Concise quick list of 10.5.6 compatible flatbed scanners?

My Microtek scanner has bit the dust; though not compatible with 10.5.6, it was doing just fine with the great software VueScan. But now that I must buy a new scanner, can anyone give me a good list of a few flatbed scanner models that are truly compatible with Leopard 10.5.6? Have had trouble really finding this info online. Thanks

Hi James
From Tiger 10.4.6 to date, I've never had a single hiccup with the Epson's..

+All current scanners except the GT-15000 are supported using existing drivers in OSX Leopard. However, please visit the driver download page for your specific product to see if a newer version is available.+

  • Editing Pre-built quick list report - access denied?

I tried to edit a pre-build quick list report but I get an access denied error when trying to save it?
Can someone confirm if this is by design?
I just want to remove a column but I don't really want to have to create a copy of the report, then update the analysis that navigates to this report so it points to my new version. Also it will mean the Original version is still available via the reports tab which i would not want to avoid confusion.
    Cheers

You cannot edit the Pre-Built reports, you have to open them and resave them to edit them.

  • SL Compatible A3+ Scanners?

Is anyone aware of any A3 or larger flatbed scanners that are compatible with 10.6.x? I'm using and old Epson 836XL through VueScan with a SCSI to Firewire adapter in 10.5.8 and that only works when the drivers feel like cooperating. AND the scan elements are starting to go. So I need a new scanner.
I'm also trying to find one for under $500. I can't really afford $1500+ for a scanner right now yet am not seeing too many options. eBay rarely has good ones and the Mustek 1200 UB Pro doesn't cut it. Thoughts?
    Thanks!

No, I did not try those links yet.
However, I think I may have found an acceptable solution at a doable price point.
The Brother Professional Series MFC-6490CW is a multifunction machine that happens to have an 11x17 scan bed. And it is priced under $300 which is great even if it just scanned. I've checked around and the scan quality is supposed to be good, though probably not on par with a graphic art scanner (anything has to be better than that Mustek though). Add it's wireless ability and other functions and we may just have a winner. I'm going to do a bit more research but this appears worth looking into. I wish the scan bed were just a little larger, but cheapskates can't be choosers. Thanks for your help a brody.

  • Quick List of Quick Fixes???

Does anyone have a resource for quick hardware fixes? My G5 is having problems starting and waking (go figure). It's getting a little worse, and I'm looking for options. Not necessairily the right options, but just things to try. Such as cracking her open and holding down the little reset button (PRAM? I'm not sure...) Other keys to hold down while booting (safe mode etc.). Anything I could try would be helpful!
(Holding down the power button doesn't count!!)

  • List of "fax to PC" compatible MFP's

    Hi,
can someone please guide me to a list of multifunctions that support the "fax to PC" functionality?
After trying / buying two printers that would have this function, I really need to be sure this time. It's getting frustrating.
The requested function should allow to save the fax as a jpg on the PC, before printing the fax.
Remainder of requested features is laserjet/scan/fax.
    Thanks in advance!
    Erik

    Hi @Erik3105,
What kind of laser printer do you look for?
If you would like a Black and White MFP, the HP Laserjet Pro M225 provide fax to PC capabilties:
    http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=CF485A&opt=B19&sel=BPRN
If you would like a color Laser MFP check the M425 printer:
    http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=CF288A&opt=B19&sel=BPRN
Both of those supports Fax to PC via the HP Software, JPG is not supported however, the software allow recieving the fax as a TIF or PDF file.

  • Cannot navigate back when browsing the quick list of playlists at YouTube

When you're in YouTube and click the square icon in the top right corner of the site to view the quicklist of your playlists, you are able to click the ">" button, but after doing that you cannot scroll back to the 1st playlist(s). There is the equivalent to ">" button, ("<") but it doesn't do anything.
I started firefox with safe mode to check if something is wrong with any addons but the problem remained.
    What can I do?

Reload the webpage while bypassing the cache using '''one''' of the following steps:
*Hold down the ''Shift'' key and click the ''Reload'' button with a left click.
    OR

  • Snow Leopard compatible printers/scanners

Here's a great Apple support document that lists Snow Leopard compatible printers and scanners. Of course it's the drivers that need to be Snow Leopard compatible, not the printers themselves.

Not having any luck here with the UFRII drivers on the Canon Australia website here to install the IRC4058i printer in my office (btw the download url is http://www.service.canon.com.au/drivers/files/ir/osxufr2v200.zip). After uninstalling the old version and installing the new one, I can only install Canon ipv6 UFRII and not Canon ip UFRII, which is what I need. Hopefully an update will be released soon!

  • A3 OS X compatible flatbed scanner

I need an A3 flatbed scanner but have read that Mustek scanners are terrible, I only mention them because they are cheap and plentiful. Does anybody have any experience regarding A3 scanners and OS X?

  • Where is the list of mac models that 10.6 is compatible with?

    Hi,
About 6 months ago I found a list on Apple's support site that listed which iMac models were compatible with 10.6. Could someone please point me to it?
At the time I was dismayed to find that my early 2008 24" 2.8 Ghz Intel core 2 Duo iMac was a gaping ommission in a list of iMacs both older and newer than it. Also I could have sworn I read a few accounts of people NOT being able to upgrade that particular model. Now, I can no longer find the posts or links... Maybe I was on crack or I have misremembered some search detail. Anyway, any help greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks!

