Conditional export from Premiere to SpeedGrade

How do I export just a portion of ONE clip ONLY from the Premiere timeline to SpeedGrade?

I'm not sure I understand you correctly yet. The work you have done in your Premiere timeline is pretty much finished, is that correct? The clip portions in the timeline are the exactly the ones you want to process in SpeedGrade - without further trimming?
I don’t want to export to it any more than I’m actually going to use in my Premiere project.
It sounds to me like you think that Premiere was outputting more than needed. If you chose "Send to SpeedGrade", the whole timeline gets exported - but ONLY what's in the timeline, not the complete source file(s) behind it..!
How long is your timeline? What's the file format and codec of the hour long source clip? DPX are an arguable solution with pros and cons, sometimes necessary, sometimes replacable by using a different workflow that doesn't involve rendering when going to SpeedGrade.

  • Roundtrip workflow from Premiere to Speedgrade to Premiere?

    Hi!
I see how to bring my project from Premiere to Speedgrade. But how do I continue working with Premiere and see the reflected grading?
So, changes made in Speedgrade, don't update the look or footage in Premiere?
    Thanks

  • Why are files going offline when exporting from premiere

    Hi all
I've got a feature length documentary of 2 hours. All files are online but upon exporting from premiere via media encoder the finished file has 'media offline' on some shots. I have NO idea why this is happening. All clips are online on the timeline.
I'm exporting both blu-ray mpeg and dvd mpeg. The project is on an external hard drive. Can anyone help this is a nightmare!?
Will exporting via premiere pro direct fix this problem?
    Thanks

Can't you see how the video is pixelated? Mainly around the nose and forehead?
Nope.  Looks fine when I watch it.

  • Media Encoder crashes when exporting from Premiere Pro

Media Encoder crashes when exporting from Premiere Pro. I am queueing multiple files for export and Media Encoder will crash. The computer system has 32GB of RAM and the videos export fine in Premiere, but that requires exporting each one individually. Each video file is being down converted and some can be quite long (upwards of 3-5 hours). Nothing else is running on the computer that would take up memory.
Any idea why Media Encoder will crash?

    Try turning off GPU acceleration.

  • Adobe media encoder extremely slow VS export from Premiere,Why?

I am exporting a 30 min AVCHD to QT NTSC DV widescreen. When I sent it to AME it was taking an extremely long time,it said it would take 8 Hours! When I put it to export straight from Premiere it only took about 25 minutes.I have CS5 on my laptop and it did not have the same problem when I sent it to AME, it only took about 20 min. I tried uninstalling CS5 and reinstalling but that didn't work. This is frustrating because I need to export a lot of files in different formats. Anyone know what can be causing this
I also tested this exporting in other formats such as MPEG2 DVD and it has the same issues.

If you queue or export from Premiere the resize will be done by the Mercury Playback Engine (ie the nVidia card does that grunt work) which makes it A LOT faster (like 4-10 times).
If you drop a file into AME directly it's done by the CPU.
    Is that what you're doing?

  • How do I export from Premiere Pro CC to Final Cut Pro X?

    Here are my system specs:
    iMac (late 2012)
    Fusion Drive
Processor 3.1 GHZ Intel COre i7
    Memory 16GB 1600MHZ DDR3
    OSX 10.9.1
    Running
    Premiere Pro CC 7.2.1
    and FCP X 10.1
    Hello there,
I have a fairly complex 3:00minute sequence that I want to export from Premiere using XML and then import into FCP X.
I exported and the tranlation error log was too long so I duplicated, shortenened and simplified the sequence and the translation errors seemed much more manageable. I quit premiere pro and ran FCP X. Import->XML And the XML files were all greyed out! I couldnt even select them. I tried compying the entire project file including a copy of the XML into FCP and still no luck. Am I missing something here?

Jim, some people (maybe not that many) are FCP X editors, so it's a good feature.
Also, I personaly find Premiere 10 years back in terms of editing. FCP X in my opinion has more editing features to make my life easy. The last release has also been a great update.
I have been editing in Premiere the whole year 2013, and I can't go back to the "old fashion" editing since i started editing in FCP X. but that's a matter of preference. The problem is that the other editors in my office use Premiere, so XML exchange is a must.

  • Exported from Premiere as NTSC, but Encore thinks it's PAL - Help!

    Encore 3.0.0.268
    Source video: AVI, 29.97 fps, 720x480, 32kHz 16-bit stereo
Exported from Premiere Pro to Encore with the following settings:
NTSC, 720x480, 29.97 drop frame [fps], Lower, Quality 4.5
    48 kHz, 16 bit, PCM
VBR, 1 Pass, Min 2.02, Target 4.78, Max 7.00 [Mbps]
But!... when I open the project in Encore, it only lists PAL options. For example, if I try adding a menu, it adds the PAL version instead of the NTSC version (which does exist in the Library folder). If I remove all the PAL menu files from the Library folder, then it doesn't list any menus at all for this project (except a couple HD ones) - ie, it's ignoring the NTSC menus.
Also, if I look at the Transcode Settings, the only choices are PAL.
NOTE: I already have NTSC set as the Default Television Standard in Encore General Preferences.
Why does Encore think the video is PAL? How can I make it think otherwise without redoing the whole export in Premiere?

