Conditionally assign color to Report Heading in Reports6i?
Hi Friends,
I have a report which can be run from different Organizations.
The requirement is that if i run the report from OrgA,i should give it some color and if run it from OrgB,then i should give different color.
Is this possible in Reports6i?
You may try different templates/sections for diff companies and show the section/report accordingly.

Interactive Report, issue with backgroud color of Column Heading.
Hi,
I am using Theme -16
and there is a Interactive Report with the following columns Headings
Employee Name Employee No DOB
Now, the label of the first column is changed from Employee Name to Employee<br>name.
The column heading is now displayed as follows.
Employee Employee No DOB
Name problem is when I add a break in any of the column heading..the background color of the column headings is different than the first one (little bit darker).
Why the background ground of the column heading is different in both these cases??.

Inability to assign freight vendor at header condition level
Hello all
We are working on ECC 5.0 but will shortly be moving to ECC 6.0.
We have a scenario where raw materials are purchased from one vendor and delivered by a freight carrier (for which we are liable). To satisfy a Finance requirement to capture freight costs as part of RM valuation, we have created new freight conditions and set them as Header conditions and Group conditions - this allows the freight costs to be set at header level (ie per delivery) and then distributed across several PO items. Provided the freight carrier is defined against the PO freight condition, the freight invoice can then be matched with reference to the original RM PO.
However, we then wish to assign the freight carrier vendor to the freight condition and it appears this is only possible at the item level, which is time-consuming and inefficient if there are a high number of different materials/items on the PO.
I have checked the forums, SAP Notes, Google and even asked SAP - SAP said that it was standard functionality that freight carriers could only be assigned at item level (even though the conditions have been assigned at the header level).
Does anybody know a way of assigning the freight carrier vendor at PO header condition level?

Following the upgrade of our systems from ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0, we now find that a freight vendor can be maintained against the freight header condition record. This means that when the PO is created (relevant for that freight condition), the freight vendor will default against the condition at the header level.
The only problem remains when you wish to change the freight vendor - this still has to be done at the item level but it is an improvement on the ECC 5.0 functionality.

Hi ,
According to my requirement i need to Color to the header of the excel sheet which was getting downloaded from the report output.For the downloading to the excel i am using "EXCEL_OLE_STANDARD_DAT" function module.In the report output color is getting displayed.
so suggest me how can i achieve this.

As far as I know, using EXCEL_OLE_STANDARD_DAT directly is not very flexible and it doesn't have any coloring options.
However, if you use OLE manually in your code, you can get color.. check this sample program

Report header is missng while printing or spooling
Hi All,
I have a problem in print a report.its
After getting selection screen of the report ,If i click a print button (it's for execute and print)
the header details are missing in spool ( does not print selection fields of the report are missing in spool).
If i execute the report and got the output ,then i click the print button it's execute properly means in spool i am getting all the output properly ,header details also printed. means selection screen fields means what i entered in selection screen is printing.Its a AVL report.While debugging i am not getting solution.i have investigated in menu painter also.
but i am not getting proper idea to fix the bug.

SSRS 2012 Conditional Formatting Color Issues When Exporting to Excel
Hi all,
We recently upgraded to SQL 2012 from SQL2008 R2. I'm having a strange issue with SSRS2012.
One of the report has conditional formattings on cell background colors. Everything works fine when render the report in browser or preview mode. However, the conditional formatting stop working when export the report to Excel (no issues if
export to pdf). All cells are high-lightened with pre-defined color although it should only high-lighten those cells that fulfil the condition.

I have test the scenario in my testing environment, however, everything goes well when exporting to Excel format. The issue might be related to the expression for the conditional background color. To make further analysis, please post the expression as well
as the report design structure.
Additionally, in SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services, the Excel rendering extension renders a report to the native format of Microsoft Excel 2007-2010, the format of which is ExcelOpenXML. By default, the previous version of the Excel rendering extension,
compatible with Microsoft Excel 2003, is disabled. At this time, I suggest that you enable the Excel 2003 rendering extension by modifying the RSReportServer.config file. After that, the Excel 2003 rendering format will be available on report manager (not
available in Report Designer). So, please export the report from report manager and check the result again.

I am using Crystal XI to develop a fairly simple financial report. One of the requirements for the report is to have a copy of the totals located in the Report Header section. It does not seem to be as simple as just putting the running total field in the header. When I do that it does not evaluate properly and the result is incorrect. What can I do to work around the limitation with Crystal? Maybe I need to design a sub report that totals the information and then supress everything but the Report Footer section on the sub-report?
Please try creating a sub report in the report header and assign the values to a shared variable and call the variable in the main report and place it in the below section of the sub report. And also note that you should not suppress the sub report instead suppress the sections inside the sub report and resize the sub report to smaller size.
How do I create a shared variable in the sub-report? Can you give me an example? I'm not sure what you mean by placing the variable "in the main report" ... "below the section of the sub report". Are you suggesting that I place both the sub-report, and the variable in the Report Header of the main report? If so, why? I imagine the variable would serve the same purpose as the sub-report. In the case, I could just use one or the other. -

If you want to have the pricing procedure at delivery level then you need to assign a pricing procedure at delivery level also
Just go through the path to maintain the pricing procedure at delivery level.
IMG -> Logistics execution -> Shipping -> Basic Shipping Functions -> Pricing -> Pricing Procedure. for Delivery.
But can you be more clear if the above one is not your query ?

