Concurrent processing casing contention

I have 2 identical processes that I need to run concurrently, the only difference being each process handles a data set from a different day. I get the following error when both processes insert into the same table, even though no commit has yet been done (and is not done until each process ends):
ORA-02049: timeout: distributed transaction waiting for lock
Besides locking the table exclusively (whichkind of defeats the concurrent running of the processes), is there a way to handle this issue? (i.e. process 1 can not get a lock on table because process 2 is inserting into the table).
thank u.

--> XML output completely. Only first page visible. Buttons and Menu items
disabled not allowing to view the whole XML file to troubleshoot for

    Is the above mean :
-The xml publisher report completed but you can not view the whole XML file
-Or the xml publisher report error out with "Jave.sql SQL Exception No corresponding LOB data found: select File_data_dbms_lob.."

  • Single queue: concurrent processing of messages in multiple consumers

    Hi,
I am new to jms . The goal is to  process messages concurrently from a queue in an asynchronous listener's onMessage method  by attaching a listener instance to multiple consumer's with each consumer using its own session and running in a separate thread, that way the messages are passed on to the different consumers for concurrent processing.
    1) Is it ossible to process messsages concurrently from a single queue by creating multiple consumers ?

    Hi Mark,
if the messages are sent with quality of service EO (=exactly once) you can add queues.
    From documentation:
Netweaver XI -> Runtime -> Processing xml messages -> Queues for asynchronous message processing
...For incoming messages you set the parameter EO_INBOUND_PARALLEL from the Tuning category.
If more than one message is sent to the same receiver, use the configuration parameter EO_OUTBOUND_PARALLEL of the Tuning category to process messages simultaneously in different queues.

  • How to configure number of concurrent processes in XI?

    Hi experts,
    I have a simple interface:
    FILE -> XI -> FILE
The input file is a huge file containing thousands of records.
XI will split the huge input files, so that each record gets written to one file each.
Owing to the huge number of files being generated, I have many messages in status = "To Be Delivered" in the RWB.
When I do a filter for status = "Delivering", I see 4 messages in that status. (Of course the message IDs will differ from time to time, but at any point in time, I can only see 4 messages with the status = "Delivering").
How can I increase the number of concurrent processes that produces the output files?
    Please advise.
    Thanks.
    Ron

    Ron,
From this perfromance tuning guide , page 12 ,
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/70ada5ef-0201-0010-1f8b-c935e444b0ad
<i>The Adapter Framework requires a set of fixed application threads within the J2EE Engine for proc-essing different internal messaging queues (AFW queue, BC Adapter, CIDX Adapter, and so on). Ad-ditionally, certain channel configurations also require a fixed set of application threads (for example, RFC sender channel, File adapter channels). This may require a higher number of application threads. Therefore, within the J2EE Engine configuration (configtool or Visual Admin), go to:
Global Configuration -> Server -> Kernel -> ApplicationThreadManager
Set the MaxThreadCount property to 300</i>
Not sure if this is the exact property but this is sure worth giving a shot.

    Hi,
What if both nodes have all modules active? (host, admin,cm,forms, web) except the database of courseDo you mean to say all application services are up and the database is down? If yes, then there must be something wrong with the dashboard itself (if the database is down, you will not be able to access the application or even access OAM).

Why do you have to kill those processes?
If you need to kill those processes, then you also need to kill the database sessions associated with it -- Concurrent Processing - How to Find Database Session & Process Associated with a Concurrent Program Which is Currently Running. (Doc ID 735119.1)
Running cmclean.sql script may not be required here but there is no harm in running it.

