Conditions vs .rtf filter

Working with FM 9.2p250 and a silly request …
1. I open a document where I've been tracking changes with conditions since 2002. Only the last release's changes are visible, 'cause that's what I've specified with Show/Hide Conditional Text.
2. I select "Show All" and click [Apply]. All the conditionalised text becomes visible, as I'd hope.
3. Disdainfully, I select File > Save As… and save the file as .rtf 1.6
4. I open the .rtf in Word 2003, our current corporate standard: no sign of any of the conditionalised text visible at the moment of creating the .rtf
Is this the normal behaviour? I have no problems with it, but would just like to know.

FM->RTF filters included with the different FM versions (including FM9) convert any hidden conditional text to hidden text in the exported RTF file.
To inspect this, open the RTF in Microsoft Word, then use the Ctrl-Shift-8 keyboard shortcut to toggle the display of hidden text.
Other than using the excellent Mif2Go FM->RTF export filter by Omni Systems, you can create a temporary copy of your FM file, delete any hidden conditional text (by deleting the condition itself) and the save as RTF.

I have made little progress and now I am able to connect to the printer but its not printing.It prints a blank paper saying this printer is not setup for direct PDF printing.Can anyone help?

How to use OR condition in RTF?
say for example,consider the EMP table.
I want to show the employees of department 10 and 20 in my XML Publisher report.
How can i write --
if deptno = 10 or deptno =20 in RTF template

No,
There is no syntax called Between.
But you can use, > and < , if the dates are in canonical format.

IF Condition in RTF Help text

Hi,
I have RTF template which contains the field to display the column name. Below are my help text.
COLUMN1 is my XML tag and displaying AQUA color in my excel output.
<?COLUMN1?><xsl:attribute xdofo:ctx="block" name="background-color">Aqua</xsl:attribute>From above scenario, i need to add one more condition if there is no value in my XML tag then don't display the field in my excel output. For example. I have COLUMN1 and COLUMN2 XML Tag. Only COLUMN1 contains the value but COLUMN2 not. In my excel output the COLUMN2 value should not display.

"Or" condition in RTF Template

Hello,
In my RTF template, I try to test a statement for two values. I tried
<?xdofx:if :A!='0' or B!= '0'?>
<?if:A!='0' or B != '0'?>
It doesn't work : there isn't any error but the result is wrong.
Is there another syntax I've got to use ?

Condition usage looks fine.
Do these conditions individually work? Whats is your requirement?

Let me explain what I did so far:
I just added a field using the BI publisher Word Plugin (.rtf).
BI Publisher Tab - > ab¦Field - > select fied and "sum" as caluclation method in window and that popped up- > double click on field and look
at the code.
Now this code says
<?sum(mySalaryCount)?>
I want to sum up mySalaryCount from the database but only when the column for a specific row
has the right year value.
lets say the one that has the value 2011. So I extend to code.
<?sum(mySalaryCount)
(../menuParamter_selected_year =2011)
?>
the problem is, the above does not work. it works for "normal" parameters but does not seem to work for
menu parameters (as set in the bi publisher data model)
I guess the menuparameter is a list/array and hence the = is not the right operator.

I have a user that is unable to update their security group membership filter because SQL is saying the query is too deep. The filter looks like:

They probably need to rewrite their filter.
This error is thrown by SQL Server under several conditions.

One of the ways has to do with simply too many concatenations rather than nesting of subqueries (which is limited to 32 times). http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189575.aspx
In the former case there was a fix made that became available with SQL 2012 or SQL 2008 R2 (see the connect bug -- link above).
Either way that many conditions is a bit much. You might need to have them create several groups and then one group that references all of the groups membership

How to Print Footer details conditionally in RTF template ( XML Bi report)

Hi,
I have a XML ( BI) report. in which i am printing carry frwd / running total/ sub group total values in the footer section.
I have add one more condition to display the footer values based on the <xdofo:show-carry-forward ...> values.
Please suggest and help me on this, how to handle this case.

Actually i am looking for the following scenarios :
1. i want to Hide/ Don't show last 3-pages Footer information in the report.
2. While i am displaying the Carry forward information in the report
a. if the page/ running total is 0, i don't want to display the footer information.
b. only case if the page/ running total is > 0, i want enable footer information dynamically for each page.
i have done as follows :
in the Template main body :
*<?template:footer?>*
**1000* *1000**
*<?end template?>*
and for behind 1000 currently :
<xdofo:inline-total display-condition="exceptlast" name="RUNAMT"><xdofo:show-carry-forward name="RUNAMT" format="99G999G999D00"/></xdofo:inline-total>
it was printing the " RUNAMT " calculated page total sucessfully. but here if the Total = 0 then i don't want to show the value in FOOTER...

I have four columns. The value of the fourth column depends on the first three columns. Here are the conditions. Col1 is always 0 or less than 0.
1) if col1 = 0, then col4 = 0
2) if (col2 + col3) + col1 >0, then col4 = col1
3) if (col2 + col3) + col1<0, then a) if col2 + col3 >0 then col4 = col1 - (col2 + col3)
b) if col2 + col3 <0 then col4 = 0
How can I write the if-else statements for the above mentioned conditions?

I would suggest handling this at the query level using a case statement.