Function or formula to display the desired color in report
Hi,
I am using Web I rich client in BO XI R3.1 version and would like to know if there is any function or formula to display the desired color in report.
I've used aleters but not getting the desired output. I need to display the color of some regions percentage wise based on a condition in a box i've created alerters for individual colors but they are not working.
I came to know in crystal it is available just want to know if it is available in BO too.

EswarOr just make one alerter. Make sure you are in the cell and open Alerters. Create one that says "Filtered Object or cell" = "Cell Contents" "Less than" and enter the lowest number, like 0.6. Then click format and change to the color text or background you want. Say ok to all of that and make sure it works.
Then edit the same alerter, click add sub-alerter. Make this one "Filtered Object or cell" = "Cell Contents" again, and put Operator of "Greater than or Equal" to 0.7. Then click on the plus sign button to the right and it should give you an "And" option. Make that one "Cell Contents" "Less than" 0.8. Again go into Format and change to the next color you want. Click OK all the way out and check.
Then edit it again, and add another sub-alerter and make this one "Cell Contents" "Greater than or equal to" 0.9. and again format the color, and save.
Does that not work? -
Image in report header appears in front of underlaying section line objects
Hello
I am trying to simulate a company letter header with company logo in page header. I have added line objects in the underlaying sections so the user can see when the detail data/section ends.
I have inserted an image into a report header
I have set the page header to 'Underlay Following Sections'
when I preview the report, line objects in underlying sections appear behind the page header image
when I preview the report, text objects in underlying sections appear in front of the page header image
Has anybody any ideas or better ways of achieving same results please?

text objects are not behaving the same way, as a workaround I have set the top/bottom/left/right border property to single and used these instead of boxes or lines.Hi Keith,
Thanks for your patience while this was being investigated. So the way Crystal Report's layout was designed was that items are put in a stack of multiple objects with the ability to move forward and back as needed. For some technical reason lines and boxes were left out of this which means they will always be in the back. Unfortunately we don't know the technical reasons that this was done as it goes back to some of our earliest versions, we are investigating this though.
The difficulty know is trying to find the reason for this, and determining if this can be changes with out breaking backwards compatibility. In the mean time the developer has suggested a work around and are wondering if this would work for you?
1. Insert a text object and enter nothing.
2. Change the size (the height matches the line width) and background (background color matches the line color).
3. Right click on the text object and select Move | To Front. And then the "line" will be on top of the picture.

SSRS Text box expression in Report Header
Hi Experts,
I'm trying below expression under Text box (Report Header)
= IIf( IsNothing(Parameters!vCp_ID.Value) OR Parameters!vCp_ID.Value = "", "All", Join(Parameters!vCp_ID.Value,", ") )
It gives me error message as:-

Any help what I'm doing wrong? Because of this is it printing "#Error" while previewing the Report.
If I remove IIF condition and place only:-

than everything is working fine.

Since this parameter allows selection of multi values, the values of the parameter is returned as an array which cannot be used in comparing with = operator, as you have in the expression
Parameters!vCp_ID.Value = "".
You may pass the first value of the parameter (element with 0 index) instead like
Parameters!vCp_ID.Value(0) = "". Note the .Value(0). As such, you expression may be written as
= IIf( IsNothing(Parameters!vCp_ID.Value) OR Parameters!vCp_ID.Value(0) = "", "All", Join(Parameters!vCp_ID.Value,", ") )

Not sure if this will suit your needs but you could create a formula in the Report header that replicates a number of carriage returns based on the drilldowngrouplevel.
For instance;
if drilldowngrouplevel <> 0 then
replicatestring( chr( 13), roundup(5/drilldowngrouplevel) )
else replicatestring( chr(13), 10 )
Set the formula to can grow and ensure that you Fit Section for the report header.
Now on drilldowngrouplevel or main page the RH will be 10 lines in height.
On drilldowngrouplevel 1 it will be 5/1 = 5 lines in height
On drilldowngrouplevel 2 roundup(5/2) = 3
and so on -
Conditional Formating colors not printed
I have an OBIEE Report that has conditional formating to display results with background colors based on the values like if actuals is greater than goal then display the number in green and if below the goal then red etc. What I am seeing is that when I display the report (Table view) on dashboard on IE6 browser, it shows all the conditional formatting colors on the dashboard but when I do print preview, the colors are lost. When printed, it prints the report without the colors. I developed the reports in IE8 version and when I view and print from IE8 browser, it prints with colors. I feel it might be a bug or incompatibility with IE6 but am not sure about that. Is there any way to resolve this issue. This report will be viewed on IE6 browser and upgrading the company wide browser is not an option.

I need help in setting up a tooltip for report hearder in interactive reports. I tried the following methods:
1) By assigning a div title for column Deptno(This code is taken from the html source of IR report column):
