" but instead Numbers displays "28.0155642023346 km/h".
Following the same process in Excel works as I'd expect and the result of the formula is displayed as "28.02 km/h".
Any ideas? Is this is a bug in Numbers?
It's really simple.
When you concatenate a number to a piece of text, the number format no longer apply.
Use a formula really asking for what you want, like
=ROUND(C4/D4,2)&" km/h"
and you will get what you want !
What you got is an example of the perfect result to a wrongly defined problem.

Concatenation is only possible between text and variables %VAR% or $VAR$.
Like ENTITY=I_%SOMEVAR%
But in your case instead of concatenate you have to use other property like TARGETENTITY having valid ENTITY members:
ENTITY=INTERCO.TARGETENTITY

I dont have my old number anymore and iMessage is still registered on the old number(it's in light grey fonts)I cannot choose or delete this number. Also I cannot recieve text on this number because it doesnt exist anymore.
You should contact Apple support and ask them to deregister iMessage for the old number.

Concatenate text to field value in report header
I'm trying to concatenate text to field value in a textbox in the report header but am getting an error. Here's how I'm doing it:
=First(Fields!Pp_Name.Value, "dsProspect") & "Prospect"
and the error says the report definition is invalid. An unexpected error occurred while compiling expressions. Native compiler return value '[BC30179] class 'Textbox.....
any idea why this wont compile?

Generally, the error message always occurred when there are two distinct text boxes with the same name that only differ in their name by casing in report. When Reporting Services generates VB code for these textboxes during report publishing, the compilation
fails because VB class names are considered case-insensitive.
So this issue is not related to the expression (the format is correct) you post, it related to the Textbox name that the error message said. In order to fix this issue, please rename one of the textboxes.

If you update correctly yuyr apps wiull not be deleted and you can restore from backup. Just make sure that all theapps are in the library of he computer and that there is a backup of your iPod. Thenupdate and if necessary, restor from backup. Also see:

Is it possible to concatenate 2 text at transfer staruture level via routine and to keep them in one infoobject. ?
ANd can we pull this concatenate text in Bex analyzer and would it show the same long text in report ?
RegardsYou can do that but if you are looking at storing more than 60 characters - you cannot - the display output is automatically limited to 60 characters ... if it is less than 60 characters - you can concatenate the two objects into another infoobject in the transfer rules...

more than likely they will never know the text did not go through. If the number was assigned to someone else they will get your text message. I did this last week and the person texted me back asking who I was. I responded and apologized and they said no problem.

"Search for text" Zooms when number keys pressed. Expecting it to FIND text
For months I have been using (&relying on) the "search for text when I start typing " feature.
I am a school teacher & this helps me to search for students & record scores in an online grading program.
The "search for text when I start typing feature" stopped working two days ago.
Before, whenever I typed the "Find" box immediately opened up, searched the screen,
and highlighted whatever I had just typed. Now, when I enter a "1", "2" , "6" , "9" or "0" (zero)
the find box does not come up- so this disrupts all the grade recording process for me.
Instead, when I type in 6 or 9 (it zooms in the screen instead), 0 (it zooms out instead) and I cannot tell what happens
when I type in 1 or 2 (nothing appears to happen- but no "Find" box comes up.

BarryThe keyboard shortcut for resetting the zoom level is Command+0, so seeing that kind of response implies that Firefox is misreading the state of the Command key, thinking it is stuck down. Usually tapping the key numerous times will send a signal to all programs that the key has been released (at least on Windows).
On the other hand, in that case, Command+6 should jump to the sixth tab in the current window, it shouldn't change the zoom level. So... hmm...
In case a component of the OS has malfunctioned, have you already tried shutting down the system completely and then starting it up again? -
I have a one-column table in pages. Each cell has text and a number separated by a colon. Can I automatically make it two column with everything to the right of the colon in the second column?
Here's another way that is pretty quick to do.
Formula in Column B is:
=LEFT(A, FIND(":", A))
Formula in Column C is:
=RIGHT(A, LEN(A)-FIND(":", A))
You can eliminate the colon from the result in column B by writing:
=LEFT(A, FIND(":", A)-1)
Once you do the conversion, you should freeze the result by Selecting columns B and C and then Command-C, Edit > Paste Values.