  • Exporting from Premiere Pro CC 2014

    Hello there,
Every time that I am willing to export my project my Premiere Pro CC 2014 stop responding all together. I tried the short cut (Commend+M) or going through the Manu bar. the result is the same, Premiere Pro CC 2014 just freezes and does not respond to anything till I force quit it and restart it allover again. I tried exporting from Premiere Pro it self, without using Media Encoder, but the problem remains the same.
I am using the new Mac Pro. I heard Adobe Premiere Pro is experiencing  problems with the New Mac Pro. Is that true? Or is there other issue?
Thank you and looking forward to hear back,

Thank you very much and appreciate your help enormously.
Since preference files get touched by the application frequently, there is always the possibility of their corruption. When this happens, you start to see what we call "unexpected behaviors" from Premiere Pro. This problem happens infrequently, but it is a good first troubleshooting step to try on your own. This is the case with most every non-linear editing application I have used over the years (Final Cut Pro, Avid, Media 100, etc.).
    Thanks,

  • Exporting from Premiere Pro into Story

Can the metadata etc be exported from Premiere Pro into Story.
For example in the process of roughing out a documentary idea I'm shooting clips and making subclips in bins and developing sequences in this rough style.  It would be useful to document this in Adobe Story if such an interface exists thanks...

  • Why remove .flv export from Premiere Pro CC 2014? And what's a good workaround?

Why remove .flv export from Premiere Pro CC 2014? And what's a good workaround?

OK, so you want to put it on your own web page. That's fine as long as you know how to create a web page.
The next thing you have to decide is how big do you want the video to appear on the web page. Many people just post on YouTube and then embed the video into their web page. That way, the video can take advantage of all of the various sizes that YouTube provides.
In any case, I suggest that you use H.264. But the data rate depends on the size of the file. If you are going to display it in HD, then you probably want to start at about 20Mb/s and go up or down from there. The required data rate depends on what you find acceptable, and that depends on the amount of movement in the video. For example, a talking head next to a white board explaining something requires a lot less bits to represent the image because less changes are taking place from frame to frame. If you use 10Mb/s for that, you might find 20Mb/s or more is required to make you happy if you shot a football game from the sidelines.
I generally use settings that look like this image. If you have any questions as to why I choose these settings, feel free to ask.

  • Exporting from Premiere makes my video washed out. Thoughts?

    Hey Forum!
Question of about exporting from Premiere CS6.
When I export a video, and open it in Quicktime, the image has lost contrast and color saturation.
Does anyone have a solution to this?
I've heard about x264 but haven't tried it. Has anyone had success? A simple workflow they can walk me through?
I also heard that you could send your sequence to After Effects, change the color space to 709. Has anyone had success
    with this workflow?
The only time the video looks nice is playing it in FLV. But in the real world, who actually uses VLC?
The strange part is if I look at the raw video it looks great. Bring that clip into Adobe and export it (no color correcting, or anything done to it) and it comes out desaturated with less contrast. I would think if you did absolutely nothing, it should come out the same right?
Last note, I am not using an external monitor. (Because I know many in the forum willl suggest this) I would like to just get the video out looking the same as it does in the editing system to play back on my desktop. I'm not interested in worrying about other TVs, computers, etc.
Any help would be hugely appreciated:)!!!!

That's my point. Not worrying about other displays.
Why does the raw look one way, on my desktop, then I bring into premiere, export the same clip, and it looks washed out and less contrast on the same desktop, same computer as the initial evaluation of the Raw.
Evaluating with or without the signal conversation, why is there a change when I have done nothing?
    Hopefully this makes sense.
    Is the 709 conversation relevant?
    Is the Gamma conversation relevant?
I de-selected the Gamma (auto default) using the 422 HQ codec, and that did nothing to the color.
I'm wondering if there are other boxes to click/un-click.
    Thoughts?! Thanks you!

  • Exporting from PREMIERE to ENCORE (Correct Settings for crisp and clear DVD playback)

Please help. I have tried exporting a Premiere CS6 movie project to Encore, and when I play the burnt Encore DVD on my DVD player, it plays back fuzzy and it actually bounces. Here is my question: What are the correct Premeire CS6 export settings/ Encore DVD burning settings to get a normal, crisp and clear DVD playback?
This project is due tomorrow!!! Any help is much appreciated!

    Export from Premiere as MPEG2-DVD.
Import and burn resulting file(s) in Encore.
You can twerk your Bitrate Settings on export to increase quality.

  • Settings for Nexio Media Server for export from Premiere?

Currently I am running all my material through media encoder and then sending it back out into compressor so that it makes a proper file that my Nexio Broadcast Media Sever can read properly. Does anyone have experience exporting from premiere to the nexio settings directly? I am attempting to save a step and time by not having to export it twice for one file. Thanks!

    Hi-
I was just curious how you made out with your P2P Webchat application - ie. performance, audio, etc...
We are currently developing a Video Chat application for our service and are wondering if we should stay with the Adobe Media Sever and use RTMP or use the enterprise server with RTMFP?  We are having some issues with audio echo and delay with the RTMP solution so far.
    Thank you

  • Problem: Nothing happens when I queue export from Premiere CC.

    As above.
I do a basic queue export from Premiere, Media Encoder launches, then nothing is queued for render.
    Help thanks.

    Hi Dmitri,
    Thanks for your quick response!
    - It is no problem to take the sequence and drag and drop it in the AME
    - Yes, I can save the project and open the purport in AME
    - Build number of PPro = 8.2.0 (65) build & AME = 8.2.0.54
    - It is no problem to create a new preset in AME and to select MPEG2
For your information, there is no project that I can export from PPro to AME. This morning I send a new project to AME and suddenly AME was failed to finish the render that was already there. Because of that I quite AME and starter again. But from that moment it was not possible anymore to send projects bij PPro to AME….
On my other system the export from PPro to AME is working well.
So… I don’t know what the problem will be.
    Regards,
    Aswin