I believe it is this early 2008 version
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP485
although the one above lists 6mb of L2 cache, whereas my system profiler says mine is 4Mb of L2 cache.
Strangely the 2007 model (http://support.apple.com/kb/SP16) lists a 24" with 4 gb L2 Cache but the processor speed is 2.4 Ghz. So maybe my computer is some edge-case model?
    system profiler yields:
    Model Name:          iMac
      Model Identifier:          iMac7,1
Processor Name:          Intel Core 2 Duo
      Processor Speed:          2.8 GHz
      Number Of Processors:          1
      Total Number Of Cores:          2
      L2 Cache:          4 MB
      Memory:          4 GB
      Bus Speed:          800 MHz

  • A list of compatible digital camcorders for imovie 6.0.1 (255)

I'm looking for a list of camcorders that are compatible with imovie 6.0.1. I have a JVC GR-DVL9500U and it will intermittently work, what I mean is on a fresh install of the application and reset of the camera imovie will recognize the camcorder, the application will work with the camcorder for a few minutes then the application locks up and it forces me to do a hard restart with the power button, when the computer reboots the camcorder is no longer recognized. Does anyone have a list of supported camcorders or a solution to my problem?
    Thanks
2.3GHz Power Mac G5 Cheese Grater   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   mem 3GB, ATI Radeon 9650

Most camcorders which have a little FireWire/DV/i.Link connector are pretty much compatible with iMovie, although different models may have different quirks.
Long ago Apple said that it wouldn't or couldn't test every camcorder with every new release of iMovie, but the latest list of camcorders ..which is never complete or up-to-date, should be here, but - as you can see - it just leads to different manufacturers' own web-sites nowadays, as Apple just can't test every single cam which is on the market.
Apple's info and suggestions about getting camcorders to be recognised by iMovie is here.
Essentially, it involves trying every permutation of camera off, or camera on, before connecting to or starting iMovie ..or starting iMovie with the camera already connected and playing ..or not!
Things you might try include throwing away iMovie's Preferences ..i.e; a file called "com.apple.iMovie.plist" which is stored in <your user name>/Library/Preferences.
Dan's excellent "Unofficial iMovie FAQ" also has possible answers to this and many many more iMovie questions, here.

  • List of Compatible DV Decks for FCP 5

I've seen a list on this site that lists all decks that are compatible with Final Cut Pro (each version). When I upgraded from FCP 4 to 5 the deck that I was using (JVC AG-DV 2000) was no longer recognized.
Anyway I've seen it, but cannot find it anylonger. Perhaps one of you has seen it and could direct me to it. Thanks so much in advance!

  • Quick Play Listing

I use iTunes both GUI and via ssh/terminal (via apple scripts) and I lement the fact that I can not select a tune to play after the current playing tune or after the last tune in the quick list queue.
I envisage those little 10px icons but instead of a blue dot or whatever it has a number (so 1 for 'will play next' and 2 for 'will play after 1') command click menus for removing them and adding new ones although the list should be strict and functionality to move/up move/down the list might be too far. after each song has played the song marked '1' would play '2' would become '1', '3' becomes '2' ect ect until all the tunes are finished and it reverts to standard behavour.

Do I take it this is either being worked on or the question is too hard.

  • Compatible Graphics Cards (dead Radeon HD 2600)

We have a Mac Pro running 10.5.8.
    2 x 2.8 Quad Xeon
    2GB RAM @ 800 MHz
    Purchased March of 2008
It's does not boot up (hangs on a blue 'pixelated' screen).
I took out the old ATI Radeon HD 2600 and reinserted it. The login screen came on as expected, but quickly returned to the pixelated pattern.
    Restarting caused a blue screen.
I've repaired permissions, deleted apps from start up, removed peripherals to trouble-shoot the start up problem and I'm convinced this card is dead or dying. It's a work horse for us. No games but we do work with large images for advertising and when using Aperture.
Where can I get a list of cards that are compatible?
Any recommendations on which cards to consider or which to avoid.
Thanks in advance for all helpful replies.

    Hi Kevin
    I have a MacPro (1,1), original with the hd2600.
Now i have changed it with the radeon 6870.
I build in the xfx with 1gb.
But other cards, like saphire works also in macro 1.1.
If u wann make this change:
    1. donload the drivers for the 6xxx cards.
    2. buy 2x 6pin pcie power adpter (plugged in onbord)
    3. install driver - replace an plug in
    4. Boot up an have fun
The 6xxx isnt officials upported, but works fine (os 16.6.8)
    Only "bad" things are:
    -No bootscreen
-DVD player dont work (i use VLC instead)
    -Steam dosnt work
    The rets works fin here
    (sorry for my bad english)

  • How can I list open files from the same application

I often have several different files open in Word, Excel or Adobe.  However only one is visible.  How do I get a quick list of the other open files from an application?

Many applications have a Window menu at the top of the screen. Clicking on it will list all the open windows, as well as providing other options depending on the application.
