Concern with JBL Creature II Speaker Sound

I just upgraded from the JBL Duet speakers to the JBL Creature II speaker system. I am unhappy with the sound produced by the new speakers. The subwoofer has a nice sound but the satelite speakers seem "tinny". Has anyone experienced the same results?

yes, I have tried varios settings for the eq. I have found that some songs sound better with certain settings. So, I have changed those songs.
But, it still holds true that the speakers have trouble with the mid range bass and the high treble. There could be many other factors involved, but I have noticed songs that sound distored on the creatures, sound great with my headphones.

  • Audio out on Mac Pro (late 13) with JBL Creature

Just set up new Mac Pro and plugged JBL Creatures I have used with audio line out in several Macs into the line out jack - no sound. Sytem prefs Sound output set to Line Out (highlighted). Nothing. Reconnected, then reversed and reconnected Creature input cable (green rung, 3 connector). Nothing.Internal speaker works fine. Is there an easy way to test whether the Line Out jack is delivering a signal; would there by anything about  the Creature that would be incompatible (am I giving a digital output to an analog device?
    thnx in advance

    yes, Digital to analog.

  • Trouble with JBL Creature speakers Help Please

Hello just got these to go with the mac mini. When I plug them in the only one that has worked is the one that has volume control on them. I have checked everything any idea why it goes off and on? The power is on i see green light on the main one. Now I have no power on either speaker should I send them back or can this be fixed? Ever since I plug them in 2 days ago one speaker work than the other does and now neither has the green light on execpt where you plug them into power.

I had a similar problem with the Creature 2 speakers for the missus's iMac. What I saw was only the left speaker was working but with very low volume and the right speaker not working at all. It also switched itself off too.
Turned out that the audio cables going into the sub were loose. Try reseating all the cables and then switching them off and on again. That worked for and now they are flawless!

  • VERY BAD SOUND: MacBook Pro (unibody) with external JBL Creature speakers

Recently I've bought myself a brand new Mac Book Pro. I'm very happy with my new laptop, but I can't say that about the audio-output quality my new MacBook Pro delivers in combination with my existing external JBL Creature speaker set. In the recent past this speaker set was attached to my old iMac 17" flat, which delivered supreme music quality, but now in combination with my by far more superiour new MacBook Pro, the music sounds very disturbed with a background noise and it seems that the speakers do get to much power/signal - but still the music sounds very far away and the more I pump the volume the worse gets the music output (i.e. more noise is coming out of the speaker) and the right channel seems to have less power (or output). Now I've disconnected my JBL Creature speakers set as from time to time also static ticks are loudly to be heard when just connected whilst I don't do anything with my MacBook Pro.
Can anyone tell me whether this is a problem of the audio-design of the new MacBook Pro (aluminium unibody) and if so is there a solution for to by-pass or overcome this very annoying problem.
Many thanks in advance for your support!

It is true that the audio quality is a total crap, the audio card seems to be "Realtek" and yes it is ****, I am really ****** cause it is not a cheap computer and I have always used mac too and I am really disapointed. I just can't believe that Apple has passed by the audio quality that is so carefully observed in the ipod products. I have been blessed (no, it is really a curse) with a very sensitive unhuman high frequency hearing and my ears really hurt when I use the earphones with the Macbook notPro and I use it at low volume. You can even hear when the sound system goes off when no sound is played for a little while and the when a sound is played goes on and the noise begins. Also you can hear strange whistles and sissings wich are not continuous but the main amp noise is there. This kind of noise is produced by bad quality, low eficiency amplifiers or other factors I do not know. But I have tested several realtek integrated cards and the all are pure crap or less than crap.
    Ok bye, bye.

  • Using iMac sound output with JBP 'Creature' speakers

Am trying to install a pair (set actually) of JBL Creature speakers. I am using the iMac digital audio output which I understand should also serve as an analogue output. However, the sound out of the JBLs is quite muffled, tinny, and low, which leads me to believe that something is wrong. Any clues?
Not sure how Mac Audio outputs work.

    HI,
I have the Creature with satellites. One of your satellites should have a plus and a minus sign. That is volume. The bass and treble are on the Creature subwoofer.
The outlet you use on your Intel based iMac is the one closest to the right side on the back.
Make sure your cables are seated properly. They connect "just right". I have found the Creature to have superior sound for such a small system.

