  • Aggregates on Non-cumulative InfoCubes, stock key figures, stock, stocks,

    Hi..Guru's
Please let me know if  anybody has created aggregates on Non-Cumulative Cubes or key figure (i.e. 0IC_C03 Inventory Management.)
I am facing the problem of performance related at the time of execution of query in 0IC_C03.( runtime dump )
I have tried lot on to create aggregate by using proposal from query and other options. But its not working or using that aggr by query.
Can somebody tell me about any sample aggr. which they are using on 0ic_c03.
Or any tool to get better performance to execute query of the said cube.
One more clarification req that what is Move the Marker pointer for stock calculation. I have compressed only two inital data loading req. should I compress the all req in cube (Regularly)
If so there would be any option to get req compress automatically after successfully load in data target.
We are using all three data sources 2lis_03_bx,bf & um for the same.
    Regards,
    Navin

    Hi,
Definately the compression has lot of effect on the quey execution time for Inventory cubes <b>than</b> other cumulated cubes.
So Do compression reqularly, once you feel that the deletion of request is not needed any more.
And ,If the query do not has calday characterstic and need only month characterstic ,use Snap shot Info cube(which is mentioned and procedure is given in How to paper) and divert the month wise(and higher granularity on time characterstic ,like quarter & year) queries to this cube.
And, the percentage of improvement in qury execution time in case of aggregates is less for non cumulated cubes when compared to other normal(cumulated) cubes. But still there is improvement in using aggregates.

  • CUMULATIVE& NON CUMULATIVE KF'S

    hello all,
    1. what is the difference between Cumulative& Non Cumulative Key figures?
what is the use & where &when we used these kf's ?
2.what is Virtual kf's ? wt is the use &where , when we used ?
    pls any body explain ,,,thnks

    Hi Trupti,
Cumulative value is the default type for a keyfigure.
The following is a typical scenario for  a non cumulative keyfigure with inflow and outflow.
Have two keyfigures (of type cumulative value)  ZWITHDRAWALS and ZDEPOSITS  set to exception aggregation <i>Last value</i> with 0CALDAY as the <i>aggregation reference characteristic</i>.
Create another keyfigure ZBALANCE (of type non cumulative value) with ZDEPOSITS as inflow and ZWITHDRAWALS as outflow having <i>Last value</i> as the Exception aggregation. When you do this, the following operation is performed in the period.
    Balance on Date2  = Balance on Date1 + Deposits - Withdrawals
(Where date1 is earlier than date2). All the keyfigures are of type <i>Amount</i>
Have a Characteristic ZCUSTID for whom the balance is shown as on a particular date

  • Non cumlative key figure

    hi,
can anybody tell me how to model the non cumalative keyfigure.
do the data is loaded in non cumaltive key figure or it is taken from the key figure we are specifying in non cumulative value option.
pls explain in detail if possible with eg.
and how to solve the error
the validity interval has the initial value as lower limit

    Hi,
We can upload in both ways. That means we can update directly non cumulative kfs.
For example BX Ds of cube 0IC_C03 updates the Non cumulative KF directly.
And we can also update cumulative KF which are used in Non cumulative as inflow and outflow. So that it will indirectly updates the Non cumulative KF.
For example BF Ds of cube 0IC_C03 updates the Non cumulative KF indirectly.

  • Cal & Non-cal Key figure.

    Hi Guru's,
Can anyone tell me the what is calculated key figure & non calculated key figure?
what is the difference between them?
Also give me practical example how to create?
    Regards,

    Hi,
Calcualted key figure: You can carry out arithmetic, boolean, percent functions on key figures using this.
restricted key figure: You can restrict the values of key figures by restricting it with values of characteristics involved in that query

  • Do Any One Can explain How to Create Non-Summing Key Figure??

    Hi Guru's,
Can Any buddy explain how to create a Non-Summing Key Figure?
    Details:
I am creating Three Key Figures, One of them are Ticket Number's.
Ticket Number supposed to be a Characteristic, but I was asked to do it as a Key Figure.
If I create it as normal KF, then the Ticket Numbers will be summed, isn't it?
    Your Help much appreciated.
    Regards,

    Hi,
If you are going to use that keyfigure in ODS, in Update rule you are having the option 'OVERWRITE' .
choose Overwrite for that keyfigure instead of 'Addition'.