  • MDB topic listener and concurrent processing

    Hello to everybody.
I ve prototyped simple db publisher ,which publishes changed data from database to JMS topic. Then I have my MDB which listens on JMS topic.
I setup and implemented all correctly and it worked. There was 1 consumer = 1 mdb instance. Then I tried to do load testing , So I triggered 8000 changes from database. The db adapter did the job and published the 8000 messages on the JMS topic in a while. To mimic processing in MDB I put the sleep(10seconds) in MDB.
MDB topic processing seems to me as not concurrent one. Why? I observed 10 message decrease with 5-10 seconds.
What I expected was: concurrent processing of 8000 JMS messages by 1 MDB (so MDB is poolable component isnt it?).
So for 500 instances of topic MDB and 8000 messages on the JMS topic, I expected at least 8000/500 X 10 = 160 seconds to process message load.
    I am using WLS 816.
Can You give me some hits.
    Thanks
    Roman

I did the same test on Weblogic 10 and it worked as expected. MDB durable subscriber consumed 8000 messages (each msg processing had 10 secs sleep inside.) within 2 minutes. So it is ok.
But why it did not worked on WLS 8.1? Is this a bug ?

  • Help: Concurrent Processing Java Method every certain Time Interval

Hello, I am creating a program to access a database after adding items to cart via UPC code. When adding items, the program accesses the database to get product name and price. The program needs to have functionality for when the database is down. In this instance, the main program will store all UPC codes in a temporary Array List of integers, and once connection is reestablised, reference all these items from the database and add them to the main program (showing name and price). I need help with a method to be invoked when connection originally goes down. This method needs to check for database connectivity every 10 seconds until connection is reestablished so that all items can be dumped from temporary Array List to database for retrieval. What can I use for concurrent processing to have a method running in the background to check for connectivity every 10 seconds (while allowing user to continue adding items to cart). I have messed with the thread.sleep( ) but I am left with no other functionalities (program freezes) when the waitForConnection( ) loop method is invoked. What can I use? Thanks for your input everyone.

  • Problems while enabling Failover with Parallel Concurrent Processing (PCP)

    Hi,
I followed the following Note , to configure PCP :
From Note 743716.1 - How to Setup and Test Failover of PCP on Non-RAC Environments
    Concurrent Managers configured :
    ERPCON1
    ERPCON2
    On those 2 Nodes :
    - APPLDCP is 'ON'
    - s_cp_reviver is 'enabled' (See Note 466752.1 - What is FNDREVIVER and How Is It Set?)
-> Concurrent Managers have been started with REVIVER_PROCESS="enabled"
The following Patches have been applied :
    - One-off Patch 6495206
    - Patch 9074947
    - One-off Patch 7295684 (See Note 727127.1)
    Manager Setup :
Assuming the 2 CP nodes defined on the environment are Primary ERPCON1(CP,Admin)
    and Secondary ERPCON2(CP)
the below table gives a snapshot of few of the Manager definitions used for the failover testing.
Manager Name : Internal Manager (ICM)
    Primary Node : ERPCON1
    Secondary Node : ERPCON2
    Manager Name : Internal Monitor_ERPCON1
    Primary Node : ERPCON1
    Secondary Node : ERPCON2
    Manager Name : Internal Monitor_ERPCON2
    Primary Node : ERPCON2
    Secondary Node : ERPCON1
    Manager Name : Standard Manager
    Primary Node : ERPCON1
    Secondary Node : ERPCON2
Manager Name : Conflict Resolution Manager(CRM)
    Primary Node : ERPCON1
    Secondary Node : ERPCON2
    Manager Name : Scheduler/Prereleaser Manager)
    Primary Node : ERPCON1
    Secondary Node : ERPCON2
    Failover Tests :
    - Shutdown Concurrent Managers , Listener on ERPCON1
    -> No Failover on ERPCON2 !!!
No Concurrent Managers are starting on ERPCON2

  • High Load on Concurrent Processing node

    Hello :
    version :11.5.10.CU2 / Linux -86
Recently I have started to notice that my concurrent processing node is loaded heavily between 3.00 AM to 6.00 AM and the load is normal. I need to find out the root cause of this spike. Is there a log that I can look for in concurrent processing node that will give me a clue.
