Conect printer to wi fi

I have a hp 5512 old printer. How do i connect it to my wi fi so i can print when i am upstairs.  I need detailed instructions. I am 68 not very computer smart

Hi,
Are you trying to print wirlessly from a PC/laptop or a mobile device like a tablet or mobile phone?
To connect your printer to the wifi, you'll need to access the wifi connection menu on the front panel of the printer - scroll through the menus until you find one that says something like " wireless setup".
Once you find the wireless setup menu, you will need to find your wifi network and enter the wifi password. The network name and password are usually on the back of your wireless router.
Let me know how this goes for you.

    Hey Berry,
Do you have issues with your Wi-Fi on any other device? Or only the Printer? When is this error coming up? When you try to initially connect? Or when you're printing?

You will need an App like PrintCentral installed on the iPads in order to print from them.
PrintCentral for iPad on the iTunes App Store
Or, you can install an application like Printopia on your MacBook Pro. The MacBook must be running if you want to print from an iPad.
Printopia - AirPrint to Any Printer - Print from iPad - Print from iPhone ...
It is impossible to say whether either App will work for you, but there is a free trial for Printopia.

I also deleted the printer and added it again, that seemed to work for only 3 prints and now it doesn't work with anything...
    I'm desperate, help please

Having some success printing now, for no apparent reason. I do have to deal with the printer spitting out the paper thinking its the wrong size, then re-feeding it and printing successfully. I am four printouts into it. Will post again if it Stops Job. Still would like insights.

  • I can't conect my mx370 printer

I can't conect my mx370 printer to my laptop, what should i do?

    Hi,
Because her machine is a Chromebook therefore you CAN'T use the CD and/or using software and drivers on the support site. Only Windows and Mac software and drivers. On the other hand, your printer is not an ePrint printer therefore please try:

    Good luck.

  • Conecting to a pc network printer

Hello, this is my problem, My macBook sees the printer im trying to use in the network, wich is conected to a Windows XP PC via USB, the printer is a Hp PSC 1315 Series, when i go to system preferences (on the mac) the printer apears like "inactive" and when i try to print a document. the list of activities dosnt show anything, also very extrange that in the list of activities of the PC it does appear but its just static, any help please? thanks a lot!

    Are you sure?
Yes. If username/password match on both machine, you should be able to print without getting asked for credentials.
When I try print it gives me the option of entering a u/p or entering as guest.
This is when they do not match. You can then enter here valid credentials of a user account on the PC, which has been granted the right to print. If you connect as a guest here, you must enable the guest account on the PC and grant either "Guests" or "Everyone" the right to print.

    Hi @arriaga
Instead of trying to install the printer over the network, can you connect a USB cable and complete the installation? This will help determine if the issue is with Windows or perhaps something to do with the network.
    Another suggestion is for you to run the Microsoft fix it utility;
    What it fixes
Corrupted registry keys on 64-bit operating systems
Corrupted registry keys that control the update data
Problems that prevent new programs from being installed
Problems that prevent existing programs from being completely uninstalled or updated
Problems that block you from uninstalling a program through the Add or Remove Programs (or Programs and Features) item in Control Panel
If the issue persists, try the HP Print and Scan Doctor. The HP Print and Scan Doctor is a free utility (tool) that helps to quickly resolve common printing, scanning and connectivity issues including but not limited to:
    Connectivity :
USB: Verifies that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product is working correctly.
Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working correctly.
Device Status Test : Checks for device errors such as out of paper, paper jams, carriage stalls, and paper feed issues, and then provides instructions for fixing the error.
Driver Check : Checks for missing or corrupt driver files.
Device Manager : Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
Device Online : Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
Print Queue : Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
Port Match : Checks the port settings for the HP product.
Device Conflicts : Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.
Ink Issues : Checks the cartridges and ink levels for issues that affect print quality.
Print Settings : Checks and adjusts the print quality settings.
Test Print : Prints a test page for print quality evaluation, and provides options for cleaning and aligning the printhead if necessary.
Scan Tests : Checks the scan mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.
You can also click the Printer menu to find the additional features such as cleaning printheads, aligning printheads, checking ink levels, and viewing advanced printer data for your selected printer.

  • C309a printer not conecting wirelessly- printer's wireless wizard not finding router- rebecca

new comp.  running windows 7.  i've downloaded driver updates,  cd for printer... HP diagnostic tool etc.  turned every device off including router, modem, and rebooted.  reset router to defaults.  now for some reason printer not finding wireless router in NEW network name wheni  run wireless wizard from printer.  says no link on printer.  on new comp says printer disconnected.  diagnostic tool says incompatible with windows 7. have downloaded updates from HP as of december.  wireless network test says fail under wireless working.  all other comps in house can get on wireless internet. attempted to manually type in routers info... ip address etc... still says no link on printer.  did the routerlogin.com for my netgear router thats 3 years old....for ip's etc...
i need to get the printer to find the wireless router!!!!!!

First, let's make sure the printer is OK.  From the front of the printer: Setup > Network > Wireless Network Test.  Does it pass all its tests?
Next, in the same Network menu, Reset Network Defaults.
Now, if all that goes well, from the same Network menu run Wireless Setup WIzard.

HP Photoprinter C7280 printer. The wireless radio is on but not functioning  - so am unable to gain wifi connection and print! - Why?   How do I fix, Thanks

I would guess that the printer's wireless radio has died.  Have you tried plugging the printer into your wireless router with an Ethernet cable?  It should work and give you the same functions as wireless.  Your computer or router will not care how the printer is connected.

  • Adobe won't print from a Win7 machine to a networked printer conected to a MAC

    Hi,
    Does anyone have any suggestions.
I have a printer connected to a Macbook in the study, I can print wirelessly from my Win7 laptop, all other types of file - office docs/web pages/photos etc.  So I know the printer is set up correctly.
When trying to print PDFs from Adobe reader, I can see the printer in the printer select drop down, but when  I click print - nothing prints.  I get the printing diaglog box, but the progress bar doesn't get past 0%.
Also from within Reader, at the print dialog box, i can click the printer properties, and from there print a test page, but the PDFs themsevles just don't print. Also I dont get any error messages to say there has been a problem.
I am v confused, as i said every other program i use works without problem.
I would be most grateful if anyone has any suggestions, as its really starting to bug me and i have lots of PDFs to print!
    Thanks in advance

  • IPad 2 loosing conection with printer

    Hello everybody,
I got my iPad 2 since a few months, bought an HP Officejet 6500 E710N printer to be able to print from my iPad.
I've gone through most of the web discussions, done most of all suggestions from everybody and nothing solved the problem.
The only time i can print from my iPad to the printer is during a short 60 seconds after i powered up my printer, after this time my iPad looses connection. My printer works every time when i print in wifi mode via my computer.
All my drivers for the wifi router, printer and iPad are up-to-date.
    I have a D-Link router, model DIR-825 with the 5GHz band disabled.
I contacted D-Link, HP for the printer and Apple (without feedback from Apple) and everybody says it's not their fault !
Can somebody help, i'm discouradged and disapointed !
Many thanks for your support !
    Sam

    Dear rbii,
I just solved my problem: I just purchased an Apple AirPort Extreme router.
I had enough searching the internet for solutions that probably don't exist.
I'm stuck now with a D-Link router and had to pay the big price for the Apple device, but now I can print from my iPad to my HP Officejet A printer without any disconnection.
To all those who have the same type of problem, chances that the router is the cause are very high, if you don't want to loose your mind on trying to find a solution, you should think about the Apple router !
Please note that this router is much faster than the D-Link, at least twice the speed and videos are flawless !
    With regards,
    Sam