  • Concept of Non-cumulative KYF

    Hi experts,
We are using some non-cumulative KYFs in our FI customizing cubes. It really brings troubles for the project. Like:
       - Poor query performance
       - No special 0FISCPER value due to setting as 0CALDAY for the base time reference characteristic
       - No useful aggregates could be created as 0CALDAY can't be removed from any aggregate
As so many troubles show up, I can't help wondering: where is the advantage?
In our cube, Z1BALANCE is a non-cumulative KYF with inflow (0DEBIT) and outflow (0CREDIT). What is the difference if I set a general KYF Z2BALANCE to replace it and write code in update rules: result = 0DEBIT - 0CREDIT ?
Would you please explain this in general words and examples instead of bunch of links?
    Regards,
    Aaron Wang

    Hi,
At all  this is link will help you understand non-cumulative better.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/41/b987eb1443534ba78a793f4beed9d5/frameset.htm
Non cumulatives are calculated at the runtime of the that's why query performance is slow.
The option is to compress the cube at regular time interval in case od non- cumulative. This will help in query performance improvement.
I think you can give any time reference in the cube if you want other then 0calday that's you can do at the cube level.
    Ya aggregates cannot be created.
you can use non- cumulative as well as cumulative key figure to the same.
depends upon the scenarion which you are working on.
If you data changes frequently then you should use cumulative key figures.
But if it changes non- frequently then should use non- cumulative.
The advantage is it gives you the values  with reference to the time there are cartian scenarion which can only be modeled through non - cumulative.
Like inventory where at any point of time you can have just change in the values of the stock.
i.e. always a delta brings in the change in the values of the invenctory.
Inventory va;ues can be maintained in the form of inflows and outflows. That is waht is increasing the stocks and what is decreasing.
Now if you just subtract( inflow- outflow) it will just give you the value at that aprticular time.
This one page documnet explains everything.
In our cube, Z1BALANCE is a non-cumulative KYF with inflow (0DEBIT) and outflow (0CREDIT). What is the difference if I set a general KYF Z2BALANCE to replace it and write code in update rules: result = 0DEBIT - 0CREDIT ?
you can do it through cumulatives also. But that you will have to maintain at the ODS level and then subtract the key figures in the update rules it and maitain it in the cube.
That will get stored with refernce to the time and will work well.

  • Non-cumilative key figure

    hi,
what is non-cumulative key figure.and its important.how to create it?
how it helps in the reporting aspect.
    regards,
    priya

    Hi,
Non cumulative keyfigures won't cumulate based on time characteristics rather than cumulates based on inflow and outflow keyfigures which are given at the time of creating non cumulative keyfigures..
    Ex :Head count

  • How to create non additive key figures

I don't want to add unit price in my transactional data that is loaded in my infocube. I automatically adds the unit price how to previent this in modelling the key figures.
    Thank you.
    Joe

This cannot be prevented. Key Figures will get added up.
One way around it is to store the quantity and the value associated with it and calculate the price at run time.
Other option is to store the price as a characterstic. If you need to use it in the queries, then use a formula variable with processing as replacement path.

  • Trying to create non-numeric key figure in Query

Hello, I am trying to add a formula into my BW Query that will return a non-numeric value.
My cube will be used like a standard BW cube 90% of the time, but there is one query request that wants to display atomic data and have non-numeric categories determine at time of query run.
    Example:
    Field A has integer values
    Key           Value
    Record 1     -1
    Record 2      2
    Record 3      6
I want to add a calculated field with the following logic:
If Value is <= -1 then display "Early" else if Value is >-1 and <=5 then display "On-Time" else if Value is > 5 then display "Late".  The -1 and 5 values will be replaced with variables that will be required on the selection screen.
This would return a grid as below:
    Key           Value    Calculated Field
    Record 1     -1           "Early"
    Record 2      2           "On-Time"
    Record 3      6           "Late"
I haven't been able to figure out how to set up this field.  Any ideas?

  • Difference between cumulative and non-cumulative key figures

    Hi,
What is the difference between cumulative and non-cumulative key figures and under what conditions they are used. What is snapshort and where it is used.