  • I just purchased a JBL charge wireless speaker that is supposed to be compatible with ipad using Bluetooth , but cannot get my ipad to find the device. Please help

How do I connect ipad  to jbl charge wireless speaker using Bluetooth. My ipad and ipad mini do not find device

I am having the same issue as YCandy.  My iPhone 5 paired immediately - then I had bluetooth on my iPhone "forget the device" - but when I try to pair with my iPad it doesn't find the speaker.  I just purchased the JBL Charge wireless.
The directions that come with the speaker are just pictures - shows me how to connect everything and what each light and button means.  But it doesn't explain how to make sure the device is in "pairing mode."   What does that mean exactly?   The power button is blinking Blue - and never pairs with my iPad.
    Any suggestions?

  • IPhone 6 Plus speaker sounds distorted with popping sound when phone rings or alerts play.

My iPhone 6 Plus is less than a 2 weeks old but since day one its speaker sounds distorted.   The ringer or alerts or even the new email alert have a popping or clangy sound to them.  Is this a software issue or hardware?  My phone is uptodate and Ive tried hard reboots to try to alleviate the problem but it didn't fix the problem.  Should I try to restore it?  Also, If I take it in to my local Apple store and they replace it, will my new ZAGG screen protector just be a wasted $20???

    Hi _3ntr0py,
I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with your new iPhone 6 Plus. If you continue to have sound or speaker distortion with your iPhone, you may find the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article helpful:

  • JBL Flip Bluetooth speaker with iMac

Got the JBL Flip Bluetooth speaker from the apple store and I want to know if and how to set up the speaker after it has been paired to play through the bluetooth speaker as well as through the iMac

Go to System Preferences (under the Apple menu) > Sound and then select the Output tab. Select the bluetooth speakers for output. When you want to change back, go to the same place and select a different device.
    Best of luck.

  • VFL Speaker sound from both the front speakers while FR sound is not coming out at all.

I have a creative gigaworks s750 connected to a xtreme gamer sound card. The system was working absolutely fine but now it has started behaving very strangely; system is playing back Front Left Speaker sound from both the front speakers while Front Right sound is not coming out at all. If i click the front right speaker in audio console speaker setup wizard, no sound comes. However when i click the front left speaker, sound comes out of both speakers. I counter checked it with playing 5.1 dts movie and muting all the speakers except the front left one from ac3 filter, sound came out of both the front speakers. However when i muted all the channel except the front right, no sound was coming out of front right speaker.

Just want to add another relieved reader of this thread.  I had lost the sound to my speakers even though I had sound to headphones. I was convinced it was a damaged headphone jack because I had pushed the headphone plug in harder the last evening when my wife complained that she could still hear the speakers while I listened with the headphones.  The next morning--no speaker sound.
I spent a few hours searching the web to see how to disassemble a satellite A505 and get to the jack.  But I wasn't even sure I could get a proper replacement jack that fit, and I was concerned that small damage, say to the ribbon connectors could render the computer useless--a large price to pay for just missing audio.
Fortunately, I stumbled onto this thread and I recalled I had put the unit to sleep the night before--something I don't usually do, but I didn't want all the Chrome web sites to have to reload so I just put it to sleep.
When I put it to sleep again and fired it up--Sound!  I am so glad to find this solution so I just want to let people know it remains a viable option.

  • JBL Power Up Speaker + 920 not work in NFC mode?

Is anyone else having an issue with the JBL Power Up speaker not working with the Lumia 920 in NFC mode? I'm also having problems getting it to pair through Bluetooth -- my Lumia doesn't see it no matter what.

Sounds as if it might be a problem with your phone. Have you tried performing a soft reset (pressing the volume down and power buttons together until the phone vibrates)? if that doesn't work, then try performing a hard reset (Settings > About > Reset your phone). please bear in mind that this deletes all personal data, so please backup all personal data to PC and / or online storage first.
Failing that, I would take both devices back to your point of purchase to check it with another 920, or if they are being less than helpful, take your phone to your local Nokia Care point for them to inspect: http://nokia.com/support

  • JBL Creature speakers for the new Mac Pro

Hmmmm - unless I'm doing something strange/wrong I find that my JBL Creature speakers that worked perfectly well on my recently sold Power Mac PPC Dual 2.5 GHz G5 are not compatible with the new Nehalem 8-core Mac Pro.
I have the 8-core 2.26 GHz Nehalem with stock 6GB memory + the new 24" LED ACD connected via the mini display port. The JBL's pin does plug into the backside of the Mac Pro's audio out jack but there's absolutely no sound from the JBL speakers. The ONLY sound is from the speakers in the base of the 24" LED ACD.
Weird.... Am I doing something wrong ? Thanks....