    Hi.............
Basically the key figures are of two types cumulative and non cumulative.
Cumulative are the normal one which you use always and they always bring the new values of the key figures in the delta that is if suppose A has value 10 and after change the new value is 20 then you will use cumulative key figures there, and your delta( new value) will bring 20.
but suppose your key figures field only the change in the prior value that is in this case the delta in the key figure value will bring 10 (20-10- change of 10 )as new value in the key figure A then you will have to model it through the non cumulaitve key figures.
    Now
    1) Cumulative is for the first case that is if the key figure alwyas brings the new values of the key figure and not the change sin the key fiures value.
2)NCum. value with NCUM value change:
In this case ther is only one field which brings the changes for a particualr key figure and you ahve to define that key figure as non cumulative.
Ex: In case of stock only one filed brings both ingoing value and outgoing value so 10 ,-4,100,-34.....
In this case you will this option and use the key figure here in the space provided.
    3) In this case you haev two separate key figures one for the inflow of stocks and one for the outflow of the stocks.
you use one key figure for the inflow and one key figure for the outflow.
The main key figure autiomatically takes care of the logic and gives the correct output upon the summation
net value of stocks( inflow- outflow).
Also do remember in this case the key figure for inflow and out flow are the basic key figures that is cumulative key figures.
A non-cumulative is a non-aggregating key figure on the level of one or more objects that is always displayed in relation to time. Examples of non-cumulatives include headcount, account balance and material inventory. here the aggregation of key figure is based on the another info object
There are two different ways to define non-cumulative key figures:
    • Non-cumulative key figure with non-cumulative changes:
Before you can define the non-cumulative key figure, an additional cumulative key figure containing the non-cumulative change must exist as an InfoObject.
    • Non-cumulative key figure with inflows and outflows
There has to be two additional cumulative key figures as InfoObjects for non-cumulative key figures - one for inflows and one for outflows. The cumulative key figures have to have the same technical properties as the non-cumulative key figure, and the aggregation and exception aggregation have to be SUM.
    Features of non-cummulative key figures
    A non-aggregating key Figure.
Records are not summarized for Reporting
Exception Aggregation is being applied on these key figures on the level of one or more info objects usually with time .
Examples: Head Count, Account balance, Material stock
    consider simple senario
Date Net Stock Quantity Sales Revenue
    01.02.2005 40 1000
    02.02.2005 50 2000
    03.02.2005 25 3000
this is the query output if stock quantity has treated as cummulative and non-cummulative key figures
if stock quantity taken as a cummulative key figure
Date NET STOCK QUANTITY SALES REVENUE
    01.02.2005 30 1000
    02.02.2005 50 2000
    03.02.2005 20 3000
    RESULT 100 6000
in the above result the key figure has aggregated to the total value that wont give sense to the net stock quantity
if stock quantity taken as non-cummulative key figure
Date Net Stock Quantity (LAST) Sales Revenue
    01.02.2005 30 1000
    02.02.2005 50 2000
    03.02.2005 20 3000
    RESULT 20 6000

  • Trouble with Non Cumulative Key Figures

    Hi all of you,
I am working on Non Cumlative Key Figures, (NCKF). I have the data like this
Sales rep S100 visited SHOP S1 on 1st Jan and 10th Aug, and transacted worth         100 and 500
SHOP S2 on 1st Mar and 1st July and transacted worth 200 and 300
SHOP S3 on 3rd Sept. and transacted worth 400
Sales rep S200 visited SHOP S1 on 1st Jan and 1st Aug and transacted worth 100 and 300,
visited SHOP S2 on 1st April and transacted worth 200
I created Non Cumulative Key Figure in the following manners:
In modeling in InfoObjects I double clicked on my key figure BILLAMT and selected the Aggregation tab. I selected Counter (all values) for Exception aggregat. By default Agg. Referen. Char was 0calday. I then activated the info object and went to BEx. Here I took other IOs like Salesrep, Shop NUM and Dt. Of trans in rows and Bill amt in columns and executed the report. I am not getting the output how it should come for NON cumulative key figures.
But when I right click the key figure Bill Amount in BEx in change query mode and select properties. I go to the option Calculate result as and selected the option as “Count all values”. And in another option Calculate Single Value as I selected the option “Count all values”. I said OK, saved the query and executed it. Now the output is similar to how it comes for a Non Cumulative Key Figure query but I am unable to understand the output.
Now my doubt is where do we set the properties for Non Cumulative Key Figures? Is it in the Administrator Workbench under Modelling under InfoObjects?
    OR
Is it in BEx change query mode by right clicking on the key figure and selecting properties?
    Please explain.
    Thank you
    TR.

As for the setting for Non Cumulative key figures...the default setting is done in the Key Figure properties, where u can define the Exception Aggregation. This property is used as such in the query, but if suppose u are getting the normal aggregation in the query , what you could do is "Create The Key Figure as Global Calculated Key Figure in Bex" and go to properties...click on the Button for aggregation ..select the aggregation and define with respt to 0CALDAY ..here.
    Hope this helps.

  • Definition of Non cumulative Key figure and web template

    Hi all,
Can anyone define a Non cumulative Key figure and a web template.

A non-cumulative is a non-aggregating key figure on the level of one or more objects that is always displayed in relation to time.Examples of non-cumulatives include headcount, account balance and material inventory. If the non-cumulatives change infrequently, you should choose non-cumulative management with non-cumulative key figures.