Yes, you're doing something wrong: you need to go to system preferences -> audio (or sound, I'm not sure, as I'm not using English as my system language), then select the right audio output (something like "line out"). This way it won't use the 24" LED ACD speakers but your JBLs.

  • Play iTunes with JBL Flip using windows xp wirelessly

I recently received a JBL Flip wireless speaker.  It works fine with my iphone and ipad but i now would like to use it with iTunes via my Windows XP PC.  Is the best way to go about this with a bluetooth dongle/adapter or is there another means of getting the sound from my pc to play itues from my wireless JBL Flip speaker?

As a matter of fact it does not show as deivce under my laptop
Of course not... it's not supposed to.  There is no issue with that.
iDevices only show as cameras so that pictures/videos taken with the device can be copied off.
What troubleshooting has been tried to get iTunes to recognize the device?
    Different sync cable?
    Multiple USB ports?
Reset or restart or the device?
    Rebooting the computer?

  • Is it possible to edit spoken dialog without interfering with the rest of the sound?

I'm trying to piece together video clips from various movies, and in one of these clips the character swears strongly a couple times. Normally, I don't bother with this, but my audience is that of a "clean" nature and is strongly against profanity. Is there a way to briefly mute, or change the character's voice when he cusses and not interfere with the rest of the sound? Or is this asking too much?
Also, I looked in the "help" section and couldn't find anything to help me with this. But I have a bunch more questions. Where do I go that will explain all the features of Premiere Elements 8, without forcing me to spend hours figuring it all out and/or posting a billion discussions here in the forums and bugging all of you with my lack of knowledge?

What you are attempting to do requires a bit of work and then some luck.
It sounds as though you have an Audio Clip with both background noise and possibly music, plus dialog. You wish to remove just the dialog in a particular spot, or spots. Is that correct?
If so, then in an Audio editing program, like Adobe Audition, you can possibly extract the ambient sound/music with a Karaoke Effect, or with the application of EQ. This will yield a separate file with hopefully just the background and music, and no dialog. In a Multi-Track Session, place both files on a separate Track. Find the point where you wish to remove the dialog. Here, the workflow might differ, but I'd Cut out the dialog at that point, leaving only the Karaoke Track. To clean things up, when I had done this for each offensive passage, I would go to the Karaoke Track and do just the opposite - Cut out all that was NOT underlying the offensive passages, but leave a bit of that Track before and beyond the deleted dialog. Then, I'd add a Cross-Dissolve for Constant Power to those Karaoke segments to "ramp" the Karaoke Track into the mix, as it will never be perfect, and one wants as smooth a transition, as is possible.
Now, one can do this in other audio editing programs, that offer Multi-Track editing, and also VST plug-ins, or install with Effects like Karaoke and/or Parametric or Graphic EQ's. You could explore the great, free audio-editor, Audacity, and Google for VST's that will enhance its capabilities. Be sure to read the Help files on Audacity, as one does need to do a few things in setup to allow the addition of more VST's.
The work will be with the Karaoke (or similar) Effect, its result and also the frequency ranges of the speaker. That is where the "luck" comes in. Much human speech can be EQ'ed out, or at least greatly attenuated. Now, if you have a crowd talking in the background, or similar, and wish to retain that, all bets are off.
Also, if you only have ambient sounds, and no music, behind the speaker, just find segments of that ambient sound, where the speaker is not talking, and use that to "patch" where you cut out the dialog.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • I get sound on my ipod touch with headphones in but no sound through....

I get sound on my ipod touch with headphones in but no sound through the built in speaker on my ipod touch. I got it in December so it's a new model.

    Welcome to the discussions,
can you see the speaker icon and the changing of the volume bar if you press your volume buttons?
Try this with the headphones plugged in and then unplug them and see if the volume for the speaker is displayed.
Is your volume limit set to max?
Set a volume limit for music and videos: Choose Music > Volume Limit and drag the slider to adjust the maximum volume

I just installed Snow Leopard and my JBL Creature external speakers won't show up. They worked fine with my Tiger yesterday.

Hi - I just installed Snow Leopard and my speakers (external) aren't working either. I tried changing line in/line out and nothing worked. Restart didn't help either. Did you find a solution?
